Avatar f tn How soon after a cataract operation (on the 4th) can I have dental treatment for replacing a crown or maybe having this back tooth out. Some aching experienced but dentist said it did not look urgent. The discomfort is on the tooth next to the wisdom on the inside and on this side there seems to be a gap and sharp edge to the cap.
Avatar m tn I had two dental implants put on me today, by my dentist he used local anesthesia, can I expect a sore throat as a side effect ? after the local anesthesias effect went away ? i am experiencing a sore throat after the operation.
Avatar f tn Okay so I am 22 years old and I will admit I am still afraid to go to the dentist, I have horrible pain with 2 of my back molers, one on each side. Last time I went my dentist (before I got pregnant) he had told me there was an infection begining and to go to a specialist...I didn't and here I am in so much pain. Didn't think I was going to get pregnant so soon after my first, so now they can't to X-rays on me. I've heard dental problems can affect your baby...IS THIS TRUE!!???
Avatar m tn Has this operation(s) become so routine that it merits so little comment? As unremarkable as a dental procdedure? What gives? Are residents and surgeons in huge teaching hospitals less interested in educating the families than in smaller private insitutions?
Avatar n tn I would like to know why laughing gas (nitrous oxide) is not a good option for my daughter to undertake while receiving dental care as she needs to be sedated. I am told that she needs to be adminstered the normal anesthesia as if she were receiving a surgery in a hospital. I understand that a cardiologist as well as the anesthesiologist should be present during the care (dental), but why specifically is laughing gas more hard on her system?
Avatar m tn 9am, im having a lecture and then at 1030am im having my clinical training which is at operation room and it was a first time i entered the operation room to see a surgery of kidney transplant. at first everything is normal, i watch carefully the surgery after about 45 minutes. while i keep my eye on anestheslogist injecting something to the iv fluid i started to feel lightheadedness and drowsiness with NO nausea and uncomfortable in heart.

600409 tn?1219747198 If you see will with the monofocal IOL and glasses over it why take a risk of losing your eye completely with another intraocular operation. Besides you have to wear glasses anyway while doing dental work for eye protection.
329165 tn?1515471990 I am going for Surgery in the next few weeks - Nissen Fundoplication and my Surgeon mentioned that I should get Prophalaxis Antibiotics before and after the operation, but then I told him as far as I know it is not necessary as my valve is fixed? Now I am a bit unsure... should I still take prophalaxis before surgeries, dental work, etc.? what is the latest info on that?
Avatar n tn you will be at the recovery room... I have mine done in 4/17 due to my left tube blocked... doctor went in there and flused it out... I got pregnant a week after the surgery... you will be in good hand.. put some trust into your doctor...
Avatar n tn Trust me, its not dental hygiene. I visited the emergency room and they said its reflux. They gave me carafate and told me to take prilosec daily. They also said it should take a week to take effect. I hope it works or I don't know what else to do.
Avatar m tn , even if you will be wearing a mask during surgery. They then rolled me gurney and all into the operating room, where they had me shift onto the table. (My gurney stood by so I could ride back to post-op in it.) I looked at the shiny light in the ceiling for a little while and they put on my mask (giving me oxygen, which is great stuff to breathe!) and then they knocked me out by putting something into my I.V. I woke up in post-op, where the nurses were watching out for me.
Avatar m tn My 18 month old had a mild case of baby bottle rot, except that he never had a bottle, so it's more like Baby Nipple Rot. His doctors thought it would be best to put some caps on his 4 affected teeth. We awoke at 5:30am and drove through hellish snow and dangerously icy conditions to have this operation done. So already we're not in our right minds. We were so afraid for our little guy. So very worried about the procedure.
Avatar n tn Usually a root left in will eventually make its way to the surface because theres a natural way everything in ur mouth moves if there's room. I wld be wary of any type of infection. Further if its in the sinuses u shld see an enter maybe. Did the dentist xray it? Has it been there long? Are u having sinus headaches and pressure?
Avatar m tn I am 50 yrs old and was prescribed vicodin for alot of dental and hip pain about ten yrs ago. I wanted off the vicodin and lost my insurance. My husband was prescribed methadose for his back pain and has been on it for years. It was cheaper and easier for me to take one of his because of the withdraw from vicodin. Well now I am trying hard to get off that in the mornings. I take one ten ml in the morning and 1 to a half before bed to help me sleep.
Avatar f tn A nurse outside the door questioned him on something…he left the room briefly and returned to working in my mouth. No new gloves. No new tool. I’m hoping he didn’t touch anything or get anything on gloves or tool, but it concerns me. Any HIV risk IF there could’ve been some sort of exposure to blood, germs, etc while he left the room - then came back to my mouth? I wish I had just asked him to put new gloves on. And use a new tool. Would love to hear from a medical professional if possible.
Avatar m tn I have attempted (2) DENTAL IMPLANTS and have had (2) IMPLANT rejections. With my first implant, my DENTIST thought that the implant's threads were too small thus not grabbing enough bone so a month or two later he retried the implant with another implant with larger grooves that that one seemed to set better, more securely and after a two week visit it seemed to be doing fine because XRAYS showed bone growing aound it at it was suppose to.
