diet

973741 tn?1342342773 t rely a lot on dairy. Not sure if you are talking about the DASH diet. It does incorporate low fat dairy and non-fat dairy products. It also includes eating nuts and sees and you can obtain good fats from them. Not everyone has a problem digesting dairy. The problem with some dairy is that it is high in saturated fats and such. This diet prmotes whole foods and less animal protein and products made from an animal source.
Avatar n tn I have to start a low-iodine diet before RAI testing soon. I'm okay with most of the stuff I can and can't eat but I'm having a terrible time just thinking of not having coffee! I usually have 3-4 cups of coffee a day, always with milk (the Hispanic "cafe con leche" tradition!) I can't live without it and if I don't have my coffee I get a terrible headache. Some diets I've seen say I can have non-dairy creamers, other say to avoid that as well.
Avatar m tn That seems to make sense, but from what I’ve found on multiple Web sites, Uncle Ben’s Original Parboiled rice has a much lower Glycemic Load than brown rice (14 vs. 18). Uncle Ben’s Original Parboiled rice is White Rice. Also, from what I’ve read on multiple sites, pumpernickel bread has a lower Glycemic Load count than whole grain breads (5 vs. 9). Pumpernickel is not a “whole grain” bread.
Avatar f tn Does anyone have any advise or know of any resources or web sites that might help me with a low sodium diet plan and help me to track my sodium intake? Also does anyone know anything about the DASH diet and if this might be a good plan to follow? Thanks for everyone's help!
Avatar f tn what is a really good diet to go on and how does it work? i want to lose weight fast, i have tried a few diet pills but they make me tired do any of them work?
Avatar n tn I have diarrhea and loose motions for three weeks following, I believe, some bad chicken. My doctor has told me to eat a bland diet with no vegetables, fruit or dairy for two weeks to help the irritability. I am eating steamed chicken and rice and white bread and porridge made with water. Is there anything else I can eat, I am finding it very limiting and dry chicken and rice is really difficult to swallow. Do you think I could eat soya products and drink rice milk and almond milk.
Avatar m tn Also try the DASH diet which is helpful.
Avatar f tn About 4 months ago I had gone to them for the first time because I had a GFR of 54%. I followed the diet instructions and when I went today I had a GFR of 68%!!! So following the kidney diet makes a big difference.
526889 tn?1212540641 For your age you need 1500 calories daily to safely lose weight. I would recommend a Heart Healthy diet which is a moderate fat diet. Moderate fat diet means = use polyunsaturated (omega 3, corn oil, nuts, etc) fats and monounsaturated (olive oil, canola oil, peanut oil, etc) fats, no saturated fats (high fat snack foods, butter, fat spreads) and no trans fats.
Avatar n tn Even if it is brown rice, I would vary this more. Also include a small handful of nuts in your diet every day - excellent source of fiber, minerals, and healthy fats. Hope this helps!
Avatar f tn Everything that I eat gives me indigestion, and I'm hungry all the time and don't know what to buy because I've never been a good diet person besides Diet Coke and I gave that up. I've tried looking on YouTube for good meals to cook but with school and work I dont have much time for cooking gourmet. If anyone has any good ideas for fast "cheaper" meals I would greatly appreciate it!

140029 tn?1393298142 ve found a few cereals like puffed rice that seem to work but now taking rice milk/milk totally out of my diet for 3+weeks yeah it's gonna be hard. Plus I have been looking for a fiber supplement since i'm so IBS-C screwed up..so flaxseed is a great idea. I was doing eggs for breakfast but I'll avoid all possible food groups, maybe it's eggs *shrugs* but I missed something..hopefully i'll figure it out. Anyway thank you for that response!

Avatar f tn If you want to make him healthier, you should prepare foods that are according to the DASH diet (diet against hypertension). Give him lots of vegetables and fruits(2-4 kinds of fruits a day) and avoid fatty foods, processed foods, fast foods. A home cooked meal is always the best. He must at least eat 2 fatty fish in a week. He must do walking exercises 30 minutes everyday. If he really wanted to be strong, healthy and can live longer he must work his way to change his lifestyle.
Avatar m tn ve been on and off statins (one of the active ingrediets in RYR) for a couple of years. Currently, I am on a diet/lifestyle only approach (no statins or RYR) with excellent results (Total Cholesterol 150 from 200 and LDL around 80 from 140). That said, the new RYR/Lifestyle/Supplement/ study peaks my interest as a viable option for the future.

Avatar f tn For a year or so i have had a terrible diet of mostly junk food and a relatively sedentary lifestyle. As a result of this i am now 4 stone overweight and always feeling tired and sluggish. Since last week i have joined my local gym and cut out junk food and sugar as much as i possibly can. I have reduced my calorie intake to about 1300 a day but i am feeling very ill and weak. What is the reason for this?
