I am just getting my own dental insurance next month, so I believe I would have to wait a year to see a periodontist with this particular insurance. If you have any suggestions on how to keep my gums as healthy as possible, so that I can avoid more problems, please let me know. Thanks so much.

s not just cleaning like brightening your teeth and it actually may have been more. Though it was with my place of insurance (health) I do not have dental insurance, just medical. This was in MN. (not MX) Stuff is cheaper here but I don't feel safe do anything medical or dental here. Thanks for the list of possibilities. The only one I can rule out is pregnancy. I'll research the rest. hi, i don't have any dental insurance so I need to pick and choose which tests and procedures at the dentist are really needed. I ask you this because I hope to find unbiased opinion. Last time I skipped the peridontal xray, but got the cavity xray and cleaning...he found 2 tiny cavities that ran me $400 out of my pocket but later a hygenist said maybe that wasn't necessary as the decay could have been reversed... So what do I "really" need..

yes you too can have a dental plan that most reputable dentists will not accept! i would love to go to a dental mill full of new, inexperienced dentists.

I called my insurance company to check on coverage, they do cover the consultation but there was a long list of treatments they won't cover if they are found to be dental in nature. Does anyone know how a dr might find the TMJ issues medical in nature?

My husband (40 y/o,healthy)and I (40 y/o, healthy) are looking to get our health insurance coverage from next present. Right now we are on cobra GHI( extension from my previous work place) but they are asking me to change to EMPIRE PPO or EPO since they will not have GHI. Hello, I can't remember the last time I was at the dentist but at the time the dentist said I had no cavities. Now I'm 21 and I have a cavity in on of my top molars. I don't know what to do, I don't have dental insurance and I really don't have the money to get it fixed. I don't want to wait any longer and have it get any worse but I don't have the extra arm and a leg the dentists charge.

Do you live in a city that has dental teaching facilities.Even the private dental assistant and technician courses can clean your teeth for much less than normal and if there is a university that has a dental college,you can go there cheaper.I suppose all the opiates masked any pain,but ibuprofen is still the best pain reliever for dental pain.

I am so far a healthy 43 year old/m in pa. I am trying to decide which health insurance plan will be good for my situation and I am looking for some opinions here. This Month my group plan ends and I can take cobra but there is no financial benefit to taking my same PPO plan which gives me to price break for being unemployed. So I am trying to look at this at a meaningful way. Since my PPO was $475/m plue $29 dental I just cant be paying that on my own now.

Also, see if there is a birth center near you. I know our local BC has options for families with no insurance. The total out of pocket to deliver there and be seen throughout the pregnancy is about $4500 compared to 3x that amount about the hospital.

Hello Dysautonomia Community! I just wanted to start a list of ideas for keeping both cool, and conscious this summer. I'm sure those are top priorities for everyone. The summer weather can be particularly troublesome for many of us, and so I was thinking that it would be completely great if we could all share as many ideas as we could think of with one another. I will start, but please feel free to share any idea that comes to mind.

So, after months of being on the waiting list I finally went in for cleaning, and I told the dental hygenist about the bump, she felt it and thought I should have an X-ray. The X-ray showed that it was absessed, and so I had to go in for dental work. It took some time for them to work on it, they had to keep cleaning it out. They finally finished about january or febuary. During all this time my lymphnodes would swell up in my neck, armpits and groin area, real big. And it still happens.

My mouth is full of dental problems- I have 8 abcessed teeth. One bad infection is in one of my front teeth that hurts all the way up under my sinus cavity. I HAVE TO be sedated at the dentist (been this way since I was young- had abusive dentist when I was little girl who caused me alot of pain). NO low-income dental clinics will sedate me and I can't afford a regular dentist/oral surgeon/sedation. I am 43 yo tomorrow and am going to die from these infections in my mouth.
