dandruff shampoo while pregnant

Has anyone else had super horrible dandruff while pregnant. I've never had dandruff so bad, ever!

Its anyone else having dandruff now that you're pregnant? It is so annoying....if you do or did what are you doing for it?

I'm having some very bad dandruff since i got pregnant. nothing helps. I've tried t-gel and head and shoulders. Any other suggestions?

Nizeral, polytar and t gell shampoo are all great for dandruff. You could try nioxin shampoo. You get a 3 part system. Nioxin cleanser , scalp revitaliser ( conditioner) and scalp treatment. It is designed for thinning hair but would help your dandruff aswell. It will unblock blocked follicles to aid hair growth and also make the hair you have look thicker and stronger.

You can tell its dandruff or dry scalp by the colour and if there is a smell present or not. Dandruff is yellowish and gives off an odour.

Hi I've just found this forum and I'm delighted! I have to wash my hair EVERY day and by lunchtime it smells bad, more so on my scalp but my hair too! I've tried T-Gel, Nizorel, Vosene, Sulphur shampoo, anti dandruff stuff prescribed by the doctor (who actually didn't believe me, she clearly didn't get close enough!) and I'm starting to get paranoid, not to mention worried about the condition of my hair due to constant washing, drying straightening.

Did a doctor recommend it? A dermatologist is good to talk to about issues related to one's scalp and direction on how to treat it. You may be allergic to ketocanazole shampoo as severe itching is a sign of that.

You can treat flaking and dryness with over-the-counter dandruff or medicated shampoos. Shampoo the hair vigorously and frequently (preferably daily). Active ingredients in these shampoos include salicylic acid, coal tar, zinc, resorcin, ketoconazole, or selenium. after using any anti dandruff shampoo like clinic plus, head & shoulder my head ache starts. why? i use other shampoo also but only anti dandruff starts my head ache. i want to know which chemical affecting me?

My hairdresser told me that dandruff shampoo was making my flakes much worse. I switched to Neutrogena moisturizing shampoo and conditioner and my scalp has been salvaged as well as my hair. I still occasionally have flakes but they are few an far between.

Not all dandruff shampoos are alike, so you may need to experiment with them to find the one that works best for you. When shampooing, it is important to rinse well. It started out of the blue, my scalp became very itchy and I could not help scratching it, when I scratched it, what appeared to be white flakes of skin came off. I thought this was just normal dandruff so bought Anti-dandruff shampoo (over the years I have tried every Anti-dandruff shampoo you can think of, even stuff from my GP).

I agree with jemma116 about going back to the doctor. Did you see a dermatologist or your primary care physician? If you didn't see a dermatologist, I would suggest seeing one for this type of issue. It could be that the shampoo is drying your scalp out and exacerbating the dandruff and irritating the sores, preventing healing. I've personally found Head & Shoulders, Nizoral, Selsun Blue, and all those anti-dandruff shampoos to make my scalp worse.

So I know pregnancy causes dry skin. Today I just noticed I have dandruff :( and my lips are chapped and they never are :( did y'all experience this?
