insurance

Avatar n tn hi, i don't have any dental insurance so I need to pick and choose which tests and procedures at the dentist are really needed. I ask you this because I hope to find unbiased opinion. Last time I skipped the peridontal xray, but got the cavity xray and cleaning...he found 2 tiny cavities that ran me $400 out of my pocket but later a hygenist said maybe that wasn't necessary as the decay could have been reversed... So what do I "really" need..
Avatar f tn Ok mommys that have medicaid . Will I get denied if I already have dental insurance but not health insurance?
Avatar f tn ask friends, relatives, and coworkers who they see and meet different dentists before you make an appointment to have work done. most dental offices are happy to schedule a mini appointment at no charge for a quick tour and a chance to meet the various employees.
Avatar f tn There are five types of coverage that may carry an additional waiting period: prescriptions, vision, dental, mental health, and substance abuse treatment. "If the health plan wants to, they can look back at prior coverage to see if you had those services," says Karen Pollitz, a health policy researcher at Georgetown. "If you didn't, then they can apply a separate pre-ex on those coverages.
Avatar f tn I applied as soon as I found out I was pregnant because my insurance doesn't cover anything for pregnancy. I filled out all the paperwork and got a card in the mail but its not active. The doctors here won't see me until the card is permanent. I am very frustrated. I won't be able to see a doctor until I am nearly 13 weeks. I broke down in the car as hubby drove me home. It took my sister 5 days to get her permanent card.
Avatar n tn These are real insurance policies but undoubtedly they will be more expensive, and they will prorbably have waiting peroiods. Good individual dental insurance plans are hard to fing these days, but I am always searching for my patients who have none. Good luck, and remember that you get what you pay for.

946207 tn?1246134385 My mouth is full of dental problems- I have 8 abcessed teeth. One bad infection is in one of my front teeth that hurts all the way up under my sinus cavity. I HAVE TO be sedated at the dentist (been this way since I was young- had abusive dentist when I was little girl who caused me alot of pain). NO low-income dental clinics will sedate me and I can't afford a regular dentist/oral surgeon/sedation. I am 43 yo tomorrow and am going to die from these infections in my mouth.
485259 tn?1519047026 The bad part of all of this now is While I have a treatment date for 5 hours of dental work ( getting most of it done in one session) I no longer have dental insurance and even at a Dental school/clinic the total cost is just about 15,000.00. SO I began with great fear of getting more dental work done as you were, I then had some hope the treatment could happen in a TN friendly enviorment, but now I am once again feeling hopless because of the Cost.
Avatar f tn He offered to start DMD now but we talked and agreed that waiting a short period of time to do another MRI was at my comfort level. So, I have one this coming Tuesday and I am so nervous about it. I have had 5 already so I'm not sure what my problem is with this one...maybe that this is the "last" test that will either confirm or keep me in limbo land. Good luck to you. I hope you find someone who listens and does not count you out because you had a negative LP!
Avatar f tn I figured I would keep that medicine and take only if it flared back up while I was waiting for dental insurance to kick in at some point. Well, still looking for a job and now it's starting back up. I'm so afraid to take it because of the fear of how long it will be before I find a job. Even if I find a job I will try to at least apply for Care Credit to help pay for the treatments even if I don't necessarily have dental insurance to cover it yet at that point.
Avatar f tn He's been dealing with tooth pain and my insurance covers very little found out it'll be around $800.00 tip brave two extractions. I'm waiting till Dec1st 2016 when my second dental insurance kicks in.until than can i use clarithromycin 500 mg to help ease the pain? It was mine but i never had to use it.
Avatar m tn "Industry experts like Larry Levitt, of the Kaiser Family Foundation, say the insurance companies have no choice. "What we're seeing now is reality coming into play," he said. Obamacare forces them to drop many of their plans that don't meet the law's 10 minimum standards, including maternity care, emergency visits, mental health treatment and even pediatric dental care." http://www.cbsnews.
620877 tn?1282764097 I work for a small company and I do not have those benefits, medical, dental, etc. I am fortunate that my husbands medical insurance is so comprehensive. I spoke to an insurance broker about my situation: not diagnosed, but being investigated and that my neuro is highly suspicious that I have MS.
Avatar f tn Hi. I'm supposed to be 6w1d today and have been spotting on and off for a week now. I have had a miscarriage a year ago and believe I am having another one. Is there anything I can do, I am waiting on insurance letter before I am able to choose a doctor and can't really afford another hospital bill.
Avatar f tn ) Maybe there is just a waiting period until certain treaments/conditions are covered. Let us know how it goes and if the company is helpful! Good luck. I know how you feel. I have been thru this mess before! Take care.
1007532 tn?1332767926 When I had an absent period, it was because of a medical problem - hyperprolactenemia. (A pituitary tumour). This stopped my ovulation for 2 years, until I was given Dostinex which allowed me to ovulate and conceive. I am just now pregnant with number 2! Not to say that this is your specific problem, but it was mine, and sometimes more often happens to others and they do not know. I had to see an endocrinologist to learn about this.
Avatar f tn my insurance denied the procedure (not sure if its not a covered bene or if theres a waiting period) but regardless the office is taking no responsibility for the root canal... being that the pain wa a result of the crowns procedure...i dont feel they coated the teeth enough beofre putting on the crowns and also dont remember much water in the drilling... Im leaving the dentist and plan to go to an endodontist...
Avatar n tn I am disabled on Original Medicare, have no intent to buy private insurance... I am wondering, is it possible for an individual to get real, stand alone dental insurance? Everything I've looked at caps yearly benefits at $1,000 or so which is completely insulting considering the premiums are close to half of that. Where can you buy dental insurance that gives you "REAL" coverage?
Avatar f tn 60 days, no period, very little pain/discomfort. negative blood test and urine tests..... every now and then i have a sudden poke of discomfort but as far as pain goes it would be like a one on a scale of 1-10. i dont have health insurance. what should i do?
Avatar n tn both are brand new members and are pushing the low cost dental cards. i have checked into these cards since i have no insurance. i have noticed that the only dentists in my area that accept them i wouldnt trust taking care of my plants when i am on vacation forget trusting them with my teeth. there are large dental offices that offer such things as rock bottom prices on dentures that advertise on tv all the time. they are happy to accept these cards.
Avatar m tn Specialty pharmacy also told us they canot mail the medication to us becuase there is a pre exsiting waiting period on his policy. Called ins. again, they keep denying the coverage over the phone. What should we do in this case? We did not know about this illness until October. Do they have a right to deny? Is there a way around this? File a complaint/ appeal? Get medication somewhere else? Please help.
Avatar f tn It has taken all this time to get here with insurance and doctor referrals. Still in daily pain. No pain reliever works. Finally get approved to have removal of dental implants. Make appointment. Now oral surgeon tells insurance (so insurance papers say) that he doesn't think implants are causing the problem so insurance denies surgery. I need help - I am in pain daily. I need a lawyer too. I was so close to not having open sores and daily headaches.
230262 tn?1316645934 Two of my front teeth just BROKE OFF today now!! I am absolutely horrified, it looks TERRIBLE as you might imagine and I have NO insurance at all. How am I gonna get this fixed?? Avatar f tn I am in my 13th week and I still haven't seen a doctor because I have no insurance and cannot get insurance until November 14 because of Obama care. I am really stressed. I've been taking a prenatal vitamin since I found out but I have a history of preterm birth so I am very worried. Does anyone have any advice on what I should do until I get insurance?
