Avatar m tn One year ago I had good volume of hair but currently I had lost more hair reason because of dandruff. I feel very embarrassed. I was using coconut oil for my hair from my childhood and was still using it. But from one week I stopped using oil because when I use it now my hair look less and to hide it I don't use it. When I don't use oil my hair looks more. I am also using shampoo for my hair. I wash my hair daily from my childhood till now.
Avatar f tn I've had the same problem all throughout my pregnancy. I'm 25 weeks right now. I use coconut oil... and also loreals total repair shampoo seems to be the only shampoo that doesn't make it worse. Hope this helps!
Avatar m tn ve just found this forum and I'm delighted! I have to wash my hair EVERY day and by lunchtime it smells bad, more so on my scalp but my hair too! I've tried T-Gel, Nizorel, Vosene, Sulphur shampoo, anti dandruff stuff prescribed by the doctor (who actually didn't believe me, she clearly didn't get close enough!) and I'm starting to get paranoid, not to mention worried about the condition of my hair due to constant washing, drying straightening.
Avatar f tn At home to help moisturise the scalp you can rub some baby oil or coconut oil. Coconut oil has antibacterial, antifungal and anti viral properties. Best to get the virgin coconut oil. If you try treating your scalp with the oils, leave it on for as long as possible, or overnight and then wash your hair as normal. The family shampoo that you are using may not be suitable for your scalp. It may bee too harsh.
Avatar f tn Advice i have received for that is to crush up a prenatal vitamin and add it to your conditioner when you shower. The vitamins a healthy for your hair and scalp. Its a home remedy even when not pregnant.
Avatar n tn t wash your hair more than needed, over washing can dry out your scalp. Try a coconut oil mask and concentrate it at your scalp/ roots then leave it in for 30 minutes or overnight. You can also buy masks from beauty stores as well.
Avatar n tn It is not dangerous in itself though. You can add crushed garlic and peppercorn to coconut oil and heat it. Apply it twice in a week at night and keep overnight. There are many anti dandruff shampoos in the market which you can use. Comb your hair well and massage your scalp well. If dandruff persists consult a skin specialist. Once this resolves the lymph nodes will disappear on their own. Hope this helps. Do let me know if there is any thing else and keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar n tn Use special shampoo such as head and shoulders. And maybe use a coconut oil hair mask once or twice a week.
Avatar f tn Ok thanks.
Avatar m tn I did have a slight problem with dandruff. Some nights I would massage coconut oil into my scalp then wash it out the next day. This worked very well as the dandruff was far less noticeable the day after the oil application. Still, I couldn't do anything about fixing my hair texture. I read that the sudden change could be related to a hormonal imbalance or be the result of a serious illness.
Avatar f tn People who take coconut oil also tend to have improvements in how they handle blood sugar since coconut can help improve insulin use within the body. Coconut oil can boost thyroid function helping to increase metabolism, energy and endurance. It increases digestion and helps to absorb fat-soluble vitamins." = Dr Oz - The Surprising Health Benefits of Coconut Oil.
Avatar n tn Also, add a good Omega 3 supplement to his meals.......I prefer organic coconut oil, but most use a fish based oil......Do not purchase one at a grocery store or discount center...Find one at a health food store or small town pharmacy......you will want to use 1/4 of the human dose...You will ***** the capsule & squirt it on his food twice a day......Dog supply stores sell it, also...Grizzly Salmon Oil is probably the most popular.....Can also be ordered online.....

Avatar m tn In all probability you have a patch of dry scalp due to dandruff. Apply coconut oil twice a week and wash hair with anti-dandruff shampoo. For the last rinse, squeeze a lemon in a mug of water and rinse hair with that. If symptoms persist, consult a skin specialist. Hope this helps. Take care! Avatar n tn Hi, The best way to treat dandruff is to use a dandruff shampoo. Look for shampoos with ingredients such as zinc pyrithone, salicyclic acid, coal tar, selenium silfide, or ketoconazole. All of these ingredients have been shown to work on dandruff; to use the shampoo, apply it to your scalp and hair, rub vigorously, and allow it to sit for five minutes so that the ingredients can work before rinsing it out.
Avatar m tn I am having burning sensation in eye (one eye only) for the past 5 months & it worsens when watching computer/TV particularly in high temperature rooms (due to hot climate) & went to several ophthalmologist for a cure, some told me its due to over secretion of meibomian oil, probably due to dandruff & as a treatment gave topical antibiotic+corticosteroids to apply it on lid margins for 10 days.but the problem is not clearing up.
Avatar f tn As soon as i found out i was pregnant i made a mixture of coconut oil, shea butter, almond oil, and vitamin E and i massage it on my tummy and thighs everyday. I'm now almost 32 weeks and NO stretch in sight.
Avatar n tn Once a week use about 1/4 of any oil (coconut, argan, olive, avocado, etc) and massage it into your scalp. Leave overnight then shampoo and condition as normal. To exfoliate your scalp, once a week add some sugar into your shampoo and massage your scalp with it. Be sure to rinse it all out! Also, most people think that just the ends need to be conditioned and that the scalp will get too oily if you condition it.
Avatar m tn he told me when the hair is dry the scalp over produces sebum, so i tried to moisturize my scalp using a coconut oil leave it for overnight, after washing my hair smells like coconut but after awhile it started to smell bad. 1654177 tn?1319838494 Some people have had good results with using fine olive or coconut oil. Put a little on your palms, rub your hands together and rub onto your scalp after you shampoo/ I've never used Noxin though I do use a mild shampoo and rinse. I've lost some hair but started out with such a thick mane that people roll their eyes at me if I complain.
Avatar f tn Always follow the instructions on your particular bottle before applying topically onto the skin, since highly concentrated oils may first need to be mixed with Olive Oil or Coconut Oil before application (usually one teaspoon of Olive Oil or Coconut Oil per one drop of Oil of Oregano). http://www.homeremediesweb.com/oil_of_oregano_health_benefits.
Avatar n tn With regards to your dandruff, daily washing with an antidandruff shampoo may help decrease oil and cell buildup. There are plenty of dandruff shampoo available in the market today. Not all dandruff shampoos are alike, so you may need to experiment with them to find the one that works best for you. When shampooing, it is important to rinse well.
