I think its both positive and negative. It teaches the kids the dangers of smoking/second hand smoke and the problems it can cause as well as the result od death. As for the negative, the kids with the smoking patents are now worrying about losing their parent(s) due to the day care. Im an ex smoker myself.

Hi. I'm just curious in people's opinions of something. I am an ex smoker. No longer have the habit. My child's daycare have been taught that smoking kills people etc.. so move away from people if they're smoking. A lot of parents from the daycare have come in abusing the child care Centre as they're smokers and there young children keep telling them they're going to die.

I should have simply stated WHAT it was, not pontificated about the legality of it. It was almost like I was regressing to my own smoking of it and the BS I told my mom. This may be a good opportunity to start educating your 2 year old on the dangers of cigarette smoking. Teach him not to ever pick them up, especially when he’s older and others around him may be smoking.

I disagree with the comment that we should accept it and not try to educate people about the dangers of smoking while pregnant. There are a lot of really young moms on here and notall do know all the risks with smoking.

I have a pacemaker and it is keeping me alive. I am paced at 100% which means if I did not have this device, I would not be here. A "danger", if any, might be the fact that you need to have the devise interrogated every 6 mo. There is a battery life and when it runs down, the device is replaced. I still have 3 yrs on my battery and have not experienced the battery change. I rank this invention right up there with antibiotics.

I was alergic to the medication used to reverse the effects of the overdose and had to go through withdrawl in the hospital on my own with no meds. It was rough and I never again want to relive it. I am very lucky to be alive. I will never again touch vicodins as long as I live.

I was told by my doctor not to quit smoking cold turkey because the stress you will endure from that is more likely to harm the baby then the smoking itself. The baby does not get the most harmful part which is the crap you are inhaling into your lungs; just the nicotine, or in this case HTC. I am not telling you to light up a blunt everyday but a happy you makes a happy baby.

but not deadly. the DANGERS of w/d from cold turkey are no greater than taper. the difference is in the severity of the symptoms. if you google withdrawals from opiates, you will see it says there is no danger to w/ds. the symptoms may make you want to die...but it dont happen. thats being said, it is always good to see your dr, if you have that option. they can prescribe certain meds that make the symptoms more bearable. good luck.

Hi and welcome to the forum! I'm sorry you had such terrible injuries. Sounds like you might be lucky to be alive. Why not celebrate your life by giving up those smokes completely. Smoking one or two cigs a day will just prolong your cravings forever and ever and soon you will be smoking full time again. If your intent is to quit, why not start using one of the smoking aids offered today if you feel you can't get through the cravings.

my best friends has been smoking since she was 13 now she smokes 2 packs a day when she was pregnant with her soon her doctor told her not to quit cold turkey cause your body is so used to the cigarets that you could send your baby into shock.
