Avatar n tn ll be able to see a mobile dental service for low-income or people without dental insurance. So, if I get accepted, I'll be able to get my teeth checked until then I'm out of luck.
Avatar m tn Also, I do go to a dentist (who I like) twice a year for cleanings and routine things but he is out of network with any insurance. Everyother year I might have a surface cavity to take care of or repair a filling. SO I can't decide if I should go with Aetna High deductable plan 3000 or something like a Plan 100 2500 deductable from United HealthOne as long as I can get a HSA with either.

After the ruling: Lots left to do on health care reform That said, there are some new taxes and fees. For example, starting in 2013, individuals with earnings above $200,000 and married couples making more than $250,000 will pay a Medicare payroll tax of 2.35 percent, up from the current 1.45 percent, on income over those thresholds.

Avatar f tn Today many dental implants are safe for use in individuals suffering from autoimmune disorders. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history.
Avatar m tn the biggest thing I see Ive wondered continuously about is when are they going to acknowledge everyone as individuals and not drug addicts. I cant understand how difficult this can be. but maybe its just me seeing this?
Avatar n tn hi, i don't have any dental insurance so I need to pick and choose which tests and procedures at the dentist are really needed. I ask you this because I hope to find unbiased opinion. Last time I skipped the peridontal xray, but got the cavity xray and cleaning...he found 2 tiny cavities that ran me $400 out of my pocket but later a hygenist said maybe that wasn't necessary as the decay could have been reversed... So what do I "really" need..
Avatar n tn I read where some individuals (patients) are eligible for write offs after a certain amount of payment to a medical provider a year even though they have insurance. Ask them for an itemized copy of a list I think is what you do for the person who does your taxes. Or have a one free consultation with an Attorney and see if you can write them a letter asking for it and CC his name under yours at the end of the letter.
Avatar f tn Beginning in October, individuals in New York City who now pay $1,000 a month or more for coverage will be able to shop for health insurance for as little as $308 monthly. With federal subsidies, the cost will be even lower. Supporters of the new health care law, the Affordable Care Act, credited the drop in rates to the online purchasing exchanges the law created, which they say are spurring competition among insurers that are anticipating an influx of new customers.
Avatar f tn s a political mess in the dental profession and that is not helping patients like you. And for that I apologize for my profession, but as one person I do what I can, even though sometimes I'm not popular with the politically motivated dentists. It's also the reason I take the time to pass out advice--for whatever it's worth. I think most dentists are used to dealing with dental phobics as there are a lot of you.
Avatar f tn s a given as we all have health insurance as per the Canada Health Act. Supplemental insurance for most prescription meds, eye care, dental care is another matter and covered by supplemental health plans. I have that too. Other interesting questions would include how much do each of us pay for premiums, how much are our co-pays. I'm curious about how much $$$ is spent in total one year on my health care including physician visits, radiology, ER visits, etc.
Avatar n tn Prices range from around $340(for hospital only plan)-$1995(for a more comprehensive HMO) per month for a couple. Couple of ways you can get better rates; 1) If one of you is Sole Proprietor business owner, 2) If you apply & enroll separately. I recommend you to consult a licensed agent that represents companies like GHI or Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield. You can either find a local licensed agent or find a “licensed” online agency (like the one I work for; www.eHealthInsurance.com ).
Avatar n tn I have dental insurance but as we all know the coverage has been less and less over the past few years so I looked into dental discount programs. Did you know that some dental providers will accept both insurance and a dental discount plan togeather? It took me about 5 phone calls but I know it was worth it. On my first visit I had 3-cavitys filled. The cost after my insurance was $144. factor in the dental discount plan and my out of pocket cost was only $14!!! Check it out at http://www.
Avatar n tn I am disabled on Original Medicare, have no intent to buy private insurance... I am wondering, is it possible for an individual to get real, stand alone dental insurance? Everything I've looked at caps yearly benefits at $1,000 or so which is completely insulting considering the premiums are close to half of that. Where can you buy dental insurance that gives you "REAL" coverage?
Avatar f tn ( i feel for you guys in the us of a. Haven't got any insurance issues here.
Avatar f tn Ok mommys that have medicaid . Will I get denied if I already have dental insurance but not health insurance?
Avatar f tn I am in texas - I looked in to Aetna, and in texas they do not have coverage. When I was working I had Blue Cross HMO and it covered the same things. Now I am no longer working and I am on my husbands insurance and it doesn't cover anything!!!
Avatar m tn Hello, I can't remember the last time I was at the dentist but at the time the dentist said I had no cavities. Now I'm 21 and I have a cavity in on of my top molars. I don't know what to do, I don't have dental insurance and I really don't have the money to get it fixed. I don't want to wait any longer and have it get any worse but I don't have the extra arm and a leg the dentists charge.
Avatar f tn Hey Sarah I too am a college student looking for health insurance, I was curios to know what you chose and what worked for you. Also did you add dental to your health insurance, I cant find many quotes with both to know how much together they would cost.
719785 tn?1232901518 Also, it could could also be abused by dependant individuals. I am on it too and it has been a life saver for my seizures. Does make you really sleepy so be careful adding other meds that cause drowsiness. Can also cause swelling in gums and hands and feet. so if that occurs, contact you doctor. I went to my dentist thinking I had a bad infection in my gum. Was put on Clindimyacin which is a very high potency drug.
Avatar n tn Thanks for your reply and concern. I believe the insurance is Assurant Dental. I am self-employed and this is what the insurance agent that works for the union that I am a member of recommended. Any comments on this?
387294 tn?1207620185 My son and daughter may be looking for health insurance after they leave college and are no longer dependents. My daughter has been diagnosed with a bicuspid aortic heart valve. She has a healthy heart and it is working well. With this impact her chances to get health insurance on her own? Will it impact our ability to continue her insurance after the cobra period is over on our insurance?
Avatar f tn Also, see if there is a birth center near you. I know our local BC has options for families with no insurance. The total out of pocket to deliver there and be seen throughout the pregnancy is about $4500 compared to 3x that amount about the hospital.
