946207 tn?1246134385 My mouth is full of dental problems- I have 8 abcessed teeth. One bad infection is in one of my front teeth that hurts all the way up under my sinus cavity. I HAVE TO be sedated at the dentist (been this way since I was young- had abusive dentist when I was little girl who caused me alot of pain). NO low-income dental clinics will sedate me and I can't afford a regular dentist/oral surgeon/sedation. I am 43 yo tomorrow and am going to die from these infections in my mouth.
Avatar n tn ll be able to see a mobile dental service for low-income or people without dental insurance. So, if I get accepted, I'll be able to get my teeth checked until then I'm out of luck.
1196205 tn?1265141071 and rarely (if ever) work for free. scottma is correct if you are low income there are usually state supported clinics you can go to with proof of income that provide a sliding scale for payments. these provide basic dental care so dont expect cosmetic procedures, braces, or root canal/ crowns. they might provide necessary extractions.
Avatar f tn Ok mommys that have medicaid . Will I get denied if I already have dental insurance but not health insurance?
Avatar f tn I have had one tooth come out and currently have three that are loose and are preventing me from eating anything solid. I think I might have periodontal gum disease advanced stage. I am homeless with no insurance or income. I don't know what to do. How can I get dental care for this immediately? Any assistance programs or grants or something? I've looked up stuff til my eyes hurt and haven't been able to find assistance. Have pics of teeth if needed.
Avatar n tn Many places in the US offer low-cost or free dental care to low-income residents. They often have restrictions, but call your local health department or check out these sites (we aren't vouching for them, nor the sites' accuracy, so be sure to do the research): http://www.freedentalcare.us/ http://dentallifeline.
1176986 tn?1264917842 BadgerCare at a reduced or adjusted rate dependant upon your income. For low income families it can be very affordable. My employer offer health insurance but the state found it too costly for some of our empoyess, usually single mothers. They were allowed to purchase BadgerCare at a very reduced rate and refuse the more costly employer offered health insurance. My figures may not be exactly correct but that is the jest of BadgerCare.
230262 tn?1316645934 Two of my front teeth just BROKE OFF today now!! I am absolutely horrified, it looks TERRIBLE as you might imagine and I have NO insurance at all. How am I gonna get this fixed?? These proofreading jobs are slowwww as all get out and certainly dont pay enough anyhow to finance the dental work I need (collectively I need 10 Grand to get all my teeth fixed- no BS that is the estimate I have printed out here and thats with their "discount special offer"!!!
Avatar f tn Google or look in your local phone book for dental schools. If you have no income or insurance they will usually do the work for free. I know several people who have went to dental schools and are very happy with the care.
1253246 tn?1332073310 should I try to get some type of disabiliyt insurance now?How does all this work.I need an income if for some reason tx is hard for me.Anybody got any suggestions???????????? HELP!!!!! I want all my bases covered.
620877 tn?1282764097 I should clarify that I was talking about individual disability income insurance. It is a private policy (that I would pay for out of my own pocket) that protects your income if you become disabled long term. Social security disability is the same thing, but that is a part of the goverment plan that we can access (hopefully) if we are disabled. There is also group disability policies that are offered by employers as a part of your benefits - medical, dental, etc.
Avatar n tn You should definitely be on prenatal vitamins if you are not, but you really need to go to the dentist. Call your County health department and explain your situation, don't fail to mention that you are pregnant. See what services they have for people with low or no income. Also see if your local dentist's association has anyone who will take payments. It is very bad for a pregnant women to have cavities (if that is what is going on) because it can put bacteria into her system.
Avatar f tn I am so sorry to hear of your pain. From what I understand there are teaching dental schools that take people. Depending on where you live there might be something. I would do a search it Also from what my dentist said, if people have dental ins he knocks off quite a bit of his normal dental fees. You could try finding an inexpensive dental plan and see if that will help. Hospitals in your area might have knowledge of dental services on a sliding scale for people on low income.
Avatar f tn You will qualify because you are pregnant but his income may count against you after marriage.
322464 tn?1194364154 This a program that donates dental work to those who do not have dental insurance or state funded insurance. I think there is some type of income standards, but it is worth a try. What you would have to do is fill out all paperwork to see if you meet the qualifications for the program. They would then set you up for a exmination with one of the local participating dentist. The dentist then lays out all work needed and the time frame. Good Luck.
Avatar n tn I know once u turn 21 u wont get dental u can still qualify for medical just not for dental thatswt they told me, but currently i get all benefits since im pregnant after pregnancy i go back to regular medical,
Avatar n tn Is there any reason you don't want medicaid? Just wondering about that... I am self-employed and insurance is always a thorn in my side. I make too much for medicaid and too little for traditional maternity insurance. I found it cheaper to carry a insurance policy on myself and pay my maternity fees out of pocket. Ironically, I save money doing it this way. Most doctors and midwives will give you the option of a payment plan if you don't qualify for medicaid.
529482 tn?1212781495 Im am a 20 year old mother of 2 i am a 32 A -cup iv tried everything i could to get a loan to help me out to get new breast im done having children and have a very low income i have avery low self Es-steam because of my very flat chest wit strech marks ect..
Avatar f tn where I live we have a place called Clinicas, and its based on your income, no one is refused treatment due to income. It is a sliding fee scale which can be zero depends on income. Check and see if there is one in your town. Wishing you the best!
Avatar f tn I’m a Type I who doesn’t have any insurance either and these types of clinics have worked for me—I have received very low cost doctor’s visits and lab work. https://www.pparx.org/FreeClinicFinder.php http://findahealthcenter.hrsa.gov/ Both of these links, once you enter your information, will tell you the nearest free and low cost clinics; there usually are several clinics to choose from. The website www.needymeds.
Avatar f tn I was interested in seeing how many of us have health insurance vs no health insurance.
Avatar f tn Yup just income. I'm sure you'll be accepted.
Avatar f tn call social service if you are low income. if you are having such a hard time dentures may be appropriate. try to avoid dental mills that advertise really cheap rates. everyone that i know that have tried these places have ended up in worse shape than when they went in. try local dentists that have an established practice. friends, family, and even customers will be able to recommend their dentists. dont give up hope! your family needs you!
Avatar n tn its getting more and more difficult to find free or low cost dental care. even dental schools have raised their rates considerably. if you are unable to work due to disability you can file for government aid. if not you can find a local dentist who will accept payment plans. when i found out i needed a root canal i found a second job as a grocery checker until i payed it off. the emergency room will not fix your teeth.
Avatar f tn I have a medical plan so Im going to see my gyn next week... Do you know if medicaid if available for woman that does not have insurance? I guess my doctor is going to tell me but Im worried about it and the appointment is in one week...
Avatar f tn m going to apply tomorrow but I think I make to much the income requirements are really low since I live in a big city when I went to apply before I made to much and I'm due in 26 days so I don't think I will have it in time anyway :(
