1709021 tn?1308184343 Why is it that the government will allow medical insurance coverage in the social security area but when it comes to dental the only coverage goes for the children. This is good for the parents sake but....... Seniors need medical dental coverage. Most medical or lots of medical infections in the body may start from infected teeth and gums. This is why I feel this area should be checked into. Have or has anyone priced a set of choppers today?
1530342 tn?1405016490 You might be eligible for government subsidies to help you pay for private insurance sold in the state-based insurance marketplaces, called exchanges, slated to begin operation in 2014. Exchanges will sell insurance plans to individuals and small businesses.
Avatar n tn Awesome, thank you both very much. I've already learned to adjust and bend at the knees when I need to. And the pain seems to be slowly going away day by day. I'll be seeing my doctor next month and will let him know. Also, one thing I forgot to mention is that I do have a tooth that is basically broken in half...no dental insurance so haven't been to the dentist for it yet, wonder if that could have anything to do with it? Thanks again guys!
Avatar m tn It realistically more and more seems to be the only answer especially during this time with all the mediscare going on and the medicaid that will be cut as well for seniors in nursing homes and home health care and the like. I am a member of AARP. I do not carry my auto insurance thru them as it is higher than what I have.
Avatar n tn hi, i don't have any dental insurance so I need to pick and choose which tests and procedures at the dentist are really needed. I ask you this because I hope to find unbiased opinion. Last time I skipped the peridontal xray, but got the cavity xray and cleaning...he found 2 tiny cavities that ran me $400 out of my pocket but later a hygenist said maybe that wasn't necessary as the decay could have been reversed... So what do I "really" need..
1569985 tn?1328247482 I have had good services from Medicare over the past 9 years, but the future doesn't look good with the roll out of Obama's Affordable Health Care plan. I have seen limits but only on preventative services and test... diagnostic and treatment are different. For example I just had an echocardiogram less than one year after having my once every two years routine/preventative exam. This recent echo was diagnostic not routine.
Avatar f tn Several years ago I developed severe itching, which over a few months spread. It started on the left side below my shoulder blade (notalgia paresthetica), then my scalp, then on the edges of my face, then on my left lower back. Scratching felt good but didn't relieve the itch and irritated my skin. Topical creams didn't help. My dermatologist said my (otherwise sensitive) skin looked healthy. He prescribed gabapentin, which I had to ease into to avoid side effects.

Avatar f tn s a political mess in the dental profession and that is not helping patients like you. And for that I apologize for my profession, but as one person I do what I can, even though sometimes I'm not popular with the politically motivated dentists. It's also the reason I take the time to pass out advice--for whatever it's worth. I think most dentists are used to dealing with dental phobics as there are a lot of you.
Avatar n tn Prices range from around $340(for hospital only plan)-$1995(for a more comprehensive HMO) per month for a couple. Couple of ways you can get better rates; 1) If one of you is Sole Proprietor business owner, 2) If you apply & enroll separately. I recommend you to consult a licensed agent that represents companies like GHI or Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield. You can either find a local licensed agent or find a “licensed” online agency (like the one I work for; www.eHealthInsurance.com ).
Avatar n tn I have dental insurance but as we all know the coverage has been less and less over the past few years so I looked into dental discount programs. Did you know that some dental providers will accept both insurance and a dental discount plan togeather? It took me about 5 phone calls but I know it was worth it. On my first visit I had 3-cavitys filled. The cost after my insurance was $144. factor in the dental discount plan and my out of pocket cost was only $14!!! Check it out at http://www.
Avatar n tn I am disabled on Original Medicare, have no intent to buy private insurance... I am wondering, is it possible for an individual to get real, stand alone dental insurance? Everything I've looked at caps yearly benefits at $1,000 or so which is completely insulting considering the premiums are close to half of that. Where can you buy dental insurance that gives you "REAL" coverage?
Avatar m tn 8 Months ago diagnosed hep c cirrohosis mild stage simptoms fatigue/rash, 70 years old. Viral load 8,000,000. No money, no insurance, no probable prospects for such money or insurance. Doctor says will prescibe Harvoni if I can obtain insurance.
Avatar f tn Ok mommys that have medicaid . Will I get denied if I already have dental insurance but not health insurance?
Avatar m tn Hello, I can't remember the last time I was at the dentist but at the time the dentist said I had no cavities. Now I'm 21 and I have a cavity in on of my top molars. I don't know what to do, I don't have dental insurance and I really don't have the money to get it fixed. I don't want to wait any longer and have it get any worse but I don't have the extra arm and a leg the dentists charge.
Avatar f tn Hey Sarah I too am a college student looking for health insurance, I was curios to know what you chose and what worked for you. Also did you add dental to your health insurance, I cant find many quotes with both to know how much together they would cost.
Avatar m tn Also, I do go to a dentist (who I like) twice a year for cleanings and routine things but he is out of network with any insurance. Everyother year I might have a surface cavity to take care of or repair a filling. SO I can't decide if I should go with Aetna High deductable plan 3000 or something like a Plan 100 2500 deductable from United HealthOne as long as I can get a HSA with either.
Avatar m tn She is taking hydralazine 50mg for high BP, Sertraline 25mg for depression, Nitrofur Mac 50mg for UTI, Donepezil 10mg for memory loss, and Novolin for high blood sugar. We also have a PT that comes to her house but that is not really helping.
Avatar n tn Thanks for your reply and concern. I believe the insurance is Assurant Dental. I am self-employed and this is what the insurance agent that works for the union that I am a member of recommended. Any comments on this?
Avatar f tn Ryan has had a long-standing interest in restructuring the health insurance program for the elderly and disabled. In 2010, Republicans won a majority in the House of Representatives and chose Ryan to lead the Budget Commitee -- a platform he has used to advance ideas that have won widespread support from Republicans and equally widespread denunciations from Democrats.
Avatar f tn The health care industry is pushing for repeal of a Medicare cost-control board in the law, saying more cuts will reduce access for seniors. What will Obama do if seniors start having problems getting the care they need? A: The administration says that's unlikely to happen. Cuts are being introduced gradually, and dozens of pilot programs are testing ways to provide better care for less money. Health care costs are in a lull, buying time to make changes.
Avatar f tn Also, see if there is a birth center near you. I know our local BC has options for families with no insurance. The total out of pocket to deliver there and be seen throughout the pregnancy is about $4500 compared to 3x that amount about the hospital.
