When I spoke to Blue Cross Blue shield I never even gave them my insurance info, just asked if they covered them and that was the info they gave me that they do.

s being treated by an opthalmologist surgeon at our HMO insurance. Come this November, we have the option of switching to Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO. My husband and I earn too much to qualify for medicaid so for Nov and Dec we are paying our prenatal visits out of pocket and have enrolled in Blue Cross Blue Shield Gold plan to go into effect Jan 1st. There is always Medicaid, but I have blue cross blue shield. I love them. They pay for almost all my stuff :) lol just have a deductible of $30 every appointment. I think you choose how you pay though.

Hi. Unfortunately most insurance companies won't cover anything related to infertility, especially IVF ;( I live in Southern CA & just did my 1st IVF. We applied to a program called The Attain Program through Integramed. You might want to check them out. They have a package deal, where you get up to 6 IVF attempts. It is expensive, but if you need more than one IVF cycle to get your BFP, it ends up being less expensive than paying through your doc's office.

I have blue cross blue shield ppo of Illinois. Our insurance pays all but 15%. So, if I have an appointment for a follicle check or IUI, I pay 15% of that total out of pocket, and they pay the rest. I believe we have a 20,000 lifetime maximum, but right now we are only on IUI. IT says up to 4 attempts so I don't know if that's with the IUI or IVF or what.... hopfully I won't have to find out as my second IUI is tomorrow!!!

Most medical plans cover all prenatal visits in full without hitting your deductible at all. You would still have to pay for the delivery at the hospital up to your out of pocket max. They consider prenatal care as wellness visits. You should ask your insurance if that is the case for you. Also, they are now mandated to pay for breast pumps too. I would ask about that coverage as well.
