Avatar f tn I want to know what are the risk factors involed during the dental scaling or cleaning. The equipments which are used during cleaning, are diposable (like injection needles) or not? If not, then how is it ensured that there is no chance of any kind of infaction (some bacterias or virus may survive at boiling temperature of water also). Please guide me.
Avatar f tn This combination of medications is used to treat mild-to-moderate pain associated with conditions such as headache, dental pain, muscle pain, painful menstruation, pain following an accident, and pain following operations. The half-life of acetaminophen is 1-4 hours......in other words, approximately every 4 hours, 1/2 the dose in your body will be excreted. This process will continue until all the medication is out of your system.
Avatar n tn 2, if the virus would be inactive after it left a human body for a few minutes, how come so many cases of HIV infection because of blood transfusion or operations with unstrictly sterilized instruments? 3, if the virus can keep active only in an environment of low temperature, how can virus on the dental instruments and razors infect another?

Avatar m tn t use a mask, and it would not be unreasonable to ask him why he does not do so, or to wear one in future operations on you. However, the purpose of masking during surgery is not to protect patients from blood-borne infections like HIV. The intent is to prevent bacterial wound infections (e.g., staph, strep); and to protect the surgeon from the patient's body secretions.
Avatar f tn Hi, That really depends on each persons preference, and what they are comfortable with doing in a sexual manner. There are many books, instructional manuals, a variety of information, and dvd's you can research if you google or use your search bar regarding sexual preferences and positions ~ there's a lot of information out there...
Avatar m tn That is a very complicated question. If you visit the FDA site they have information on what are called "elective replacement indications", as well as full discussions on the various reasons for ,pacemaker failure. They also have detailed physician's manuals on various models of Pacemaker.
Avatar f tn 6 years ago I had my cheekbone smashed by a hockey ball. I have two operations to fix the side of my face but as I had severed my infraorbital nerve had severe nerve damage. I had terrible ant like sensation and hyper sensetive areas across my nose, lip and side of my face. I had further surgeries where they tried to freeze the nerve and then tried to obliterate the nerve. However, after every attempt the same horrible sensation comes back.
Avatar n tn "One problem lies with the mechanical dental handpiece which ***** fluid, including blood and other matter, from the mouth .
Avatar f tn Its best to start out with a manual anyways because typically the electrics dont express enough till your milk fully comes in around 2-4 day after delivery. Manuals are great at expressing colostrum and I used it for my full milk too. But after your milk comes in electrics do get milk out faster.
Avatar f tn I've had several tests after the 3-month window period and they all were negative. I was reading one of the test's manuals (bioMérieux) and I can't get these few sentences out of my head: "The variability of HIV-1 (group M and group O) and HIV 2 allows the possibility of false negative reactions. No known test method can offer complete assurance that the HIV virus is absent." Is that true? Can I trust my negative results?

1480441 tn?1287706112 I've had PSVT all my life, still have it after 3 ablations although it's much improved. And I've had several operations during my lifetime with no heart complications. You're on Diltiazem and that helps. Letting your oral surgeon know is a must so they can be prepared. PSVT is pretty benign but you don't want them to have any surprises if your heart decides to start doing the jitterbug.
10203682 tn?1418693754 Ive heard the fire department is a good place to help you install them if you dont know how.
Avatar m tn A host of disorders have been invented in the last two diagnostic manuals, and they are very controversial in the psychiatric and psychology communities. Most of them are still just anxiety and depression and exist because drug companies have marketed drugs for these conditions and they help docs get compensation from insurance companies. Not to say they don't describe what's going on, but the most important thing is to not focus on labels but to focus on getting better.
Avatar m tn No you did not hear that from the CDC. I use the training manuals from the CDC and 3 months is conclusive. It's been 3 months since 2004. http://www.cdc.gov/nchstp/od/gap/pmtct/Trainer%20Manual/Adobe/Module_6TM.pdf page 11, number 4..

617598 tn?1222407634 Most of these can be cured with Ablation (operations), I understand. I have never undergone an Ablation myself. Again, it could be helpful to let us know what specific palps you have.
Avatar m tn I would love to know if maybe there is some types of experimental operations going on in the world to help.
