Common Questions and Answers about Depression symptoms related to sleep

Avatar f tn No doubt about it. Had maybe three bad hours of sleep. Then I took Chris to the ferry and was up for a couple of hours. Finally went back to sleep, and was woken up a couple of times by the phone, each time with head pain (6) and photophobia. Around 2:30 pm I finally ate, took vicodin, used ice. Got better by 3:30 or so. Milder symptoms continued. Few hours fine, then occasional twinges.
5856747 tn?1403348682 The news emerging about Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) keeps getting better all the time. Recent published clinical trials show benefit for this treatment far beyond boosting libido or reducing erectile dysfunction. It is now becoming apparent that TRT has the potential to not only prolong life but to also improve the quality of that prolonged life. In addition to this exciting news, criteria for deciding who might benefit from this treatment have been greatly simplified.
38309 tn?1270890103 I'm 36, 32 wks pregnant and enjoy relatively good health, save diagnosis of mild collageneous colitis. I would like your insights on the following, including possible treatment which is safe during pregnancy. A recent echo revealed 1+ mitral and tricuspid, plus mild aortic insufficiency but an otherwise normal heart. My cardio plans to run further tests after the pregnancy, mainly to explore the aortic leak.
Avatar n tn Very confused and blocked, felt had to miss work because no feature and had one staring me in face, barely missed an OPOPMAC call which would have saved my neck. Felt worthless and dumb, wanted to move anywhere, sell land if necessary, suicidal.
Avatar m tn Anyway, stumbled upon your post and thought you symptoms reminded me of several related to Chiari. It is often misdiagnosed as depression, fibramyalga (sp?) & chronic fatique disorder. May be worth googling and then if it does seem to fit ask for an MRI. Best Wishes!

Avatar f tn Is phantosmia related in any way to diabetes? Here are other factors involved in my health situation: Female -45yrs Type 2 Diabetic Hypothyroidism Hi BP/Cholest history of depression On medication for all above. Lost my sense of smell/taste about 1 year ago, apparently due to several bad bouts of sinusitis. Most recently am experiencing symptoms much like phantosmia; unpleasant odors much like cat box or spoiling meat. No one else smells this. Rather disconcerting and frustrating.
215461 tn?1331862765 I guess it was only a matter of time before depression grabbed me with its nasty claws. The constant anxiety has finally won over. I want to live life. I look out the window longing for some normalcy. I feel lonely and vulnerable. It's as if I am the only one in my world, physically. I'm tired. It's so tiring to constantly be fighting a battle you can't win.
Avatar n tn I have been diagnosed with severe depression, have been medicated with just about every anti-depressent known to man, and done a 3 year stint in therapy. I just turned 32, and have stopped taking any meds other than what I take for migraines. I am not insured for medical so I tend to wait till it seems "life threatening" before I even consider seeking medical help. The current state of mind is as it has been since diagnosis. I exist, and that's about all I have to say about it.

660974 tn?1248272668 Sometimes I almost choke on it, its so thick and continues to drain. I have several other symptoms, not sure if they are related but they all have been gradual over the last few years. My right ear pops quite a bit and sometimes they have severe pain, when I sleep on my left side and sometimes whan I'm sitting upright. I've had this for over a year, my regualr doctor says he sees nothing wrong. I also have High LDL 131 but he isn't concerned.

Avatar f tn Im thinking that my "yeast infection" and herpes outbreaks are more related to the moon cycles than anything else. It doesnt seem to matter much if I avoid sugar or sex, I still get one about once a month. It is probably related to my cycles and having an increase in estrogen each month even without getting periods. Ill have to look it up online. I had an outbreak again this week, in a different place (higher and on the left instead of the right.
Avatar n tn They did do thyroid tests which came back normal, along with a sleep study to rule out sleep apnea causing the fatigue. Also normal except that, like I said, the sleep doc noticed that my heart rate drops pretty low overnight. We're in the military, and when my primary care doc here on base got the report from the cardiologist, he referred me to internal medicine at the base hospital.
Avatar f tn I finally was able to see the specialist and apparently sleep is MOST important with FMS. I have realized it is so true and am going to keep a journal to see what my symptoms are compared to the amount of sleep I get. I'm not sure about what meds to take to sleep, but I would suggest not taking meds you don't have to if they interfere with your sleep. Years ago I took Paxil and it made me sleep and I remember all my pain going away.
Avatar f tn Cause I heard memory loss and sleep disorder can be due to depression but in the meantime Hypersomnia/Narcolepsy can lead to depression. Only God knows how thankful I AM to YOU. Thanks.
