The first time she got it was a few months ago, it started off with a severe itchy scalp and red itchy spots on her neck/back, then she woke up with a shock, her scalp was covered in yellow crust, it was awful she was so distressed, i had to get it out with a nit comb. That time she was suffering from stress.
Avatar n tn even though a typical age for MS diagnosis is given for the 20-5o age range (or there about), MS doesn't know that rule. Often we might be diagnosed at a later age (I was 54) but can then look back and see all sorts of symptoms in the previous decades that might have fit MS. We just didn't stop and have it investigated. SarahL is just one of many here who were diagnosed at a later age.... It is not the most common scenario but is also not that rare.
Avatar f tn Hi all! This is a question for my husband...He has several symptoms of hypothyroid including a waking body temp of 96.5, lethargy and fatigue, depression, migraines, hair loss, low libido, sensitive to cold, and his TSH is at 3.1 with a high T-3 and low T-4...The endo didn't seem impressed by the numbers and has blown him off...Is the low body temp always from Hypothyroidism?
Avatar m tn My mother (in the UK) is 65 and has suffered from dizziness/vertigo symptoms for more than 10 years. She has had two brain scans in the last 12 to 18 months and they indicate possible tonsillar descent which could be the cause of her problems which now include persistent headaches. It has been an extremely frustrating and debilitating problem for her and I have done some web research in desperation to find information that might help.

Avatar m tn Why is there such a large deviation or difference of opinion in different doctors on whether or not amblyopia can or cannot be treated in adults? Is it still because studies such as those conducted by McGill University (tetris) are relatively new?
Avatar f tn In any given year, about 12 million adults in the United States have depression. Depression cuts across all racial, ethnic and economic divides — no one is immune from the risk of getting depression. Depression typically begins in the late 20s, but it can arise at any age, affecting everyone from young children to older adults. Twice as many women are diagnosed with depression as men, but this may be due in part because women are more likely to seek treatment for depression.

Avatar n tn Recently for spring break he and his sister spent one week with his cousins (my sister-in-law, they have 3 kids 13year old, 10 year old, and 8year old) These five kids are very close. Since my son came back from spring break, he has not smiled. He cries every now and then, (you can tell the sadness in his face), not talking to us that much.. only answers questions. He had a blast for one week, and now he's home and has to go to school and etc. I don't know how to confort him.

Avatar n tn I'm a straight 30 year old male who contracted a wart causing strain of HPV nearly 3 years ago. I'm fairly certain of this, because my partner told me she had it after the fact, my only previous partner was a virgin, and I then went some time without any sexual activity. Just a year ago, I noticed a tiny wart in my pubic region. I had it removed and confirmed by pathology, and was wart free again for a while.
1284078 tn?1271587111 My doctor is now going to refer me back to my old renal consultant as they just dont know what to do with me, as you know it is unusual in adults and frankly i think i am probably the only person they have ever seen with it (i live on a small island so thats not that far fetched) What gets me is that i have had a few years without any problems and i guess i got my hopes up that it was finally over. It is nice to know that i am not the only one out there going through this.

Avatar n tn I think depression can be a combination of things - both physical and emotional. I used to get mind blowing headaches, which was partly caused by my depression, and then because I had them, it made me feel emotionally worse. It's a nasty cycle. From what you've described, you've been under a ton of stress, getting married is up there in the stress meter! I know when I've been ill, which I went through recently, it sure made my mood drop.
Avatar m tn I am a pretty emotional guy, with some already present anxiety issues and emerging from depression earlier this year. So, this is going to be extra tough. Hang in there with me guys! Thanks again. Congrats to all of you who are a step ahead of me, you give me hope!
Avatar f tn There is no harm in, "in going to a doctor just to get ADHD test done". Well, unless the doctor is just a general MD and has no clue....in which case you could wind up feeling like an idiot... when he is the idiot. And, in finding the right doctor...you just might change your life. Depression (along with anxiety) are the two most common disorders of adhd/add. I would guess that you made good grades in school, but probably felt like you should have been doing even better?
Avatar n tn d ring me in 5 minuites. They did. Then I forgot and rang them back 10 minuites later asking why they didnt ring me. Its stuff like that but I always forget.
