Make sure you limit or at least lift properly when lifting heavy things. Running and high impact exercise can make things progress more rapidly so do at your own risk.
Avatar f tn Another option would be to go for a therapy. You are still young so I do really think the depression is temporary and that you don't need medication. I know such event is hard to forget but you will eventually get over it.

His symptoms were quite severe which included screaming for hours especially in the nights, drop attacks, urinary problems etc., He was also diagnosed with 'epileptic form dysfunction' in September 2012. We see a neurologist, neurosurgeon and a sleep study doctor. His recent sleep study showed sleep apnea. His headaches have now returned and I notice them being especially bad when he cries.

885961 tn?1249583403 I was reading in another forum about depression and stress and anxiety attacks because I was looking for something to tell me that either I am normal or that I am not alone in this and noticed many people posted things that are similar to what I have been going through. Just recently in the last couple months I started experiencing Anxiety and OCD again, mild but its still there never the less. I experienced anxiety and OCD when I was a teenager about 15 years old and had an abortion.
1565702 tn?1295296430 Yesterday in the elevator leaving work I accidentally dropped my purse and about five packs of cigarettes fell out onto the floor, along with some of my other stuff - and the gentleman who helped me pick them up commented that I must be some kind of serious chain smoker because he'd never seen such a pretty young lady carrying around so many cigarettes. I told him I was trying to quit and he just chuckled. I was so embarrassed. But its not like I'm oblivious to what it does to me.
1217401 tn?1291412754 Well, to start with, depression runs in families. My father had MI issues, as does my sister, myself and both my children and my nephew. Depression comes from a chemical inbalance in your brain. Sometimes stress can or an event in your life can get the chemicals out of wack and sometimes they just get out of wack all by themselves. Thus the reason for antidepressants.
Avatar f tn and asked my GP if there was anything she could test me for because my husband and i were potentially thinking about trying to have children within the next year. She told me "no" not until you have been trying and haven't hand any luck... but i can test your hormones.. (i think to myself, why not?) so trying to be as prepared as possible (because that is just who i am) i agree, and move forward with the hormone test.
Avatar f tn I'm so sorry, it's so very hard to loose our beloved companions than to feel no one else understands our deep hurt and ongoing feelings of depression following. Yes they are in a sense our children...we love them as deeply and mourn them equally. Don't blame yourself dear, kidney disease and others can be easily missed until it's too late.
293157 tn?1285877039 however large clinical trials are needed to assess treatment efficacy. Most symptoms of MS seen in children are similar to those seen in adults. There are, however, symptoms experienced by children that are not typical in adults, such as seizures and mental status changes (lethargy). Increasing evidence suggests a slower disease course in children with MS, but significant disability can accumulate at an earlier age compared to individuals with adult onset MS.
Avatar m tn I have been suffering from depression since I was 16/17 years old (possibly far younger than that) and in later life (I am 41), have found anxiety a huge problem.

7052683 tn?1392942395 Through reading I came to find out that we sometimes become alcoholics because we are self -medicating for another mental imbalance --like (for me) Depression. When you stop you have withdrawal symptoms , yes, but they sometimes are related to the need for medication to resolve the serotonin imbalance in your brain. For me I worked with an addiction couselor and she advised me to see the doctor about anti-depressants. WOW what a difference.
Avatar n tn I believe that the hypothyroidism can indeed account for the symptoms of fatigue and depression. The question to be asked here is whether, when your thyroid is adjusted properly to the right levels, your symptoms disappear. If so, and if you continue to need synthroid to maintain that level, then you should stay on it. You might want to consult an endocrinologist for a complete analysis of your thyroid functions.
Avatar f tn Sometimes symptoms of clinical depression can start with the effected person complaining of head pressure, dizziness and sometimes nausea. I'm not saying for sure that that is the case with your daughter, but it is a possibility. I was also very young like your daugher when my first symptoms of Severe Uni-polar Depression and Anxiety manifested, and head pressure (deep inside my head) dizziness and nausia were some of my most profound initial symptoms.
Avatar n tn some how the administrators messed up my acount so I have to go with the new nickname. I am currently 11 weeks prego, and am going through sever depression. 572651 tn?1531002957 After having to deal with depression this last fall, I have come to a few conclusions. First of all, we all are bound to feel down after the holiday season and those of us living in the part of the world that sees winter...well I think we are dumped on doubly that way. We spent the weeks leading up to Christmas being busy and having something to look forward to and once it's over....well; it's over and we tend to get stuck in a slump.
667078 tn?1316004535 It is easy to slip into medical depression and not realize it. Some of the depression related to MS is situational. Having an illness which causes so many medical problems. Financial strain. Relationship issues with changing rolls with family and at work. Our career defining who we are and the loss or changes in careers. Then there is as Shakespeae said "the Strains and Arrows of Outrageous Fortune and the thousand Natural shocks that Flesh is err to.
603015 tn?1329866573 anyone else have experience with young children with bipolar. My daughter has not been diagnosed as bipolar yet, they have just said they are one step closer to that diagnosis. 337923 tn?1423328772 I hear what you're saying. It can be hard sometimes to tell the difference. Here's my tatke: When I am depressed, I am always fatigued. When I am fatigued, I may or may not be depressed. I've had bouts of clinical depression all my life and have been (and may always be) on "prophylactic" meds . Fatigue has always been part of it.
Avatar n tn I finally got to post!! I have been experiencing severe withdrawal/depression the last few days, so much that I have found myself crying on a few occasions, I have been feeling like there is no way out of this awful life style, and if I get close to being clean, I get scared when I think of leading a sober life..... I can't handle it anymore, I lie to everyone, I hurt everyone and I waste all my godamn money on drugs, what the hell is the point?
Avatar n tn How do I know whether I am looking at clinical depression or evidence of drug use? I don't want to make false assumptions but I would respond to one differently than the other. If my son is clinically depressed, my expectations of him being self supporting are different than if he is using heroin ( he claims he no longer is). I just don't want to perpetuate the problem by enabling him to continue use, if that is what it is. How can you know for sure?
Avatar n tn You have been violently exposed to the basic fragility of being human, something that is always below the surface but quite deeply buried when you are the busy parent of young children. That, plus the stress you had before, is the most likely explanation. What you need now is some healing in order to get your perspective back.
