Avatar f tn Also should I be worried about the brown spot? And my last question is, should I apply towards dental insurance or could New Mexico medicaid cover all the expenses? My teeth never hurt but fillings are necessary as well as braces.
Avatar m tn The feedback from her dentist is that there will be no need for a dental implant to replace the 1st molar that was already extracted, as that space will be used to resolve the crowding issue through braces. Her questions: 1. Is that a perfectly ok course of action to follow? Leaving the 1st molar gap as is and allowing braces to fill the space? 2.
Avatar n tn I'm not an orthodontist, but I can tell you a few things as an adult who just finished having braces...Yes, teeth can be crooked after taking the braces off, especially when patients aren't compliant about following through with the retainment plan set out by the orthodontist, but even then there are some cases where teeth move back into their crooked position. There are lots of pros to braces.
Avatar n tn I believe the insurance is Assurant Dental. I am self-employed and this is what the insurance agent that works for the union that I am a member of recommended. Any comments on this?
Avatar n tn I understand exactly what you mean. I had dental through the state when I was little. My mother had brought me to the dentist, some Indian woman, she told my mother every tooth in my mouth need root canals and recommended I get braces. I had cavities. She refused to fill them. So we went ahead with braces. Had many problems there. Got the braces off after 1/2 a year and went back to her. My cavities were out of control by then.
Avatar f tn and now is ready to have something permanent done. I am a single parent that works full time I have dental and medical insurance but still cannot afford this.
1216952 tn?1283675247 I was sent for a consultation for the removal of the tooth and an estimate of what is going to be done was sent to my dental benefits insurance company. The estimate noted: Extract Erupt Tooth/Exposed root, Splinting - Extracoronal, Bone Graft and Resorbable Barrier. My insurance company will not pay for the Splinting - Extracoronal, Bone Graft and Resorbable Barrier.
Avatar n tn Now I am 28 and went to the Dentist to get this taken care of and I do have dental insurance and the baby tooth is 2 from the front so I just cant have it pulled out I would have a gap and it would show :( so the dentist told me I have to get the baby tooth pulled and get braces on top and bottom to have the adult tooth push and turn to the front. Now this seems like too much to go through ..I mean Im too old for braces and they cost almost 5000.00 out of pocket.
358699 tn?1297646442 Since I haven't had dental insurance in many years, I've neglected my dental health. I do brush my teeth everyday, floss, and use mouthwash. Last year I had a back molar removed because I cracked it and could not afford a crown. My middle teeth on the bottom are beginning to shift. I had braces as a teenager and my teeth were very straight. My gums bleed on the bottom every time I brush. I know this is a sign a periodontal disease or maybe gingivitis?
Avatar n tn Can I get any dental work that doesn't involve amnesia like braces or cleaning while I'm pregnant
Avatar n tn One of the reputed dental specialist in a dentistry clinic in Ajax ( Appleton dental ) has whom I had consulted recommended me to wear braces which can lead my teeth properly aligned. I’m totally unaware of this procedure. Which one is the most preferable - the invisalign or traditional braces? Can anyone share their experience who has got braces?

Avatar f tn He's been dealing with tooth pain and my insurance covers very little found out it'll be around $800.00 tip brave two extractions. I'm waiting till Dec1st 2016 when my second dental insurance kicks in.until than can i use clarithromycin 500 mg to help ease the pain? It was mine but i never had to use it.
1196205 tn?1265141071 scottma is correct if you are low income there are usually state supported clinics you can go to with proof of income that provide a sliding scale for payments. these provide basic dental care so dont expect cosmetic procedures, braces, or root canal/ crowns. they might provide necessary extractions.
Avatar n tn I've been told that our health insurance may pay for it, but I did not know the actual name of the medical conditon - thank you. She also has an underbite for which she is wearing the headgear at night, but I don't think it's working since I see little if any improvement. Are there other options re: this condition? Thanks.
Avatar f tn any one knows if medical covers dental I'm 28 weeks pregnant and I'm having pain since last night and don't know what to do or what to drink please help
Avatar n tn what's so good about having braces? Are they only for a better appearance? I read that misaligned teeth can cause tooth decay, but can't you just brush your teeth to avoid tooth decay? I also read that misaligned teeth can affect your speech and chewing, but by how much? Can misaligned teeth affect you so badly that you absolutely can't chew or speak intelligibly? And if yes, does it only happen if your teeth are very misaligned?
Avatar m tn I read that dental work may cause an outbreak if i have hsv, but i'm not sure if i do since i've never gotten an outbreak but have dated people with oral herpes, but they've never suffered an outbreak after the initial. whats the % of outbreaks caused by dental works? since i need to get a tooth removed for braces.
Avatar m tn So, when I was a kid, I had braces. My teeth were really messed up. The orthodontist fixed all my visible teeth, so when I smile, my teeth look good. But he didnt fix my back teeth. My back teeth on both sides curve in a lot to where my tongue barely has any space. Its always bothered me. A few days ago, I had a problem with the perminant retainer that I had put in when I was 18. While I was at the orthodontist ( a different ortho..
Avatar f tn Thanks alot for the reply. The crown is permanently fixed. Does this mean I have to have it removed & get a new one made to close the 'open margin'? I was thinking of having the 2 teeth (16 & 14) fitted with individual crowns & removing the long double crown I have now - which is covering the gap. Does it make dental sense to have individual crowns done & then getting braces fixed to close the gap?
Avatar f tn It depends on the plan you pick but most do. I have Community Health Choice and it covers all of that.
Avatar n tn that sucks that your guys state insurance is ****. i have mine through the department of social and health services (DSHS) here in washington and its awesome..it covers everything my baby, me, dental and vision..and all i had to do was send in 2 months worth of pay stubs and fill out a paper..good luck to all of you!
Avatar m tn My dentist ( Pearl Dental ) in Burlington, told me that I can get a mini implant, but one of my teeth maybe cut off in order to make space. My friends also told me that uprighting the tipped molar is the best option for me and I can do a dental implant in place of the missing tooth. While checking online I found a person telling like, cutting teeth is not a good plan and it is better to go for braces. But, I don’t think he is right and I choose to go with my dentist. What you think?
