953190 tn?1276519634 So, if you're depressed again, I would definitely go back on this medication. Always keep in mind that every medication works differently in different individuals. Every situation and body is unique, so go by what you know has worked for you.
Avatar f tn Protozan is an herbal used for depression, and amoryn a natural formula for depression. These remedies are not regulated like medications, although they are starting to look closer at them. They may have some serious side effects that are unknown, and I would avoid them. If you feel depressed, I agree that you need to see a psychiatrist to determine this, and he would know if medication is needed or maybe just therapy or both.
Avatar f tn It is heartbreaking to read the pain and suffering we are all going through. I have been doing battle with major depression since the age of 13. I am 55 now, so I can easily relate to most here. I feel the absolute truth in what people are saying. I come here to learn how other people cope, what they have tried, not tried, and why. But I have questions. How did we as a group of depressed individuals get to be so huge in number? Why are there so many of us? This in itself is depressing.
Avatar f tn Can anybody list me all the names of different meds for ADHD i would like to look them up before going to a pdoc so not to be blind and just take what ever he offers. Tell me about your meds and the side effects.
Avatar f tn Hey Everybody, I wanted to send an update on getting help for my depression. As of today 4-16-2012 I am still having a horrible time getting anytype of help. I have called my insurance company on numerous occassions to find a doctor that treats adults using ECT. So far I have just got a big run around, they give me the names of doctors and of course they do not treat adults with ECT. I am just about at the end of my rope with these people that work for my insurance company.

Avatar m tn [1] It is marketed by Roche under the trade-names Klonopin in the United States, and Ravotril in Chile. Other names like Rivotril or Rivatril are known throughout the large majority of the rest of the world. Perhaps you could find Klonopin under one of these other names in Australia? Oh, I see where you said you did find it. It is prescribed so heavily in the US because it works so well for so many people and has very few side effects.
Avatar f tn I too am taking 50mcg Levothyroxine for the past couple of months and have fell through a depression. My Endocrinologist gave me a prescription for 100mcg Levothyroxine and I have taken it and now I am to the point that I am crying. I was diagnosed Hypothyroid 2 years ago but I have been fine not taking any medication and my doctor told me I must take the meds and now I am depressed because of it.
2216810 tn?1420860476 I'm sorry you're still trying to find the right medication regimen, I know you've been through the ringer with that. I've told you a long time ago, that I thought you were originally misdiagnosed, and then treated with meds that weren't optimal. The good news is, you've gotten the new diagnosis that sounds much more spot on IMO. Is this the same p-doc who has been treating you all along?
Avatar f tn This has become my last resort, I have had depression for 2 years and was on medication up until my 3 month of pregnancy. Since I stopped taking the medication it's been up and down (mostly down especially so this past month) I'm seeing a psychiatrist but I hate talking to people and dread having to go let alone talking about problems. I argue with my boyfriend every single day which often leads to me having panic attacks on my own.
Avatar n tn My 75 year old mother suffered a large stroke in mid December 2010. Luckily there was no permanent paralysis or speech deficits. Within 14 days she was discharged from the hospital and doing well. Initially she was very fatigued but seemed to be her normal self mentally. Approximately 7-8 weeks post stroke she developed depression. Again she seemed relatively normal but "down" and had some anxiety regarding the dark.
Avatar f tn the best way would be to treat the depression by talking to a councillor and take meds for the svt, you cant take medication for depression because the meds can cause irregular heart rythm and this wouldnt be good to mix with heart problems, you should be looking into loosing weight if you're diabetic because you are more at risk of heart disease, good luck
Avatar f tn then it just passes i feel fine im my regular happy energetic self...i have thought about bi polar but i am in no way manic do i suffer from depression...should i seek medication... i wouldnt want to be medicated all the time just when i feel like that...

Avatar n tn Hi Just thought I'd add something. Chronic headaches are a sign of depression and clinical depression can arrive for no reason however there are many reasons for using Anti deps and also it would be useful to know which one you were prescribed. Depression of a clinical nature can be diagnosed by asking certain questions of yourself do you wake in the night for no reason or early in the morning do you get tired alot more than is normal do you get angry or fly off the handle easily?
Avatar n tn However, I am in the midst of another major episode of depression. Doctors hesitate to increase or augment the anti-depressant medication, as the effexor is already at maximum dosage. I too worry about liver toxicity of the anti-depressants, but I desperately need something to treat my depression. I am constantly fatigued, which adds to the depression. My younger brother died in 1991 at age 25 shortly after diagnosis of hepatitis -- I am estranged from my family so don't know the type.
Avatar n tn I think counseling might be a good idea to help you figure this out, but also to help you deal with your depression. You might consider medication, as well. Also, I wasn't clear... does your husband know you're having unprotected sex, or does he think you're on birth control? If he knows this, yet he doesn't want a baby, why is he agreeing to it?
Avatar m tn In fact, tried for two years to overdose on Oxy, hydrocodone and sleeping pills. I then entered a treatment facility to deal with the depression through counseling and medication (Effexor, Abilify, Xanax and ADD meds). I was adopted when I was 5 days old. Everything was good until I meet my biological Mother. She again after about a year cut me off from talking to her. She was mentally challenged herself with 5 marriages.
Avatar n tn I feel so bad for him, he cries at school all of the time now, and boy, that is a target for the kids at school, so he now is also dealing with names like baby and cry baby. I know this sounds little, but it is just tearing him apart, and I know that diabetes is absolutely terribe, but I want my son's smile back and don't know what to do.
Avatar n tn (i don't want to be on oxy if i don't have to) i've never expierenced this level of post physical depression. is there something about oxy that gives it more of an emotional "buzz saw" than other opiate withdrawal? it seems to me there is, as i've expierenced withdrawl from other opiates and all though they were physically more unpleasent, there was not this compent of emotional. i'm already taking 400 mg of welbutronn a day, and that seems to help some.
Avatar n tn I have always been an excellent student with a sharp memory. In the past 10 years, I have experienced varying degrees of depression, anxiety, and concentration/mental clarity problems. I am 5'5", 129 lbs., and run 15-20 miles per week. I take no medications. I have irritable bowel and severe endometriosis. 2 years ago, during testing for my GI symptoms, I was told I had "sludge" and a polyp in my gall bladder.
Avatar n tn My depression is severe - even thoughts of suicide. I have tried to wean myself off all medication, but could not do it myself. I need help, and am willing to go anywhere and do anything to get my life back. I do not want to be hospitalized like a caged animal going thru withdrawal, but be in an enviornment that can both medically, mentally, and spirtually support me. Does anyone have any ideas of any such place. I have looked on the web, and cannot find my nitch.
Avatar n tn However your family member should understand that it's the drugs that are altering his mental faculties and it needs to be addressed the same way any of his other side effects get addressed. It's a temporary thing. Only once in my life did I ever take medication for depression and only for a short time. I didn't need any anti-depressants while on treatment but after treatment was done, I plunged into a very dark and brutal depression and I did go on medication then.
Avatar n tn I have been taking depression medication for about a month, my doctor added another medication about a week ago. Even before the second medication I have been having some problems, I have been having crazy thoughts that I cannot get out of my mind. the more I try to get rid of the thoughts the more they are there. I know in my heart I will never hurt anyone, but these thoughts drive me to the point being sick. I don't want to be around anyone including my family.
Avatar m tn This begins to effect how they function at work and their abilty to interact with others as things become such an effort that you cannot remember people's names and things. It sounds that your depression was quite severe in that it caused that much disability for you in your life.
Avatar m tn Had a serious bout of depression and anxiety lasting approximately one month. I thought it was due to the Prednisone. Current symptoms, some of which have been going on for 2 weeks (and under): Started weekend of February 20th - feelings of light headed, some slight "floaty" feeling. I should note that time of year is the 2 year anniversary of a very sudden and traumatic divorce for me. Scalp tingles sometimes, band of tension around head sometimes.
439168 tn?1307935340 I've been stuck on the same medication for years because every time I try a new medication, it freaks me out or has wierd side affects. I really am a poor example. I've been taking Lithium 300mg, Paxil 40, and Clonezepam .10 mg a day forever (the past 8 years at least) . . . I know other medications would be more affective but it's so hard to change as medications like Paxil and Clonezepam are addictive in your system and you feel the affects when you quit taking them . . .
Avatar f tn this has been off and on for at least 3 yrs. im really embarrased to think maybe its depression so thats why i havent done anything about it.. but like i said one minute im fine and the next im not. so then again maybe its BPD. i have no clue. maybe its neither. but i write in my journal and when i read back on it .. i think wow i was really down. and then something happens and im right back there.. just as upset as the night before.. and yes this does usually happen at night..
