Avatar f tn Elimination of source of infection is essential in order to cure dental infection. Seeing a dentist to render appropriate treatment is advised. Antibiotic therapy is only adjunct therapy.
Avatar f tn Complete elimination of infection source is the treatment of choice. Antibiotics may provide temporary relief. If augmentin doesn,t work in 72 hours, you may need to switch to another antibiotics. Seeing your dentist ASAP is advised.
Avatar f tn Throughout the time that I have had them they have been more plentiful and severe at different times within this period. I am currently suffering from debilitating migraine headaches lasting anywhere from 4-7 days at least once a month. I suspect that they may be hormone related but I cannot be sure. I also experience visual aura on a daily basis particularly if it is sunny out. I tend to be very sensitive to light.
Avatar n tn hi, i don't have any dental insurance so I need to pick and choose which tests and procedures at the dentist are really needed. I ask you this because I hope to find unbiased opinion. Last time I skipped the peridontal xray, but got the cavity xray and cleaning...he found 2 tiny cavities that ran me $400 out of my pocket but later a hygenist said maybe that wasn't necessary as the decay could have been reversed... So what do I "really" need..
1027870 tn?1252056250 yes you too can have a dental plan that most reputable dentists will not accept! i would love to go to a dental mill full of new, inexperienced dentists.
1740497 tn?1310930064 I went to the doc and they told me it was a dental issue but did a blood test just in case. They tested for inflamation and infection, both came up negative. I went to the dentist and was told I had no dental issues that would cause the pain I was experiancing. TMJ was rule out. I don't know what to do my doc doesnt seem to know what is going on and I don't want to spend a fortune on specialists playing proccess of elimination. Any one got any advice?
Avatar n tn I have dental insurance but as we all know the coverage has been less and less over the past few years so I looked into dental discount programs. Did you know that some dental providers will accept both insurance and a dental discount plan togeather? It took me about 5 phone calls but I know it was worth it. On my first visit I had 3-cavitys filled. The cost after my insurance was $144. factor in the dental discount plan and my out of pocket cost was only $14!!! Check it out at http://www.

Avatar n tn My husband (40 y/o,healthy)and I (40 y/o, healthy) are looking to get our health insurance coverage from next present. Right now we are on cobra GHI( extension from my previous work place) but they are asking me to change to EMPIRE PPO or EPO since they will not have GHI. I did not have dental and vision coverage previously but even if I want it they are saying they cannot add it. They are also asking for a one year committment.
Avatar n tn I am disabled on Original Medicare, have no intent to buy private insurance... I am wondering, is it possible for an individual to get real, stand alone dental insurance? Everything I've looked at caps yearly benefits at $1,000 or so which is completely insulting considering the premiums are close to half of that. Where can you buy dental insurance that gives you "REAL" coverage?
713012 tn?1229536099 the symptoms have been pretty consistent for the past three months and at times mean tripping to the bathroom 40 times per day but usually not for much more than the mucus, the urgency is there but not a lot of actual elimination. so without health insurance what gastro intestinal doctor will work with me? i have not the means for medical help. I just moved to Berkeley and called the free clinic but they have not the resources to test for this kind of disorder.
485259 tn?1519047026 The bad part of all of this now is While I have a treatment date for 5 hours of dental work ( getting most of it done in one session) I no longer have dental insurance and even at a Dental school/clinic the total cost is just about 15,000.00. SO I began with great fear of getting more dental work done as you were, I then had some hope the treatment could happen in a TN friendly enviorment, but now I am once again feeling hopless because of the Cost.
Avatar n tn I cannot afford to go to the dentist until my insurance kicks in about 5 mos from now. It makes the surrounding teeth very sensitive to hot or cold. Is there anything that I can do to help myself out until I can actually go see a dentist. I have been taking some anti-biotics that I had here at the house but I will run out today.
620877 tn?1282764097 I work for a small company and I do not have those benefits, medical, dental, etc. I am fortunate that my husbands medical insurance is so comprehensive. I spoke to an insurance broker about my situation: not diagnosed, but being investigated and that my neuro is highly suspicious that I have MS.
Avatar m tn Hello, I can't remember the last time I was at the dentist but at the time the dentist said I had no cavities. Now I'm 21 and I have a cavity in on of my top molars. I don't know what to do, I don't have dental insurance and I really don't have the money to get it fixed. I don't want to wait any longer and have it get any worse but I don't have the extra arm and a leg the dentists charge.
Avatar f tn If you can afford it and you have insurance you can have your doctor put you on short term disability due to "pregnancy related medical condition" I went on short term disability due to stress on 5/8 even though my maternity leave doesn't start until 5/29. I just couldn't deal with work anymor, but my doctor said he would write a note excusing me due to a "pregnancy related medical condition" your insurance can't question it.
Avatar f tn Hey Sarah I too am a college student looking for health insurance, I was curios to know what you chose and what worked for you. Also did you add dental to your health insurance, I cant find many quotes with both to know how much together they would cost.
Avatar f tn Elimination of dental infection is esssential, which can be done by re-endo, apicosurgery, or extraction, if the offending tooth is hopeless.
Avatar m tn I am so far a healthy 43 year old/m in pa. I am trying to decide which health insurance plan will be good for my situation and I am looking for some opinions here. This Month my group plan ends and I can take cobra but there is no financial benefit to taking my same PPO plan which gives me to price break for being unemployed. So I am trying to look at this at a meaningful way. Since my PPO was $475/m plue $29 dental I just cant be paying that on my own now.
Avatar f tn I think I found an answer to my question on the COBRA web site: "Pre-existing conditionsSome health insurance companies cut their costs by invoking something called a "pre-existing condition" clause. The notion of a pre-existing condition makes sense when you're talking about car insurance: your windshield was cracked before you bought your coverage, so you can't expect the insurance company to replace it once your policy is in force.
Avatar n tn I am just getting my own dental insurance next month, so I believe I would have to wait a year to see a periodontist with this particular insurance. If you have any suggestions on how to keep my gums as healthy as possible, so that I can avoid more problems, please let me know. Thanks so much.
Avatar f tn Also, see if there is a birth center near you. I know our local BC has options for families with no insurance. The total out of pocket to deliver there and be seen throughout the pregnancy is about $4500 compared to 3x that amount about the hospital.
