hey everyone I was just wondering if their are any moms from oregon on here and from what area?

My baby had the shakes yesterday. Wow! I live in Eugene Oregon. First time mother and totally want to have a natural birth . I'm 5 foot 3 inches.. scared a bit that I'll not survive.. anyone due around March 1st and afraid? Eek excited mostly because I just want to cuddle her and can't wait for my husband to hold her.

Anybody from Portland Oregon on here?! It'd be cool to meet new people from my city who are going through the same thing. I'm 18 and a soon to be single mommy!

I live in Central Oregon and need a new thyroid doctor. Any recommendations out there? I'd prefer the Bend area, but would definitely consider "the valley", especially Eugene or Portland. I have no preference as to specialty or lack thereof. However, I do want to stay in the "mainstream" for the moment - a DO or MD. Thanks.

Consider though that you will be on this type of Medical Insurance-Medicare/Medicaid. Also consider the climate, medical location, mental health services, medical options, pain management, things like this. I guess I am considering moving out of my state and I am looking to move. So with that I bring this question to the community to find out where you all live or would like to live when you have MS to deal with.

Go to your local department of human services.. They will help you figure it out and tell you what forms to fill out.. I'm fairly positive every state has some form of state funded health care, for instance I live in Oregon so we have the 'oregon health plan' being jobless and pregnant will most likely garuntee you'll be covered..

I agree with rambler. And totally understand not having insurance. I live in Oregon and since I'm pregnant I can get on the Oregon health plan but it is taking forever!!! I'm almost 10 wks and so far have not been able to get or schedule an ultrasound because its expensive and I need insurance first. If possible can u go to a free woman's health clinic? They either r free or income based....

There should be many places around Seattle; I will look several up and send you the contact information. In Canada it will be much cheaper due to socialized health care there but, you may have to wait a while in a queue. Either way, I recommend going in the morning; most people go to the clinic due to a small accident or feeling sick...x-rays and the flu etc. and it gets busier as the day goes on.

I live in Oregon and make more than that for a family of 3. I am on the Oregon health plan. I believe its mandatory since I'm pregnant. I thought there would b a prob too due to how much I make but it wasn't. It did take almost 2 months to get thru the system and actually covered tho. I hope u get some ins soon! does anyone know if DNA testing costs a lot in Oregon? Or can he go to court and have them do the tests even if it was a closed adoption if it was his kid? Like the test came back she was his.....?

If u can find a women's clinic in ur area that would b ideal. They will still take u but u will pay out of pocket. I also have no insurance and have my first apt next week at 8 wks along. I'm going to a free women's clinic.

I live in Oregon and have Providence health insurance. They pay 50% of everything except IVF. I also have Healthcomp-they dont cover infertility but they do cover ultrasounds and office visits. For sure shop around.

Can you get on the Oregon insurance plan? My heart goes out to you we just had to refinance our house and we have medical insurance because of all my medical from my cervical issues. I am in Oregon too. Makes phone calls right away there has to be some help for you.

In Oregon doctors have no problem with lying to you and saying your insurance will not pay and so I won't give you a prescription. I often wonder why no one sues. If you have enough money to sue, then more than likely you have enough to have good insurance. It's the people on Medicaid who are lied to and they can't afford to sue.

Last time I skipped the peridontal xray, but got the cavity xray and cleaning...he found 2 tiny cavities that ran me $400 out of my pocket but later a hygenist said maybe that wasn't necessary as the decay could have been reversed... yes you too can have a dental plan that most reputable dentists will not accept! i would love to go to a dental mill full of new, inexperienced dentists.

We are very short here in Oregon, on health care professionals.We have a lady now who does only hormone imbalance, ie thyroid...a friend goes to her and she uses arm and Leve. However she will not take Medicare patients..which is my other quandry...no really good ins. and don't have extra money but my S.S.My psychiatrist who comes from out of town once a week...said he believes when all the tests are in, I have the colonsocopy to go, that my health issues will all be related to my thryoid..
