Avatar m tn He was very good and after a couple of meetings he prescribed me with medication for what he called a chemical imbalance in my brain that caused depression. The meds worked and I definitely wasn't as sad most of the time. So for seven years I've taken meds. More recently I've started to feel, emotionless and even angry (on the inside). Im not suicidal like I was in middle school, but I definitely don't feel good.

Avatar m tn If you are taking medication for depression does that make your system take longer to ejaculate and also make it harder to gain an erection?
Avatar m tn Well, if you're feeling very depressed and feeling very anxious. As for medication, you should first try therapy and lifestyle changes if you're able. Medication comes in if other means have failed and your life is unmanageable. This is basically any form of medicine -- you do the least invasive first and if it doesn't work then you look into the more invasive. Good luck.
Avatar n tn Depression can have many different symptoms. What affects one person will not affect another. Physical symptoms are very common with depression and anxiety - but we cannot give you a diagnosis here of course. Have you been diagnosed with depression and prescribed medication? Medication itself can give side effects like those you describe. It is difficult to tell you what is causing your sweats and chills without knowing a bit more about you.
Avatar f tn I am 17 weeks pregnant and have been having signs of a galbladder attack... The only problem is I had my galbladder removed 2 years ago with my first son. I went to the hospital and my dr and had blood work done for labs testing for blockage. They found nothing and said that it was acid reflux. They put me on 3 differny types of meds; ondansetron for nausea, ranitidine for stomach problems and metoclopramide to take 4 times a day 30 mins before I eat.

Avatar f tn The side effect profile on it is not much better then other anti-psychotics and unless you are experiencing severe depression I would question its use. Stick with Lamictal though, it will ease withdrawal symptoms for you. Ask your NP why s/he did not choose a different more convention SSRI or SNRI antidepressant. Good luck and stay well.

Avatar f tn I'm planning on going back onto medication for depression and anxiety as it's got much worse since being pregnant. I think after your first trimester any defects people claim pills can cause are massively decreased because your baby is developed much more. Just go through all options with your doctor first and any cons of pills you may take. Ask to see a counsellor as well as that may help as well.
Avatar n tn The medication you are referring to has an association with the brain chemistry and imbalance thereof. The mitral valve is involved in help regulate blood flow in a timely manner. Mitral valve prolapse indicates there is some leakage of the valve that permits some back flow of blood into the upper chamber than pumped into circulation, Often the leakage is mild and doesn't have any medical significance and doesn't progress or cause symptoms.
