Avatar f tn If drug treatment is covered by your health insurance- can it be denied as a "pre-existing condition" if you were getting treatment and paying out of pocket before you got the insurance??? Anybody know? Someone told my son that because of ADA it cannot be denied. Anybody know?
1365830 tn?1277997291 So my husband and I found out we were pregnant last week we weren't really stressed about finances because we have insurance but we've been finding out now basically how crappy there maturnity coverage is and now we have an ultra sound next week and more bloodwork. Are there any insurance companies that cover pre-existing conditions or some kind of program that helps with th costs? I'm getting so stressed I don't want to eat cup of noodles the rest o my pregnancy!
Avatar n tn I believe qualifying for group insurance, depeding on the company you work for, does not usually require you to have to disclose pre-existing conditions, whereas individual insurance will. I could be wrong about that. I know that when I've applied for insurance through my work, they don't ask those questions and when I was added on to my husband's plan, they never asked about pre-existing conditions. Good luck getting insurance!
Avatar f tn Hello everyone. I need some suggestion on an affordable health insurance that doesn't look at pre existing conditions. I've had svt for 20 yrs now and would like to get an ablation. Any suggestions would be very helpful. Thank u.
Avatar f tn Dear dkcrn, If you are concerned about pre-existing conditions, contact your former employer & ask them to enroll you in COBRA retroactive to 2/12, as soon as possible. Keep in mind if you do that you would have to pay for COBRA retroactive to 2/12. Your employer is responsible to inform your insurance carrier about your COBRA eligibility. Meanwhile visit www.ehealthinsurance.
152660 tn?1291755571 I have the Platinum Plan which has a $75 deductible, will not cover regular check-ups or pre-existing conditions. I have been reimbursed thousands of dollars for my kit, mostly for asthma. Look them up on-line, call them and have them send you some info. They are really great to work with and fast at reimbursement. I think I pay $400 quarterly. With reference to Skeeter's open buffet--maybe he is not getting some nutrients in his present diet. Check with your vet about your dog food .
229857 tn?1319029907 The ASPCA has pet insurance. The money generated from it goes towards caring for other animals. You could try a Google search. We have it and am glad we do. It has saved a lot of money for things we couldn't afford without it. Payments depend on the age and condition of the animal - Pet Insurance doesn't pay for pre-existing conditions. Also, there are different "packages" you can get that range from basic coverage to almost everything, including dental.
Avatar n tn Dear boater08, It is true that you have to requalify to switch back to medigap in future but the preexisting condition waiting period can only be imposed for a maximum of 6 months. So the possible risks can be something as simple of a 6 months waiting period on your pre-exisitng conditions (including your current conditions and anything that could develop between now & then), or as worst as not qualifying back for a medigap plan.
Avatar f tn You need to search for a new medical insurance that will cover pre existing conditions. Or one that just has a waiting period on pre existing conditions (typically 6-12 months). I don't know what you will do in the mean time, because they will want MRIs and CT scans in order to treat your pain. They have to make sure it's a "real" condition first. They made me do 4 Panograms, 2 MRIs, and 2 CT scans before they really believed me.
Avatar f tn This is driving me crazy and I guess worst case I can always go back to my last job so I can be covered. But its so stressful to work that much! Why are insurance companies so fishy with pre-existing conditions? I really dont understand. If two companys already denied me how am I suppose to get insurance?
Avatar m tn Dear Sir, I am a 52 yr old male from Europe(The Netherlands)and enjoy excellent Health-Care controlled by the Government and obligatory by law accesible for everybody without prior medical examination(and affordable insurance-rates).
290867 tn?1333569278 You can also purchase policies through outside insurance carriers. In Massachusetts it just went into effect that every resident HAS to have health insurance or you lose your tax exemption. Fortunately I have very good insurance at my job as does my husband but if we didn't, we would have to go the other route. I have seen some companies adverstising as little as 150 a month to get a tailor made policy to suit your needs. I would search the internet and look into it to see what you can find.
Avatar n tn There are states which require insurance companies to accept people with pre-existing conditions and do not require a waiting period. This varies by state, however.
1328367 tn?1308307743 Pre-existing Condition Any illness or health condition for which you have received medical advice or treatment during the six months prior to obtaining health insurance. Group healthcare policies cover pre-existing conditions after you have been insured for six months, and individual policies cover pre-existing conditions after you have been insured for one year. Creditable coverage must be counted towards any pre-existing condition exclusion in either an individual or group policy.
Avatar f tn But trying to get life insurance, or mortgage insurance, or travel insurance is pretty much a bust fo me. Sux!
Avatar f tn There is another thread where I answered this....see co-existing conditions thread..... We ALL need to have testing to rule all these related conditions out as they can affect us on how we feel and heal should we have surgery.
3221216 tn?1373640059 I have coverage through my state for pre-existing conditions. I pay $283.20 per month for the insurance and then they cover 80/20. The 20% I have paid so far has been pennies on the dollar. So I would check into your state and see what they offer. Believe me, this has been a life saver and bank acct saver to say the least. Have a great day!
20837174 tn?1529626282 I had 5 Coronary Arteries replaced a month ago and now my disability insurance company does not want to pay my disability benefits as they say that it was a pre existing condition that began more than a year ago and my policy has a one year waiting period for pre existing conditions. All of the research that I have done no where can I find that there is a timeline on how fast or slow it takes coronary arteries to get blocked.
1530342 tn?1405016490 lite Jerry Fielder, 64, of Universal City, Texas, is a cancer patient whose family was turned down by 16 different insurance companies because of pre-existing conditions before accessing coverage under the Affordable Care Act. Jerry Fielder and Beth Ann Levendoski breathed separate sighs of relief Thursday -- one in Texas, the other in California -- on the news that the U.S.
Avatar n tn I work as an insurance biller and we still receive denials for pre existing conditionins. They just have to offer a plan (usually more expensive) that covers pre existing, but if that's not the plan you have then it doesn't help you much.
Avatar n tn I've never heard of that but you boyfriend should call then and ask because I know done insurances can deny based on preexisting conditions. Generally though, you can get added onto a husband's insurance, as long as they allow it, some insurances through work don't, within a month of getting married.
