I've been in severe depression not wanting to do anything. I'm just wondering if I should go back on cymbalta. I'm on 150mg still because I was on it with my last pregnacy and everthing was fine.
Avatar f tn t be happier, but I have concerns about having depression and being on medication. By partner and I have been talking about wanting to start a family for sometime now. Now I am experience shortness of breath, I feel like I can't breathe in all the way like I'm suffocating- it makes me tingle and dizzy.
Avatar f tn Depends on your md but zoloft and wellbutrin( no clue how to spell that) are frequently prescribed to pregnant women. Also depends on how severe the depression is a risks vs benefits thing. As far as anxiety not really sometimes anti depressants help. My md said take benadryl, it doesn't make you less anxious but makes you sleepy...
Avatar n tn This is a tough one. I do know of doctors that will prescribe medication during pregnancy for depression when the risk of not doing so outweighs the risks of taking it. There are 'safer' choices. What is difficult about this is that she is stopping medication to get pregnant and is prone to it happening again. But I think if she talks to her doctor about it, they can best guide her. It will be important to monitor her during and after pregnancy.
Avatar f tn I think somewhere between 10-15% of women devolop prepartum depression, and the risk of having postpartum for these women is much higher. I'm currently pregnant with my first due in 20 days and out of no where about a month ago I began feeling different alone, confused, scared, and several other little nagging feelings which won't go away. The best thing you can do for your baby and yourself is speak to a healthcare represenative so they can determine the best route of help.

652671 tn?1353712165 I was prescribe wellburtan XL during my last 3 pregnancies. My doctors told me it was safe and better to keep taking my meds through out my pregnancy. I choose to stop my meds while pregnant just because I didnt want to chance anything. But then again, I refused to take the meds for MS too or any other kind off pill that wasnt a vitamin. But with any antidepressant you arent supposed to just stop taking the cold turkey. I weened my self and just dealt with life for those 9 months.

Avatar m tn In any case, my spouse has stopped taken celexa and because we are trying to get pregnant. It was suggested for her not to take a medication as such during a pregnancy period. She did consider a natural medication to help with the depression (ie St. John's Wort) but to my knowledge is not taking anything at this time. Are there any suggestions to help her through this? Should she stay away from commercial medications? Is there a common or less common alternative? Thank you for your time.
