In order to get off from it without a lot of side effects, I started buying a container of regular
coffee and a container of
decaf; I would then mix them together - at first more regular than
decaf. I gradually added more decaf until I got it to about 1/2 and 1/2. That was before you could buy it already "blended" in the stores. Now both Maxwell House and Folgers have "half caf" coffee. That should help ease you off at a slower pace.
