Im a 17 year old asian male with dark lips. I was born with lighter lips but i have neglected them when i was younger. I have always peeled and ate the skin of my lips (I know disgusting lol) when i was younger and they were chapped. Everytime i went to the dentists, when i'd have my teeth pulled and they used anesthesia i'd take very hot water and test on my lips to see how i can not feel the pain. I never really cared about my lips from about 5 years old to 13.
I am a 22 year old female who for the last couple of years have suffered with darkening of lips. I suffer from eczema so i dont know if this is a contributory factor but i have periods where my lip darkens and but then goes away, only this time the lips is getting more pigmented and shows no signs of getting better. Please Please help me ive cried over this so many times because no seems to have an answer for it and its really starting to affect my confidence. Thank you so much for your time.
can you tell me if the vitamin E cream has helped you in the long run and if the dark skin in and around the corner of the lips has disappeared ? My son last July got thèse cold sores for the first time on his lips right after a conjunctivitis and healed from it but just few weeks later we had to travel to India and it turned more darker and visible...as if He was having a moustache ...guess that list the hot weather that have accelerated the darkness...
I waxed my upper lip in July and it has left me with a dark skin mustache! I try to cover it up with make-up but it really doesn't do the trick. Is there anything that will help my skin back to its original colour? Also I'm now stuck with hair that I bleach which just looks hideous.

I USED NEUTROGENA CREAM..U KNOW DA ONE THAT'S IN DA TAN TUBE WITH GOLD OR BRONZE CAP..ITS A SKIN TONER..I FORGOT ACTUAL NAME B/C I DON'T USE ANYMORE. NOW ITS SO UNNOTICEABLE THAT MY MAKE UP COVERS IT UP AND I KNOW IF I HAD CONTINUED TO USE IT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN COMPLETELY GONE...I CAN STILL SEE A TRACE B/C I KNEW WHAT WAS ONCE THERE BUT NO ONE ELSE CAN TELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i have this wedding to go this month and i have two dark scars right up my lips which shows up (also with make-up on) not that its too dark but once i go out in light , i can see them so ofcourse its really visible. i got them by using the hair removal cream "nair". though it was my fault of using nair right after waxing my upper lips. i have tried bio-oil and ambi ... but didnt really showed me expected results... any help would be appriciated . thank you .
At that time, I was going out and used qtip (cotton swab) to apply some compact cream make up to cover it. I can not remember if I used the same qtip to get more concealer after using it on the cold sore, but worst case I did.
Today in a rush I grabbed the same make up container (which I haven't used since, I meant to throw it away) and used my finger to apply it to the dark circles under my eyes. Am I at any risk for spreading herpes to my under eye area?

Next week while eating something spicy her lips flared up and again she suffred from dry chapped lips.she started licking her lips but may be 10 times a day..so we applied butter on her lips ..which was salted.
now her dry lips have been cured with no dryness or discomfort but she has devleoped perioral pigmentation ..which is dark circle around her lips..look like moustache
Gp has prescribed 1% hydrocortisone..but pigmentation is still very apparent and very dark.
t keep using chap stick. Late November a dark spot cropped up underneath of the skin on my lower lip. I don't know where it came from ... it just formed one night. My boyfriend pointed it out to me. It was small at first & the skin was still smooth. Over the next few days the skin there became really dry and the spot grew bigger & darker. It was flaky, so I'd peel the skin but it lasted for about 2 to 3 weeks. I'm worried it might be herpes.
For a few years My lips have been dark around the edges and now it's really starting to make me self-conscious. As of now they're really brown on the edges and pinker towards the middle. If there is a way, how can I restore my lips to their natural color?
So I had this conditions for years now, in the beginning was my both lips, every morning I would wake up with this tiny dark spots on my lips, when I press them, saliva comes out and makes the shape of small bubbles which leaves my lips super dry.
I tried few ways to moisture them but they kept dry.

Rare but serious causes of dark spots on lips are oral melnaotic macules and Peutz Jegher ‘s syndrome .Keep your lips well hydrated. Apply lemon juice mixed with glycerine.Cutting down on tea, coffee and quitting smoking may help. If it persists consult a dermatologist. He may suggest appropriate treatment. I hope it helps.

Over the summer I noticed that about 1/4 inch of the lips where it meets the lower lips turned to just brown from dark brown. Not sure if i caught it while shaving or what. I did go to the beach and not sure if that caused it either. Anyways, whenever my mouth is closed you can't notice it. When I open up my mouth though to talk, there is 1/4 inch where its just brown and then the dark coloration of my lips starts. Curious if there is any remedy to have that color come back or what?
when i asked my dematologist for the blood check up so i can know whether it is some other reason or not she refused for that. please help me what to do and what could be the reason for the lips getting pink and rest part dark brown.and yes the difference of the colour looks more in dark room and less in light. please help!!!
