depression

Avatar n tn I took roaccutane in my late teens and it cleared up my acne wonderfully for a few years, but then it came back, and worse. My skin is much more sensitive now than it ever was before - rashes all the time.. Also, there have been big 'hoo haas' about whether or not it causes depression. I have also suffered a number of clinical depressions since. The best thing I've found for acne is Brevoxyl (4% benzoyl peroxide). It's a cream, available over the counter.
Avatar f tn I used Elidel for 11/2 years and it worked great now I had to stop because of fear that it causes cancer. I have been using metrogel for 8 days but at first it was great and now my pimples are starting to come out again is that part of the process???
Avatar m tn Ever since about age 15, the exact same time I started getting acne, I have been experiencing problems that pregnant women experience. At 15 all of the sudden my digestive system is soooooo slow. I can eat something and not poop it out until like 2 days later. I am VERY depressed and never used to be, I have a great home life. I am really sensitive to things people say, my friends have been like "dude what's your problem lately?" because the little things they say set me off.

Avatar n tn Daughter wants to get a chemical peel for some acne scarring on her facial cheeks. She has been on antibiotics (too harsh on stomach), antibiotic topical cream, retin-A, you name it over the years. We even paid out of pocket for dermabrasion treatments several years ago. She is currently on the form of the Pill as well to help with the acne. There is some scarring, but not severe. She is a young woman and frustrated and wants a solution to this situation.
894225 tn?1242786515 I feel like I can not get my life in order. I am trying to act "normal" but I suffer from major depression and anxiety. I am currently off meds, because i can't afford them. I am hopeless.
Avatar f tn You probably have symptoms - but they are very subtle - low libido, depression, no /impaired sleeping, acne, fatigue, poor healing, hair changes, etc. All symptoms of something else but they oddly will not respond to meds... I thought for years it was my thyroid, PCOS, etc but no... Your doc should look at the tests - and look for the source - find an expert.
1326513 tn?1276518001 PCOS can cause depression and anxiety, due to the symptoms you go through each and every month. I have a feeling, even if you DON'T have PCOS, you most likely have some type of hormonal inbalance. Acne is due to an unstable in hormones as well as the excess faical hair. I feel for you with the acne...I've had some pretty bad cases of it, but my hormones are being controled with birth control and Metformin (metformin, is a commonly used medication for those who have diabetes....

Avatar n tn Acne is not listed as a possible side effect of phentermine, but phentermine is considered a methamphetamine; methamphetamines are known to causes acne. I am a biology teacher and am frustrated that medical professionals are not confirming the overwhelming reports of acne being associated with phentermine. Is it a conspiracy???? Avatar n tn Rosacea often flares when something causes the blood vessels in the face to expand, which causes redness. Things that cause a flare-up are called triggers. Common triggers are exercise, temperature changes, sun and wind exposure, hot weather, stress, spicy foods, alcohol, and hot baths. There is no cure, but you can control their symptoms and keep the disease from getting worse. If antibiotic creams or pills do not work, stronger medicines such as isotretinoin may be used.
Avatar n tn Hi, Postinflammatory hyperpigmentation, or PIH, is the medical term given to discoloration of the skin that follows a wound, rash, pimple, or other stimuli which causes skin inflammation. This causes the skin to produce too much melanin. which darkens and discolors the wounded area. This discoloration remains even after the wound or rash has healed. PIH is very common among acne sufferers. It can occur in all skin types, although it is more common in darker skin tones.

Avatar m tn Ive tried tretinoin, benzoyl peroxide, topicals, as well as dozen lotions, steroid creams, and moisturizers but none of them help, they cause more irritation and flaking. My skin stings and burns all the time, and swollen from the acne, it causes so much pain. It feels like insects are crawling in my skin. But i dont know what to do. Ive tried everything and i am at my wits end. I cannot see a dermatologist right now as they are overbooked until next year and I currently am uninsured.
