Avatar f tn My lips have been dry & chapped all winter, sometimes they'll get a sore too if I don't keep using chap stick. Late November a dark spot cropped up underneath of the skin on my lower lip. I don't know where it came from ... it just formed one night. My boyfriend pointed it out to me. It was small at first & the skin was still smooth. Over the next few days the skin there became really dry and the spot grew bigger & darker.
Avatar n tn can you tell me if the vitamin E cream has helped you in the long run and if the dark skin in and around the corner of the lips has disappeared ? My son last July got thèse cold sores for the first time on his lips right after a conjunctivitis and healed from it but just few weeks later we had to travel to India and it turned more darker and visible...as if He was having a moustache ...guess that list the hot weather that have accelerated the darkness...
Avatar f tn In addition to all this, my upper lip has spots on it, and I have a dark ring around my mouth. I think the spots are from sun damage, as my lips were a very light pink when I was younger. The dark ring around my mouth goes away depending on what I eat. Its very irritating to be itchy and dry all the time, and I need a change. What recommendations do you have for very dry skin and sun damaged lips?
Avatar f tn e the inside onw is pink and the outside one is really dark. someone suggested me to apply Kojivit plus in lips. Please advice if it will help or should I try something else.
Avatar m tn Im a 17 year old asian male with dark lips. I was born with lighter lips but i have neglected them when i was younger. I have always peeled and ate the skin of my lips (I know disgusting lol) when i was younger and they were chapped. Everytime i went to the dentists, when i'd have my teeth pulled and they used anesthesia i'd take very hot water and test on my lips to see how i can not feel the pain. I never really cared about my lips from about 5 years old to 13.

4522800 tn?1470325834 Does anybody get the chance to see the moose in there yard in the winter? I just had 4 differnt ones at different time yeasterday. Today while I was posting the old big male moose came back. I gave him some slice apples and he came up to my back steps. I got 3-4 feet from him. He seem to not be afraid of people. He just stood there waiting for more apples. I got some real close pictures and my hub says to send them into our daily paper.

Avatar n tn So I had this conditions for years now, in the beginning was my both lips, every morning I would wake up with this tiny dark spots on my lips, when I press them, saliva comes out and makes the shape of small bubbles which leaves my lips super dry. I tried few ways to moisture them but they kept dry.
Avatar f tn For several years now I have been treating myself to flowers a couple of times a month during the dark winter days. Not Valentines fancy stuff, just from my (very good) supermarket. It's amazing how cheery this can be. Daffodils are my ultimate fave, but I just love the blue-purple irises as well, plus a bunch of others, including lilies. z These average out to a few dollars a week, which fortunately for me I can afford.
Avatar f tn Not all migraines result in a headache. This could be as far as it goes, numbness in your lips and hands. Some people experience visual problems, zig zag vision or flashes. I doubt that being exposed to the sun has anything to do with it. You would have developed a headache or a low grade fever by now if you had heat stroke. Have you checked with your dr yet? Cath278.
Avatar f tn My lips have always been dry, especially in the winter, but after using chap stick and not licking them when they become aggravating, it gets better. This winter the same thing happened, my lips began to get very dry so as usual I began to apply different chapsticks. I saw the condition start to get better but when I went to sleep last night I applied Chapstick so it would last me through the night.
Avatar f tn “Because your lips don’t have much melanin, they’re extremely susceptible to sun damage, even in winter,” stresses Dr. Bank. Pop the balm in your bag so you won’t lick your lips to moisten them later. “Saliva contains enzymes that break down your skin and create cracks,” says Dr. Bank. But slick on just a thin coating. Otherwise, your instinct might be to lick away the excess.
Avatar m tn This winter I got chapped lips and started using Burts Beeswax daily. Went well all winter then last week I woke up and my lips we're so chapped, I yawned and the corners of my mouth cracked. 3 cuts on both sides for a total of 6 cracks.. ouch! Also the areas around the corner are numb. There is a burning pain all day and the edges of my mouth are itchy. This has been going for 4 days now. I've used vaseline and changed to medicated blistex but no relief. Any help would be great.

Avatar n tn I have the same problem. I think a lot of it has to do with being pregnant in the winter. This is my second time being pregnant during winter and both times my lips dry up so bad but as soon as the cold weather goes away so does the chapped lipes. Try using Carmax. It helps the best.
Avatar f tn I tan very easy, and i am have dark features and have freckles on face. About a month ago i noticed a small dark freckle in the inside of my nose towards right inside of it. I can see it in a mirror. I am getting concerned and wondering if i should be calling my doctor about skin cancer. If anyone could give any feedback that would be wonderful! Thank you. I have had moles removed and skin tags in the past, amd they have all been tested with negative results.
Avatar n tn We have seen an allergist and no allergens have been found to be positive. His asthma seems to flair up in the winter. He also gets extreme chapped lips and I am wondering if the three coincide? When he takes singulair and his asthma is well-controlled it seems like his lips get better. We have also noticed that whenever he goes to school his lips look terrible when he comes home. Could he be allergic to something at school? Thank you.
Avatar m tn To prevent blackness of the lips, smoking and chewing, biting or pricking the skin of the lips should be avoided. The most effective solution for treating dark lips is alexandrite and ND-Yag Q-Switched laser treatment. Please discuss these options with your dermatologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.
Avatar n tn Rare but serious causes of dark spots on lips are oral melnaotic macules and Peutz Jegher ‘s syndrome .Keep your lips well hydrated. Apply lemon juice mixed with glycerine.Cutting down on tea, coffee and quitting smoking may help. If it persists consult a dermatologist. He may suggest appropriate treatment. I hope it helps. Take care and regards!
Avatar m tn Keep weather in mind. In the summer, you would only need a light sheet or blanket, in the winter, heavier blankets are necessary to keep you comfy. Again, back to the senses...if you create a bed that keeps you too hot or too cold, that will interfere with your sleep. Keep a glass or bottle of water at your bedside, in case you awaken with that dry mouth and need for a drink. This way you don't have to get out of bed to get something to drink.
Avatar n tn I have itchy dry skin in the fall and winter with associated rash and abbrasions caused by scratching. What could be causing this.
