I am 27. I was on Depo-Provera for 5 years, and have been off it for 3 years with normal (for me) menstrual cycles. During the past 6 months I have been trying to conceive, with no success. My period usually lasts about 4 days with a light to moderate flow. However, recently (during the past few months) I have been experiencing severe cramping during my period and lower back pain, as well as constant abdominal pain (not severe).

I was on depo provera for around 2 years and a few years previous to that .. It's taken me 6 months to get back to a normal cycle but that's just standard with the provera when I came off bc pill I went back to normal the following month best way to know when you are ovulating is to count bak 14 days from when your next AF is due and that's on average your ovulation date but everyone is different ..

Hi, Use another form of birth control for the first week after getting the shot. If you decide to continue with Depo injections, make sure you get your injection every 12 weeks for it to be effective and so that it can work properly.

Yrs ago when I was on depo provera I had irregular light periods and after a few months they were non existant till I stopped getting the shots.

It will give you all the info you need. FYI Her chances of getting pregnant on the depo are VERY slim..It is normal for her not to get her period on the depo. That's what it does..I was on it for 4 yrs..Don't be nervous, just do your research on it...I must say, her Dr should've told her what he was giving her as an injection. It actually took me over another year after my period returned before, I finally became pregnant. The depo-provera shot is extremely effective. So much so, that it actually is a bad choice of contraceptive if you actually want to get pregnant within 2 years of the shot, because it takes that long for your body to return to normal. If you are still unsure, ask her doctor.

m a 19 year old female who was on the Depo Provera shot from summer of 2013 until last November. The depo shot completely took away my periods and even when I quit it in November I didn't get a period until July 2nd of this year. This period was a pretty normal one. I've heard it takes awhile to get pregnant after quitting depo provera. Sometimes over a year. Maybe I'm a bit old fashioned and cautious, but I would suggest taking the pill. Gl.

I was just wondering if I could be pregnant. I got the depo shot on November 15th of 2014... And my doctor said that it only lasts for three motnhs, and I think I might be pregnant...
