depression

Avatar f tn Memory loss and excessive sleepiness are only some of the symptoms of depression, as you might be aware of. Would you like to share some more thoughts on why you feel you might be depressed ? Do you feel sad ? How about interests and hobbies ?
38309 tn?1270893703 My OB has put me on Lexapro and Ambien to help control the worry and occasional insomnia, but the feelings/sensations I described have become more acute, (although I am sleeping better be/c of the sleep aid). I'm confused as to whether my symptoms are related to some mental health prob, the pregnancy or valvular disorder or all three! And I'm concerned about taking Ambien with the Lexapro. They seem to contradict each other. Thoughts? Thanks.
Avatar f tn moment when I remember having the same thing happen to me during another episode. It is hard to remember because so many symptoms come and go and may never show up again. I went through a time when my knees would just give out on me for no reason. This went away after a few months and was forgotten about. I have had times when I feel like I am leaning to the right and having difficulty staying on my feet. I have many times not been able to find the right word for even the simplest things.

Avatar n tn Since a stroke caused a seizure-like condition, I had to take Klonopin to be able to sleep. Klonopin is also an anti-anxiety medication. What a total change in my outlook! No anxiety at all anymore. I have been on the lowest dose of it, 0.5 mg of Klonopin, for the past 5 years with no need to increase it at all. Yes, it is a dependence kind of medication, but I am so happy that I am taking it. I will need to be on it for the rest of my life due to the uncontrollable jerking condition.
Avatar m tn The psychiatrist also was asking me questions related to depression such as "has your appetite changed?" and "are you sleeping differently?" but she stopped after asking me only three questions and I said no to all of them and that's when she said I didn't have enough criteria for depression.
200220 tn?1361955154 I am going tuesday to a doctor to see about that and whatever other issues could be related. Is there light at the end of the tunnel and how long is the tunnel?
Avatar f tn I have realized it is so true and am going to keep a journal to see what my symptoms are compared to the amount of sleep I get. I'm not sure about what meds to take to sleep, but I would suggest not taking meds you don't have to if they interfere with your sleep. Years ago I took Paxil and it made me sleep and I remember all my pain going away. Noone seemed to care back then as I hadn't been diagnozed with FMS yet. Doctors just said maybe I needed the sleep hence I was sleeping so much.
Avatar f tn But they always cause me to gain weight.i am trying to get healthy and lose weight now.and i don't want to take them even though they do help.Any suggestions can you help. Avatar m tn Some things really rev me up and others help me get relaxed enough to sleep again. Insomnia and sleep disturbance are often associated with anxiety and often treating the anxiety in a general way improves this. Others have tried melatonin as well. Have you tried this?
Avatar f tn Hi there! Symptoms of depression can vary from person to person but many things stay the same. I mean, we all feel 'blue' sometimes, but clinical depression, major depression has a 'life' of it's own, so to speak. Major depression can significantly affects a person's family and personal relationships, work or school life, sleeping and eating habits, and general health.
Avatar m tn Anyway, stumbled upon your post and thought you symptoms reminded me of several related to Chiari. It is often misdiagnosed as depression, fibramyalga (sp?) & chronic fatique disorder. May be worth googling and then if it does seem to fit ask for an MRI. Best Wishes!
Avatar f tn I now have rectal throbbing, gas, abd pain, frequent stools with periodic diarrhea, irritability, depression (intermitted) feeling as if I can not take a deep breath, extreme fatigue (not related to lack of sleep), I feel sluggish, almost weak. When my stomach acts up I get shaky, dizzy, very out of it. More recently I have had joint pain. My feet, hands, knees, elbows, wrists, ankles, back, shoulders, and neck all hurt. I am still getting low grade fevers.
Avatar f tn I have lost time from work d/t all of these symptoms. I am afraid to go to the doctor. I am worried that they will just blow it off, saying it's depression...or that it's all in my head. I KNOW that it's not all in my head....and it's getting harder to cope. I feel like I'm losing myself! Is there anything that would cause all of these symptoms together??
Avatar m tn Some type of Sleeping Disorder (e.g., Sleep Apnea) Anxiety Depression Something lacking nutritionally Carbon Monoxide Poisoning I’m supposed to get a Sleep Study done soon. But I don’t think it could be Sleep Apnea since I don’t fit the description (34 years old, thin). I thought that *maybe* it could be anxiety-related which I definitely suffer from. I have Benign Fasciculation Syndrome (sporadic twitching) which might have been brought on by stress/anxiety.
Avatar f tn Is phantosmia related in any way to diabetes? Here are other factors involved in my health situation: Female -45yrs Type 2 Diabetic Hypothyroidism Hi BP/Cholest history of depression On medication for all above. Lost my sense of smell/taste about 1 year ago, apparently due to several bad bouts of sinusitis. Most recently am experiencing symptoms much like phantosmia; unpleasant odors much like cat box or spoiling meat. No one else smells this. Rather disconcerting and frustrating.
Avatar n tn D-MER is directly related to lactation. It's always tough to have vague, uncommon symptoms of something....you don't want to always chalk the symptoms up to a psychological source, but finding a physical cause is tough too.
1378381 tn?1444869615 Not sure. It could be both. They are both anxiety related though. Is best to talk to your doctor but ultimately I think that therapy would be most helpful. I think the answer is to get good psychological support and to work through the underlying issues. It sounds easy enough but in reality it is quite complicated (but worth it).
1348938 tn?1276672434 My problems aren't serious but I was wondering if they where anxiety related and if it would help to go to a councilor or psychologist. Any suggestions?
Avatar n tn However, I would like to discontinue or reduce my dependence on Hydrocodone, as I have suspect it is related to my depression symptoms. My doctors, both medical and psychiatric, seem at a loss to explain what is wrong with me or to be able to find therapies that will fix it.
362387 tn?1207277719 You shouldn't go hyper if you gradually increase dose according to the TSH every 4-8 weeks with your doctor's guidance. The symptoms related to thyroid should resolve once you have been on the corrrect dose for a while. Make sure you get the TSH down to about a 1 or 2. A friend of mine who's TSH was 79, had a good response in a few months. She was on 100 mcg, but is a very thin person. I would like to think a nursing supervisor would understand!! Hang in there a while longer...
Avatar n tn I agree with star queen - i think you should have your thyroid checked. Also, i have bipolar II as well and I was on seroquel, lamictal and elavil. I didn't feel well for a long time and then went to another psych dr and he told me to stop taking the seroquel - I did and I felt alot better. I had strange symptoms before going to sleep as well - not like yours but strange. Now I have this whole "sleep paralysis" thing going on.
603220 tn?1219918774 i dont watn to have sex, even though i used to love having it, is this due to the tiredness or the depressiveness, i know being depressed kills your liabido, but could i just be too tired? im really strugling, my Dr is confused, i have yet to mention depression to her....
Avatar n tn 3) I had terrible insomnia 2 years prior to starting the Remeron. Could sleep deprivation have anything to do with my symptoms? 4) I had lengthy post-partum depression lasting for 6 months after having my baby 2 years ago. I never sought treatment for that because I thought I was better. Could that have anything to do with this? 5) How long should I wait to see my neurologist for re-evaluation if symptoms don't clear up? Thanks in advance... Kim. P.S. This is a WONDERFUL service!
765161 tn?1234692225 I was told that there is not a test that can 100% confirm Fybromyalgia but they have given me tests to illiminate anything else it could be and my reumatoligist thinks my symptoms i.e., muscle pain, fatigue, sleep disturbance, poor circulation, IBS strongly indicate Fybo.
Avatar m tn I had a biopsy a couple weeks later that revealed cirrhosis, so my symptoms are likely related to that rather than the underlying HCV. That's the real terror of this disease- you can go decades with the virus attacking your body and be asymptomatic until advanced damage has occured to your liver. I am fortunate to have great health care- I was diagnosed in July, biopsy early August and start Pegasys/Copegus treatment next week.
Avatar n tn from what i heard by chat, they all experiences different degree of Fever, but some of them had sore throat, some had rash, some went to hosipital for intensive care. even their symptoms occur on different period, the fast one like on day 8, and quite many said after 3 weeks.
Avatar n tn hello im 31 and since 5 months ago i noticed a few changes in my body; first i had really painful heartburns and i felt like something was stuck in my throat; i went to the emergency and saw a dr who eventually sent me to see the ORL; i saw 2 ORL doctors since i felt i should get a 2nd opinion and i was eventually told it's from reflux; i've been taking pantoloc for 4 weeks but that sensation that i have something stuck in my throat is still there; but i also noticed that the tip of my tongue f
