Avatar f tn How soon after a cataract operation (on the 4th) can I have dental treatment for replacing a crown or maybe having this back tooth out. Some aching experienced but dentist said it did not look urgent. The discomfort is on the tooth next to the wisdom on the inside and on this side there seems to be a gap and sharp edge to the cap.
Avatar n tn rj47, I am not sure where you are from, but there is a good dental clinic in South Carolina. If you don't have dental insurance or can't afford to pay in one lump sum, they have a payment plan for any work done. I went there on Wednesday and had dentures put in on the top and a partial on the bottom. My total cost was 525.00. That includes everything.
1819855 tn?1317137399 Europe, by a great team of surgeons, the cost is a quarter of what would have cost me here). Now, I am healing from the bone grafting operation and I must go back for the titanium implants. The problem is...I MUST GET 11 (ELEVEN) IMPLANTS and I am absolutely torn if I should do it or not. I have just turned 35 years old and I have a small child to care for nd I dont want to have beautiful teeth at the expense of my...good health.
Avatar m tn You can also contact your local dental society to see if there are any local free or low cost clinics which provide dental care as well.
Avatar m tn I had two dental implants put on me today, by my dentist he used local anesthesia, can I expect a sore throat as a side effect ? after the local anesthesias effect went away ? i am experiencing a sore throat after the operation.
Avatar m tn I have attempted (2) DENTAL IMPLANTS and have had (2) IMPLANT rejections. With my first implant, my DENTIST thought that the implant's threads were too small thus not grabbing enough bone so a month or two later he retried the implant with another implant with larger grooves that that one seemed to set better, more securely and after a two week visit it seemed to be doing fine because XRAYS showed bone growing aound it at it was suppose to.
Avatar m tn I am planning on getting them removed soon due to recurrent infections and I was wondering if it is more cost effective to get a dental insurance plan or pay out of pocket. What are the typical cost to remove something like this? Will there be surgery required? How much will a good insurance plan cover or is it more cost effective to just pay out of pocket? Thank you.
Avatar n tn I read a post in which a person at pediatric dental clinic gave the suggestion to a parent of a disabled child that she try a molt mouth prop for dental hygiene for her disabled child. She stated that the place she works sells them for about $50. i'm wondering if I could purchase for my son as our dentist has recommended we get one for our disabled son for whom oral hygiene is an extreme challenge but the cost is $150 which we can't afford. Any help?
Avatar m tn He is going to borrow some money from someone else for the operation. But he got to know the cost of the operation. He tried to ask the hospital but they said only if he registered and made appointment for the surgery, otherwise they won't disclose anything about the cost of the operation. And the doctor know nothing about the price.
Avatar f tn Hello all, I'm 30 years old and am facing a huge decision that will change the way I feel about my smile and greatly affect the way I look for the rest of my life. I've turned to a forum to ask for help because who better to ask than those that are in the same boat or have been there before. I've had periodontal disease for the last 3 years and was diagnosed with a severe case just a week ago. My periodontist suggests that I should undergo a flap operation.
645390 tn?1338555377 Oh Michelle, what a mess! I do hope you actually need all that dental work, especially considering the cost. I know I've read that often the real cause is the TN. But I guess if the endodontist found lots of decay, then that is at least contributing to the problem. Arrgghh, do you have dental insurance? That's so much help. Even if you still have to pay a lot, it's much much less than without insurance. I'm sorry your little guy is sick.
Avatar f tn The students are supervised by dentists who are specialists in what they do. The cost is much less than at a dental office.
Avatar m tn I Don't know when to have dental appointment with a dental doctor. Can You suggest me if i brush my teeth daily do i still have to go for A dental doctor.
Avatar n tn If there is a dental school in your area, or in a nearby city, they often have clinics where people can receive dental care at low cost. If there is a hospital in the region that has a medical school, you might call the medical school and ask if they had any dental clinics. Alternately, if there are any low-cost medical clinics in your city, you could ask them if they know of any source for low-cost dental care. I hope you find a way to get your teeth taking care of soon. Feel better.
Avatar m tn Insurance cost us so much each month, we could not pay for our own dental needs and went years without a dental check-up. My teeth had no issues, so I continued to go about my life and now that I am on Medicare, I can once again afford dental visits. My first visit the dentist told me I have severe bone loss and they want to remove all my teeth and add bone grafts from a cadaver to my jaw line and fit me with dentures. This is totally shocking, as I have no issues with my teeth at all.
Avatar m tn The vet says that even if he makes it through surgery then the outcome will depend on exactly what is going on. She mentioned that it may be dental disease or stomatitas. If the latter then the operation may still not fix the problem, and we will be back to some sort of management. Are there any other options that we could consider? We would be so deeply grateful for any advice, however minor.
Avatar n tn I would like to know why laughing gas (nitrous oxide) is not a good option for my daughter to undertake while receiving dental care as she needs to be sedated. I am told that she needs to be adminstered the normal anesthesia as if she were receiving a surgery in a hospital. I understand that a cardiologist as well as the anesthesiologist should be present during the care (dental), but why specifically is laughing gas more hard on her system?
Avatar n tn My dentist says I'm clenching my teeth and need a night guard. Its going to cost way more than I can spend. Has anyone used those over the counter varieties of dental guards? I tried the one you boil and bite to fit. Its too bulky and makes me feel like I'm choking. Do any of these products pose a choking hazard? If I can't wear this type, what are the chances I could wear any other or even the custom made one?
Avatar m tn I also have braces so he also told me that the crown will be placed when the braces are removed. But looking at the cost and the amount of care to be taken, I am holding back. I would prefer extraction because anyway it isnt helping me in chewing and two of my teeth need filling so i would first spend money on saving them. What should i do?
