I think this resulted in me developing serious dandruff. its been a problem for a while now. I think there is some hairloss and scalp is very dry and itchy. Everytime I run my fingers through my hand i can see flakes falling down. I plan on shaving my head and start applying some cream. Can you recommend any medicine or any remedies. I would really appreciate some help.

I have been suffering from dandruff for more than 10 years. I have tried Nizoral, coal tar, head and shoulder, selsum blue etc but nothing seems to help.
Especially in 3 area in my head near the centre, I big circle of dandruff forming. They can be almost the size of dime. Its thicken , raised flaky transparent skin layer with dots. I have been noticing this for atleast 4 years now. I scratch and take it out but it rebuilds in just couple of day in the excact location.
what can i do about oily dandruff? all the things available in the market seem to be for dry dandruff. what products should i be using? any changes in my diet or lifestyle u could recommend?
t seem to have made much of a dent in the dandruff. Like I said, the dandruff is minimal on some days and heavier on other days with seemingly no rhyme or reason.
I've tried adding some olive oil to his food, and even rubbing some on him because I read it might help, but really when I massaged some olive oil into his skin it almost seemed to make the dandruff worse.
What do you all think? I have read they sell dog balm and dog moisturizers, which I'd never even heard of before.
-Dandruff occurs about 12 hours after washing my hair. (When I go sleep, I have none, when I wake up, its horrible :S)
-My scalp itches LOADs when I even become a bit hot/sweaty (this started about my 3rd year of dandruff, wasnt there in the 1st 2 years). I.e when I take a walk/go to the gym. I have recently gone to the gym, and it is all fine walking into the gym. But then when my body temp begins to warm up, not even started sweating, my scalp would itch like crazy.

From the symptoms this problem of dry itchy scalp can be due to dandruff or seborrheic dermatitis. You can treat flaking and dryness with over-the-counter dandruff or medicated shampoos. Shampoo the hair vigorously and frequently (preferably daily). Active ingredients in these shampoos include salicylic acid, coal tar, zinc, resorcin, ketoconazole, or selenium. But if your hair is colored, don't use products with selenium sulfide or sulfur.
I had the same problem for years,until i was able to afford insurance.i was told by my doctor i had "dermatitis".there's differant kinds so you might want to look on line and see what symptoms best fits your problem.dermatitis causes severe itch,dandruff,and under the dandruff there's a rash.I'm no doctor but i think this info well help.i found it helpful to use shampoos that treat dermatitis.sence there's no cures.hope this info helps.
Recently, i have got some hard dandruff patches on my scalp. I experience a lot of itching in them. I oil my scalp regularly and use an anti dandruff shampoo but so far no improvement. I have 4-5 such patches on my scalp and every time i brush my hair, a lot of dandruff comes out. Someone please advise!
It does indeed sound like you've got Sebhorreic Dermatitis. It's caused by the same yeast as dandruff, just with more intense symptoms, including crusty build up wherever you've itched too hard.. NIICE. There is a product called Psoriasin for scalp available from shopinprivate.com. It is a coal tar product which can be left to work on the scalp without making your hair greasy. It is not a cure, but it definitely removes ALL my symptoms if I use it regularly.
i have great dandruff problems on my scalp. i try lots of shampoo but no improve. for this reason i lose my hair and on my scalp there r also itching problems. and also i have alargic problems on my skin like itching. so what i do now??? to save my hair...please inform me.. bye...

It can be due to dandruff, eczema or fungal infection. Dandruff can cause either an overly dry scalp with itchy white flakes that may be waxy or greasy, or it can manifest as an oily scalp with scales.
Eat a healthy diet. You can also take vit B6 and vit A and E which are good for hair and skin. Try medicated shampoos for dandruff. There are a number of over-the-counter shampoos available that can help.

Your partner was not a high risk partner and you only had a single exposure. As for your symptoms, "dandruff" is sometimes caused by a common condition called seborrheic dermatitis which can be problematic for persons with advanced HIV.

I also have some redness/flaking skin occurring around my nose, eyebrows and forehead. I have done some research and the symptoms of my scalp and face seem to be consistent with seborrhiec dermatitis. Any help with treatment possibilities would be appreciated.
