insurance

Avatar n tn care for your teeth/gums is usually considered dental care and will be covered by you detnal insurance only, regardless of other systemic conditions one may have. You are right when you say gingivitis and diabetes are related, but just because you have diabetes does not mean your gingivitis stems from it. most adults have gingivitis, which is a mild inflammation of the gum tissue. It should be able to be addressed within the parameters of your $1000 maximum. treatment is not that involved.
Avatar n tn I'm in the same boat but with a MORAL in my left side I take Tylenol and orajel maximum toothache gel to calm the pain, for some reason I live here in Texas and I don't have dental insurance with my pregnancy insurance.
Avatar n tn hi, i don't have any dental insurance so I need to pick and choose which tests and procedures at the dentist are really needed. I ask you this because I hope to find unbiased opinion. Last time I skipped the peridontal xray, but got the cavity xray and cleaning...he found 2 tiny cavities that ran me $400 out of my pocket but later a hygenist said maybe that wasn't necessary as the decay could have been reversed... So what do I "really" need..
Avatar m tn I would say no because even if you are burning through the meds quicker than normal if you take more than what is recommended you are still putting your self at risk for some bad side effects like liver and kidney damage you should only take what is recommended per day or less to be safe try some orajel pm its better than the regular kind because it is thicker and last longer maybe that will help you get through the pain until time to take the next dose unless there is anyway you can get to a dr
Avatar m tn The bills are quite hefty for all this work and she has no insurance over there; she would very much prefer to spread the cost out by delaying the braces until late August. Given that the 1st molar has already just been extracted, and the wisdom teeth can follow either in late July or early August, would this be a feasible orthodontic plan? Or would delaying braces for another 6-8 weeks cause issue for the empty 1st molar socket?
946207 tn?1246134385 My mouth is full of dental problems- I have 8 abcessed teeth. One bad infection is in one of my front teeth that hurts all the way up under my sinus cavity. I HAVE TO be sedated at the dentist (been this way since I was young- had abusive dentist when I was little girl who caused me alot of pain). NO low-income dental clinics will sedate me and I can't afford a regular dentist/oral surgeon/sedation. I am 43 yo tomorrow and am going to die from these infections in my mouth.
Avatar f tn ask friends, relatives, and coworkers who they see and meet different dentists before you make an appointment to have work done. most dental offices are happy to schedule a mini appointment at no charge for a quick tour and a chance to meet the various employees.
Avatar f tn No. Your insurance will hopefully. PIP (personal injury protection) kicks in immediately. Then your insurance goes after them for coverage. At least that's how it works here.
Avatar f tn I am also using flouride 2x a day to decrease sensitivity. Of course, the onlay used up my dental insurance benefit...so I would also like to wait on the root canal until January when insurance will cover it if possible.
Avatar n tn I am disabled on Original Medicare, have no intent to buy private insurance... I am wondering, is it possible for an individual to get real, stand alone dental insurance? Everything I've looked at caps yearly benefits at $1,000 or so which is completely insulting considering the premiums are close to half of that. Where can you buy dental insurance that gives you "REAL" coverage?
Avatar n tn both are brand new members and are pushing the low cost dental cards. i have checked into these cards since i have no insurance. i have noticed that the only dentists in my area that accept them i wouldnt trust taking care of my plants when i am on vacation forget trusting them with my teeth. there are large dental offices that offer such things as rock bottom prices on dentures that advertise on tv all the time. they are happy to accept these cards.
Avatar n tn I think the combination short-acting opioids are not good for chronic pain patients as daily ingestion of tylenol on a long term basis is not recommended. The current maximum dose of tylenol per day is 4,000 mg (1,000 mg maximum per single dose); however, there are new lower limits being provided by the pharmaceutical companies that suggest a 2,600 mg maximum per day.
Avatar f tn I've been patiently waiting for the past year to get back on track and feel good since having my son and having Postpartum thyroiditis, and i think i've had only a few brief times that i've actually felt good "meaning no thyroid symptoms" for the past year, but then my levels haven't been "in range" either, but are closer now. I'm mostly hypo symptoms, but have "brief episodes" of hyper symptoms like right now...
1099361 tn?1258662257 m sorry for you, almost as I am for me... I have spent a fortune on my teeth all my life.. Now, I am disabled.. no insurance. none.. Avatar f tn Ok mommys that have medicaid . Will I get denied if I already have dental insurance but not health insurance?
Avatar n tn My husband (40 y/o,healthy)and I (40 y/o, healthy) are looking to get our health insurance coverage from next present. Right now we are on cobra GHI( extension from my previous work place) but they are asking me to change to EMPIRE PPO or EPO since they will not have GHI. I did not have dental and vision coverage previously but even if I want it they are saying they cannot add it. They are also asking for a one year committment.
398059 tn?1447945633 m trying to get Copaxone. I have an individual BCBS plan because my employer only offers dental ins. My maximum yearly prescription benefit is $2500 and as you probably know Copaxone will run about $2200/mo. I applied to NORD but I've heard they'll probably deny me. I wish I had a doctor that would help me in some way (making calls, writing letters, etc.) I'm feeling pretty helpless.
Avatar f tn I was interested in seeing how many of us have health insurance vs no health insurance.
Avatar n tn I did some quick research on Assurant dental. It is NOT Insurance. It is a "savings plan". Any plan that advertises things like "no deductibles" no claim forms" no maximums" is NOT insurance. There are no deductibles, maximums, or claim forms because the "insurance" DOES NOT PAY ANYTHING TOWARDS YOUR CARE. It is basically a referral service whereby you are give a list of dentists who agree to accept very low fees on SOME (but in no way all) services.
Avatar f tn Hey Sarah I too am a college student looking for health insurance, I was curios to know what you chose and what worked for you. Also did you add dental to your health insurance, I cant find many quotes with both to know how much together they would cost.
Avatar f tn Also, see if there is a birth center near you. I know our local BC has options for families with no insurance. The total out of pocket to deliver there and be seen throughout the pregnancy is about $4500 compared to 3x that amount about the hospital.
Avatar m tn ve been handling much better in the past few months thanks to medication and exercises, but I went to the dentist yesterday and my fears have been exacerbated to the maximum. I had profilaxis done and the dentist asked me to close my mouth around the tube that absorbs all the fluids. Then this morning I read that it's a bad practica and can cause cross contamination.
1191960 tn?1280074080 m on my third try of IUI, and I noticed that some of you are covered through your insurance. I was just wondering what insurance helps with the cost of treatments, as SAG does not. Thanks for any input!
Avatar f tn My teeth and gums are on fire! There's no swelling, just throbing aches. I don't have dental insurance. Besides using Orajel, what are natural ways to relieve tooth and gum pains that won't hurt my baby?
