I have the smoothing recipe I've made since my kids were little but am branching out. Recipes? Thoughts? I'm going to try some new ones and I'll post them. Smoothies are a good way to get the 'good stuff' we need easily.

973741 tn?1342342773 Basically, it looks like a basic diet that everyone agrees is the best way to eat. I can see a couple of things to watch out for -- it relies a lot on dairy, and the vast majority of humans don't have the ability to digest it so that could be a problem, but you can avoid it by just avoiding most of the dairy. It also is a very low fat diet, including the "good" fats, so that could also be a problem.

Avatar f tn You eliminate carbs the first 2 weeks and after that you slowly reintroduce them. It is very much like Clean Eating and Weight Watchers core plan once you are done with the first two weeks. I am currently working phase 2 of the plan..but I know with Turkey day tomorrow I will probably switch back to phase one of the plan for the following week.

Also, avoid starchy foods like potatoes, rice, and any foods made with white flour - white bread, crackers, pasta/noodles - as these turn quickly into sugar after eating. Avatar f tn books which I stuck to rigorously for a week to kick start my palet, this got rid of all the sugar etc etc only for a week (they give a two week plan but screw that ha!) but afterwards I started making his recipes which are low bad fat, low calorie etc and taste epic! Honestly now I try and eat pizza etc and it just doesn't taste as good! I think they could help you because it focuses you to think about things differently and the food is amazing!

Avatar m tn Start of the year put about 30lbs on with comfort eating/drinking rubbish and for about 12 weeks have had pains come and go in chest aswell as recently light headeness. I Have being A&E and had ECG,Chest Xray, blood test and blood pressure which were fine other than Blood pressure was high and ever since then my blood pressure tends to stay on the high side.

There is soo many different things you can do with them., My husbands favorite is wheat wrap, then spread cream cheese on it (you can do low fat), and sprinkle some garlic powder on the cream cheese, spinach leafs, then turkey, rolled up. Sooo good, sounds a little weird but it's really good!
Avatar n tn They are an amazing group of supportive people with the same problem, and they have learned through strict diet low-carb high-fat, not only can they control her diabetes that they can really lower their numbers and get their A-1 C back where it belongs. Check them out. But be prepared for some strict, honest advice. Loads of recipes and eating guidelines.

Avatar f tn The way I won the battle was to eat in a way that does not make my blood sugar spike, and which would also keep my insulin secretion controlled as well. The eating plan us calked LCHF, which is low fat, moderate protein and high fat. And there are no gimmicks, pills, powders, bars, etc...just real food. Best part is that no calorie counting, eat until full. Also, it canceled my cravings and I no longer snack anymore.
Tbd Hi there. Sodium or salt is one of those tricky things in that there is so much in our food that we may not even know. Secret salt, I call it. A can of tomatoes or a can of soup can be very high in sodium! To answer your question, 200 mg of salt a day is not too much. Actually the guideline from the American Heart Association is up to 2300 mg of salt a day! Now, that's the upper range of being 'okay' and you should check with your doctor for where they want you to be.
Avatar n tn I then went back to my doctor stopped taking the Zanadip and I said to him I will need 3 month or so to reduce my BP naturally by DASH Plan (Dietary approach to stop hypertension) My doctor said he did not believe in any of that and tried to start me on another drug which I refused. I am 9 weeks into the DASH plan and reduced salt. My last 2 BP readings one month apart at the surgery were (1) 140/90 and (2) 130/85 I am due the next reading in 3 weeks.
