4592241 tn?1359813138 I'm so sorry you're having such a rough time. Sub can be tough to come off for some people. Are you talking about 1/4 of an 8mg strip, or a 2mg strip? Just like coming off any opiate, there is an emotional w/d as well, and depressive symptoms are common. Obviously, that's going to be worse in someone with a history of depression. Have you ever tried therapy for an extended period of time? Therapy really can be so helpful in teaching someone how to cope.
Avatar n tn m now wondering if perhaps my symptoms are due to depression or are perhaps exacerbated because of depression. My question is can depression be a purely physical disease? In other words, can one have depression without feeling 'sad' emotionally? I've always been a happy, optimistic person. I have no other major stressors in my life, aside from my present illness. I'm a 30 y/o male with no history of any serious illness. I'm in good shape and have a good social life.
Avatar f tn All the symptoms everybody mentioned above are anxiety symptoms. I have been having anxiety/depression from 5 last years. It started a month after I had my second baby. It suppose to be short term postpartum depression but it turned into long term anxiety. I have been many anti meds but it doesn't seem like it's getting better. Meds doesn't make u feel better but it takes little edge off. I really want to get of these meds but I am super scared because I think I might get worse .
Avatar f tn I am 22 weeks 4 days and suffer from severe depression.. for years now, not from being pregnant and my doctor wants to start me off on medication around 36 weeks because Supposedly postpartum depression is the worst and people end up Harming or even killing there babies and I don't want to hurt my little princess...
525545 tn?1293181194 You might want to review your meds with your psychiatrist, sometimes you need to change drug categories or augment the ones you are on. It's really hard to give you info with the little you gave. I can say though, that support groups and talk therapy should be part of your wellness program, meds alone aren't a cure. I found a good website that can find you local and online support groups. http://www.ndmda.
Avatar n tn I am now experiencing horrible clinical depression. For those who are much wiser about this than I, is severe depression something to be expected when stopping/drastically lowering narcos? I can't see my way out of this (I am seeing a doctor). Everything looks so hopeless and dark. This depression came on rather suddenly. I am terrified it won't end, and almost can't stop crying. i have no support system.
1564367 tn?1295997670 I have been diagnosis with chronic severe depression. And realizing as of lately I have Autism - Asperger's Syndrome. Is there a treatment for this disorder? I take Prozac for the depression.
Avatar n tn He may not even be suffering from Depression. In most cases (not all) if a person is suffering from Severe Depression, then the symptoms are so God awful horrifing and uncomfortable that they will do almost anything to make it stop. This includes going to see a doctor. In some cases Depression sufferers will suffer in silence and resist treatment. This is usually out of shame about admitting that they have a Mental Illness.
1092064 tn?1256952097 I have been on 20mg through 60mg per day of Aropax (Paroextine) over the past 11 years for anxiety attacks with agoraphobia (no depression as such) and while I don't mind being on medication for life if it keeps me sane but as I age (I'm 36) I am concerned I might be ignoring a worsening condition.
Avatar f tn I have been told that my physical symptoms are likely to be due to depression and the lymphocytosis a result of having asthma. I have been taking antidepressants (60mg Duloxetine/ daily - for 12 months), although I stopped taking them 2 months ago as they had no effect on my symptoms. I don't know whether these symptoms are physical or psychological. Can depression cause the physical symptoms i've mentioned above? If so what can I do about it?
Avatar f tn i have suffered with anxiety and depression for over 30 years. i have been on valium for 10 years. it helped the anxiety but not the depression. last week my stress was so high i felt like a nervous breakdown. my dr. prescribed seroquel 25 to 50 mg five days ago. for the first time i do not feel dpressed or anxiety. i stopped taking the valium when i started the seroquel. my valium has been a very high dose 60mg a day. will i get withdrawl symptoms from stopping the valium?
Avatar f tn I think everyones experience with depression is always a little different. Not to mention that there are many different types and severity levels of Major Depressive dissorder. For some they can be caused by past life trama, and for others (like me) I just seem to have a chemical imballance deep in the mood regulating part of my brain. For me the closest I could describe a true severe Major depressive dissorder is that it feels like you have a mad swurling tempist in your head.
Avatar f tn t retarded, but have had problems with relationships, lack of concentration, depression, mood swings, loss of memory at different times in my life. I didn't get diagnosed with Bi-Polar until 1988 and ADHD in 1995. My question is: Since I wasn't retarded, what other complications can come from being born with a non-functioning thyroid gland besides retardation. Is it possible that my Bi-Polar symptoms came from my thyroid disorder?
Avatar m tn Like any condition, there are many symptoms that may indicate if a person is suffering depression. If you Google "symptoms of depression" you can easily get a list of the most common symptoms. These symptoms include some of these just to name a few: Loss of interest in activities, Loss of appitite, Anxiety, strong feelings of unexplained fear and dread, hopelessness, crying spells, inability to concentrate, confusion, exaustion.
Avatar f tn Have you done a psychological assessment? Some distresses, like depression has the feeling of exhaustion as a symptom. I was like you. GP said it's 'nornal pregnancy symptoms', blood tests all normal, found out later my depression was coming back..
Avatar m tn There are also a gazillion other weird symptoms that go with each of the states (depression, mania, hypomania, mixed episode). It's really complicated and there are different types of bipolar and each person is different. Personally when I'm depressed I'm REALLY depressed and suicidal and I get physical symptoms (digestive and muscular) and I hallucinate.
Avatar n tn The thing to remember is that a lot of the symptoms people are listing here (fatigue, depression, hair loss) are VERY general symptoms which are present in thousands of diseases. So it's easy to get excited and think they have what you had - and again, I think it's fine to mention it as a suggestion - but to conclude that someone has this just doesn't make sense. I hope you can see where I'm coming from on this. Jr.
