Avatar f tn I take excellent care of my teeth. I floss daily, brush 2 -3x daily, change my toothbrush often, avoid dark colas and coffee and staining foods like blueberries, and I use Biotene mouthwash (the label says it "brings out the natural whiteness of teeth.") but still my teeth looking super dull lately and not nearly as white as they used to be. I am 35 now, but is there anything other than age that could be contributing to the "aging" look to my teeth?
Avatar n tn Hi, Yes the baby can go on his insurance. you dont have to be married. When are you due?
Avatar n tn I am disabled on Original Medicare, have no intent to buy private insurance... I am wondering, is it possible for an individual to get real, stand alone dental insurance? Everything I've looked at caps yearly benefits at $1,000 or so which is completely insulting considering the premiums are close to half of that. Where can you buy dental insurance that gives you "REAL" coverage?
Avatar n tn I am just getting my own dental insurance next month, so I believe I would have to wait a year to see a periodontist with this particular insurance. If you have any suggestions on how to keep my gums as healthy as possible, so that I can avoid more problems, please let me know. Thanks so much.
Avatar m tn Hello, Gum bleeding can have different reasons. Are you taking any new medication ? Are you taking Aspirin ? Are you flossing daily ? Are you going to your cleanings every 6 month ? I had bleeding gums too. My Periodontist said I have some mild gum disease. I had to get a deep cleaning and some antibiotics on some areas. And I no bleeding since. If you have dental insurance I would go to the dentist or periodontist.
Avatar n tn calls that they no longer will call in anything after hours or on the weekends resulting in patients having to go to urgent care or emergency rooms resulting in more medical bills and insurance claims in turn resulting in higher insurance premiums it is all a vicous cycle that can't seem to be stopped. dr's want to help and that is what they are here for but they don't want to fuel our addictions (hope this made sense i am up past my bedtime....
Avatar f tn I have been in pain for a while and it is day five and I still have a small bump on my gum right above my teeth. How long until the full infection goes away. I am petrified as I have had this infection come and go for a while and the pain only increases. I'm due to have three teeth removed on Thursday. Then six root canals done a week or so after that. I honestly don't want to be in pain no more as I am a mom to two young kids one under two months old.
230262 tn?1316645934 I'm so sorry... I'm having the same problem, but on many teeth... infections.. Called Dr, nothing they can do, but I can come in... So, I'm going to the doctor tomorrow. No dental insurance.. All my life I have spent a fortune, made sure to have dental insurance, now that I'm disabled... no dental...I'm gonna call Western Dental... See what they say.. Maybe pay payments or something.. I wish you luck... Soooooo very sorry really, I know your pain, believe me...
Avatar f tn and now is ready to have something permanent done. I am a single parent that works full time I have dental and medical insurance but still cannot afford this.
Avatar n tn I have dental insurance but as we all know the coverage has been less and less over the past few years so I looked into dental discount programs. Did you know that some dental providers will accept both insurance and a dental discount plan togeather? It took me about 5 phone calls but I know it was worth it. On my first visit I had 3-cavitys filled. The cost after my insurance was $144. factor in the dental discount plan and my out of pocket cost was only $14!!! Check it out at http://www.
Avatar n tn hi, i don't have any dental insurance so I need to pick and choose which tests and procedures at the dentist are really needed. I ask you this because I hope to find unbiased opinion. Last time I skipped the peridontal xray, but got the cavity xray and cleaning...he found 2 tiny cavities that ran me $400 out of my pocket but later a hygenist said maybe that wasn't necessary as the decay could have been reversed... So what do I "really" need..
Avatar n tn I haven’t been to the dentist I need over 10years. That’s how long it’s been since I had health insurance. My the are in bad shape, my gums have been receding for years and I just don’t know what to do. I’m scared my teeth are going to fall out and I’m only 32 years old. I’m so embarrassed. I don’t make much money so I simply just can’t afford to see a dentist.
Avatar f tn Hi Frrecks, I'm sorry that I don't know anything about the insurance, since we still have private insurance. It has to be so difficult to set aside the financial worries and concentrate on feeling better. I do know a lot of the DMD companies have programs to assist anyone without insurance. As for my private insurance cost, my employer just finished the open enrollment for next year and here is what I will be paying for my health insurance - $238.00 a month for me and my spouse.
Avatar n tn I am in my late twenties, missed regular dental cleaning (lost insurance) for almost 1.5 years, got my teeth cleaned yesterday and they measured mostly 4mm pockets along all of my molars, some 2/3's up front. I also have 2 k9's on the bottom jaw than have travelled way forward and are about 80% and 50% enclosed by other teeth so, certified by my dentist, impossible to clean effectively at home.
Avatar m tn So, when I was a kid, I had braces. My teeth were really messed up. The orthodontist fixed all my visible teeth, so when I smile, my teeth look good. But he didnt fix my back teeth. My back teeth on both sides curve in a lot to where my tongue barely has any space. Its always bothered me. A few days ago, I had a problem with the perminant retainer that I had put in when I was 18. While I was at the orthodontist ( a different ortho..
1027870 tn?1252056250 yes you too can have a dental plan that most reputable dentists will not accept! i would love to go to a dental mill full of new, inexperienced dentists.
Avatar m tn So I'm new not only to this site, but forums in general so please forgive my lack of knowledge. I had a bridge on teeth numbers 6-11, with anchor teeth on 6,7,8, and 11 with false on 9 and 10. The work was done mostly pro bono with me just paying the lab fees by my dental assistant best friend's dentist. He pulled 9 and 10, grinded down 6,7,8, and 11 and gave me a temp.
Avatar f tn Hey Sarah I too am a college student looking for health insurance, I was curios to know what you chose and what worked for you. Also did you add dental to your health insurance, I cant find many quotes with both to know how much together they would cost.
Avatar m tn I am planning on getting them removed soon due to recurrent infections and I was wondering if it is more cost effective to get a dental insurance plan or pay out of pocket. What are the typical cost to remove something like this? Will there be surgery required? How much will a good insurance plan cover or is it more cost effective to just pay out of pocket? Thank you.
Avatar f tn I feel like my dentist should be accountable for my post root canal/crown pain I am having. I dont have dental insurance and it is killing me financially. I got my root canal done and mine was a little over a grand. The crown was about $600. Some dentists allow you to pay monthly. Good luck to you!
Avatar n tn well I won't be getting my dental insurance till july and the half broken part is still in my gum. Getting a crown is expensive. well I need details on what to do.
Avatar n tn Right now we are on cobra GHI( extension from my previous work place) but they are asking me to change to EMPIRE PPO or EPO since they will not have GHI. I did not have dental and vision coverage previously but even if I want it they are saying they cannot add it. They are also asking for a one year committment. My questions: Is there any individualized plans with not very high premium and good coverage in NY?
1099361 tn?1258662257 Do you live in a city that has dental teaching facilities.Even the private dental assistant and technician courses can clean your teeth for much less than normal and if there is a university that has a dental college, you can go there cheaper.I suppose all the opiates masked any pain, but ibuprofen is still the best pain reliever for dental pain.
