Avatar f tn I have been battling depression majority of my pregnancy and I'm jw how many of you ladies have taken antidepressants while pregnant. Its a scary idea to me but I have tried counciling and herbal remedies with little to no help... I just want to feel happy again...
Avatar n tn I think you should mention this to your doctor. Home remedies, if there are any, might not be good in depression. Exercise helps release endorphins, which will.make you feel better, but I think you should talk to your doctor.
1100339 tn?1257632597 One of the symptoms of Hashimotos is depression. Often that is treated as an entirely separate issue and overlooked as a brain chemical reaction from the Hashi's. Often stress brings on the depression from the Hashi's! If you can avoid taking anti-depressants or anxiety pills then do so. You may not realise it but the anti-depressant actually causes the chemicals in the brain to become worse, not better!
Avatar m tn My sister who is 35 years is suffering from Depression from time to time and of course stress. I would like to know whether relaxation ie: Spa (using Jaccuzi, Sauna) and exercising in the Gym would help the medicines she takes and gradually becomes a new way of life for her?
Avatar f tn I'm 37 weeks & 3 days. I've been losing sleep. Anybody know any remedies that are good while pregnant?
Avatar n tn s causing her to have sleepless nights, trouble moving and depression, causing weight gain (obviously making it worse). It feels like a vicious circle. Her GP keeps putting meds down her neck and they're not working. I was hoping that someone could offer some advice or suggestions to help her out. I am looking for maybe some alternative remedies or something that could help ease her pain, it's becoming hard to watch and not be able to help. Anything helps.
1136046 tn?1260577435 I suffer from depression but do not want to take prescription medications because of all the side effects. Any ideas on what really works as far as vitamins? I'm taking St. John's Wort but doesn't seem to be doing anything.
Avatar m tn What are some good at home remedies to help these symptoms? And oh, i do get nervous sometimes not like i used to though, thank god.
Avatar m tn no sleep, depression, anxiety, numbness in fingertips and toes. Just feel terrible. Are there any natural remedies I can try to bridge the gap? Many thanks.
Avatar f tn t want to have to be on them the rest of my life,go for a follow up for 2 weeks,i have all these questions for my doc about natural remedies instead, was wondering if anyone else has tried natural remedies, and did it work?
Avatar m tn For more complete info on how to use natural remedies, as greenlydia said, try the complementary medicine forum. But with natural remedies as with medication, the only way you every know if it'll work is to take it, since people respond differently to different things. You also have to be careful taking natural remedies if you're on medication, and this one isn't recommended for anyone under 18, which is pretty odd for herbal remedies.
370181 tn?1595629445 I tried taking Sam-e, Gaba, Ginsing, Ginko, and a few other home remedies. Sadly nothing seemed to work for my depression. It really sucked to try a new medicine and only finding that the side effects were worse than my depression. I went through about 6 meds before finding one that I could live with. This of course happened over the course of 4 years. Just don't give up! try therapy because it really does help a ton.
Avatar n tn My daughter suffered from severe panic attacks for over a year and a half (she was 10-11 years old). I had to rearrange my work schedule so that I could wait with her before school. I could not even leave her in the car and go the bank machine (staying in sight). Shopping anywhere was a nightmare, should she for some reason lose sight of me, and she would even have them in the house on occasion (I was in the back garden). They were truly horrendous for her and extremely stressful for me too!
Avatar m tn that is causing the depression. Since you have not mentioned what has led to your depression it is hard to say what might help. There are natural substances such as St. Johns Wart that have some success. Check with your local GNC and ask about natural remedies that help restore dopamine and serotonin levels in the brain. Exercise is a must. The harder you can push yourself the better. This will produce endorphines in the brain which lift your mood.
Avatar f tn re not on medication, a combination of remedies might be better for you, and 5-HTP might be better for the combo of depression and anxiety than St. John's Wort. Might, I might add. Try picking up a book by Hyla Cass called Natural Highs. She's a psychiatrist at UCLA, and it gives a decent overview of how to use natural remedies for this. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Should liquid morphine and fentanyl patches be withdrawn slowly, I am also on psychiatric medication as I suffer from manic depression. I am very concerned that the abrupt stopping of theese medications may bring on a severe depression. Should theese medications be gradually taken away with reducing dosage over a period of time?
Avatar f tn I would like some natural supplement suggestions that might help combat anxiety and depression. I appreciate any information or guidance!
Avatar f tn Its getting so much worse. Luckily i have an appointment next wednesday with my OB and see if i cant do anything about it.. i have had thoughts of self harm. Which i havent did in almost a year and a half. I just get so depressed. Or anxious. When my husband leaves with out telling me i want to die. Idk why. Just do. I freak out. Any remedies you moms use for depression?
Avatar f tn Protozan is an herbal used for depression, and amoryn a natural formula for depression. These remedies are not regulated like medications, although they are starting to look closer at them. They may have some serious side effects that are unknown, and I would avoid them. If you feel depressed, I agree that you need to see a psychiatrist to determine this, and he would know if medication is needed or maybe just therapy or both.
1075109 tn?1281835691 If you have bipolar you have bipolar, no argument here. But in your heading you state you have bipolar 2, which isn't the same as bipolar. It is thought by many not to exist. If you're just suffering from anxiety, that's not bipolar. If you're just depressed, that's not bipolar.
Avatar f tn But although there are some natural remedies that work on depression they have not found any that can replace standard medication. In Europe natural remedies are prescribed but in the U.S. they are unregulated so you don't know what you are getting. But if anything is being used against depression it must be regulated by a doctor. Regardless you said you said you had suicidal thoughts. That is something you need to speak to someone about.
Avatar m tn I have what I consider mild depression for some time now. Due to the nature of my job [truck driver] I do not want to take antidepressants. I am taking meds for high blood pressure and the side effects from that is enough. Does anyone know of a natural cure? Do not say I need to see a head shrink, I do not believe they will help as well as empty my wallet. Thanks for any useful info.
Avatar m tn s Wort is for depression, not anxiety, and will only work if the anxiety is caused by depression. There are so many anxiety remedies, and they work better in combination. A good book to start with is Natural Highs by Hyla Cass, a psychiatrist at UCLA, though it's getting old. But if you don't know your natural medicine, it's very complicated, since different parts of the world have different remedies and systems.
