Avatar n tn My husband (40 y/o,healthy)and I (40 y/o, healthy) are looking to get our health insurance coverage from next present. Right now we are on cobra GHI( extension from my previous work place) but they are asking me to change to EMPIRE PPO or EPO since they will not have GHI. I did not have dental and vision coverage previously but even if I want it they are saying they cannot add it. They are also asking for a one year committment.
Avatar m tn I am planning on getting them removed soon due to recurrent infections and I was wondering if it is more cost effective to get a dental insurance plan or pay out of pocket. What are the typical cost to remove something like this? Will there be surgery required? How much will a good insurance plan cover or is it more cost effective to just pay out of pocket? Thank you.
Avatar f tn My husband had 2 retina detachment surgeries and 1 cataract surgery (as a result of the retina surgery), all within 5 weeks. He currently has silicone oil in his eye to hold the retina in place, and it's to be removed in 6 mos. He's being treated by an opthalmologist surgeon at our HMO insurance. Come this November, we have the option of switching to Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO.
Avatar n tn i suggest a ppo i have ppo and i get to go to any doctor that i choose but i have picked my steady doctors and like the other poster sdaid with an hmo you have to call and see if the doctors accept hmo and then you will have to get a referral to see a specialist, it might be cheapier to pick hmo but i say spend the extra money and go with ppo if you plan on going to the doctor like i have medical conditions in which i have to see an endcrinologist , my pcp vewry often and have to get labs drawn
Avatar m tn My husband and I both left there. We each tried two different dental offices which agree to accept what the insurance pays. I had a lousy experience at an appointment for a crown. My tongue broke out in white lesions even before I got out to my car. The pain and discomfort were unbearable in the office.
763297 tn?1281379425 Hi everyone I just went to my doctor who referred me to a fertility specialist. I need to get insurance that will help me pay for some of this because it looks like it's going to be very expensive. Can someone please tell me what some good companies are that aren't too expensive.
Avatar m tn clinics that support dental care. Or you can look into purchasing some dental insurance through your college? Or any combination of the above.

Avatar f tn Does anyone have individual health insurance (not with an employer) that covers ANY part of infertility? I mean meds, IUI or IVF. Thanks!
Avatar m tn If you are in an HMO that does not cover your drugs, maybe you will need to get a different HMO or maybe you will need to opt for original Medicare and then pick your Part D prescription coverage. You need to find out which Medicare Part D will cover Sovaldi and get a plan that will cover the drugs you are on. Research the various Part D policies and pick one that will cover Sovaldi. I was on Medicare when I treated.
Avatar n tn Can you tell me which insurance covers IVF, what's the name of the plan and how much is the premium? Thanks.
1207048 tn?1282174304 Holy cow this is taking way longer then I thought it would! Back in January I had a brain MRI, ordered by my PCP. He had also ordered c-spine and upper spine MRI's but insurance denied both of those. In early February I saw the first neurologist, who ordered a c-spine MRI. Insurance approved it, but before they approved it I "fired" that neuro and saw my current doctor (a neuro-opthamologist) for the first time.
419309 tn?1326503291 Due to misinformation from my pharmacy and current HMO as well a low prescription maximum, my husband may have to change insurance carriers during treatment. Besides making sure all his doctors are still "in-network", is there anything I should be checking on before changing policies? (Thankfully, pre-existing conditions are not at issue, so we're ok there.) Any pitfalls that I should be on the lookout for?
Avatar f tn My insurance company (a Medicare HMO Advantage Plan) just denied me treatment for HCV saying it is not medically necessary. What a bunch of crock, they have been denying everything lately. I asked my doctor's office for a letter and they said they would send one but it hasn't arrived before the deadline coming up. Help!
Avatar f tn I just found out that he never bothered to look into the PPO plan his work offers. We've had the HMO for 13 yrs. He said it was too expensive, the deductibles were too high, and it didn't cover preventive care like the HMO. With 4 kids, the preventive care is a big thing. I found out from a co-worker of his, that everything he thought is FALSE! Augh! It wouldn't cost us much more/month.
Avatar n tn hi, i don't have any dental insurance so I need to pick and choose which tests and procedures at the dentist are really needed. I ask you this because I hope to find unbiased opinion. Last time I skipped the peridontal xray, but got the cavity xray and cleaning...he found 2 tiny cavities that ran me $400 out of my pocket but later a hygenist said maybe that wasn't necessary as the decay could have been reversed... So what do I "really" need..
Avatar n tn My Fathers insurance company pays only for 20 pills per month, my ins co. pays for only 30, my friends ins. co pays for 31 each month....sorry, I don't think it is against the law, but I can't be sure of that legally...
3112100 tn?1379614659 My mom said its juss the full medical i believe..
Avatar f tn m also asking if anyone knows how much this costs to fill. since my insurance company/HMO is not helping with this. I'm seriuosly getting a part time job when I feel better to help pay for this.
Avatar n tn We have picked out, as his new primary care manager, an internal medicine doctor who is a participating provider with our insurance and willing to accept new patients. We have initiated the paperwork to make the switch official with the insurance company. (This can take two weeks or more to be official.) Here is my question - once the transfer is final, I think my son needs to make an appointment for a checku to get a chart started with this new doctor to make my son officially a patient.
1027870 tn?1252056250 yes you too can have a dental plan that most reputable dentists will not accept! i would love to go to a dental mill full of new, inexperienced dentists.
Avatar n tn t qualify for government sponsored health/dental insurance you can get a low cost dental from WorkingToday.org. I just signed up so I can't tell you if they're good. But they have many dentists under their plan. See this link: http://www.workingtoday.org/productsservices/dental.php $22.20 a month. Not bad.

Avatar n tn I have dental insurance but as we all know the coverage has been less and less over the past few years so I looked into dental discount programs. Did you know that some dental providers will accept both insurance and a dental discount plan togeather? It took me about 5 phone calls but I know it was worth it. On my first visit I had 3-cavitys filled. The cost after my insurance was $144. factor in the dental discount plan and my out of pocket cost was only $14!!! Check it out at http://www.
