My child's daycare have been taught that smoking kills people etc.. so move away from people if they're smoking. SIDS as well as second hand smoke dangers to you and you baby are important considerations in maintaining health for both of you. There are good prescription options for quitting smoking if your husband is willing to discuss them with his doctor. Chantix has had great success and well as Wellbutrin and quitting will keep him healthier for his baby too.

Alright ladies, I need some advice. My brother is law's 21st birthday is next weekend, and he wants to go to a casino for dinner and gambling. I can't decide if I should go or not. There are non smoking rooms for gambling and the restaurants are all non smoking. I just don't know if I'm over thinking this whole thing, and if I should just go for a few hours and stay in the non smoking areas. What do you think?

After recovery, you go back to your room and start the recovery process. Was it the easiest surgery? probably not, but certainly a surgery that saved my life at 42 - due to a dangerous heart rhythm.

I have had a very strange allergic reaction for the past year and it seems to be getting progressively worse. Almost every time I eat in a restaurant or the kitchen of some people, my nose itches like crazy and gets very stuffy. Sometimes, but not always, my eyes get watery as well. It never happens in my kitchen, and I noticed when I was in San Fransisco a few months ago it didn't seem to happen in restaurants there, or at least wasn't as intense.

re most likely laid up, I would like to suggest a website called whyquit.com. While your recovering, you can educate yourself on the dangers of smoking. You are very young and quitting now will be a lot easier than 10 or 20 years from now.
To answer your question simply though; YES, one or two cigs a day will hurt you!

Although I hesitate to answer, as you got so worked up at others replies. Most of us posting here are just regular folks trying to help give you some ideas.
That would be one of the deciding factors as to how I view this one. Here in Fl, no smoking in any public building. But I do know that in Ohio, they have smoking sections still in alot of the restaurants.
Other than that! There is surely enuff rudeness to go around with this one. I am amazed how adults act so classless these days.

I am wondering...is this anything like quitting smoking? I smoked for 23 years, and could not imagine life without my "best friends", my cigarettes. I mean...what would I do when the phone rang, when I got in the car, after I was done eating, when I went out, sat next to the pool, etc etc. I remember thinking how will I EVER ENJOY life again without my cigarettes.
Re-reading what I wrote and feel a bit daft! I do agree with everyone else here! I was ignorant myself of the dangers of it, so am more educated now thanks to the good people here. I feel stupid for stating that it's legal.
Alcohol is legal. It almost killed me and TG I haven't had a drink for several years. I wish I could take my post down. I agree that it is something to be more concerned with, and feel like my post was way too blase.

My daughter and her BF had a roomate that smoked that stuff. It's not good. Apparently it is herbs with something that they call synthetic THC. A bunch of chemicals. Here in Utah they are making it illegal because it's considered hazerdous. Google "smoking spice dangers" and there is alot of stuff on it. I think it is telling that there is a push in some states to legalize pot, and yet they are banning that stuff right and left.
Why risk something that has been scientifically proven to affect an unborn fetus? Science was a whole lot different for our parent's generation, scientist know so much more about the dangers of smoking than before. I just couldn't see myself taking chances like that knowing as many negative stories about it.

meggster, firstly understand that you should quit for your own health reasons, and not because somebody wants you to!!! I think now you are old enough to understand and take seriously that cigarette smoke can cost you your life in the course of time. 'am sure you must be aware of all the ill-effects of smoking?
Smoking, which starts as a teenage fad, for impressing others. ..blah...blah. ..etc..often becomes a dirty and dangerous life-time habit!
On ur quest to quit smoking. Tea tree oil chewing sticks and black licorice root (which can be purchased at a health store) help greatly to calm the urges to smoke. It can take 8 min for the strongest urge to subside. Chew on a black licorice root, don't hang out with ppl who smoke for awhile. Find out what ur triggers are and replace them with new, healthier habbits. And most of all, don't feel guilty if u relapse, u can always try again. Dev new coping methods.
