Avatar f tn Have you tried switching your shampoo? Do you use any anti-dandruff shampoo? Are you seeing any rash accompany the itching?
Avatar m tn After beginning to use dandruff shampoo to wash it daily, trying to keep the foreskin retracted daily and using a combination of Lotrimin AF and coconut oil it seems to be going away quite well. The dandruff shampoo was something I read about on another website and it seemed to make the biggest difference.
9562964 tn?1416928231 Nizeral, polytar and t gell shampoo are all great for dandruff. You could try nioxin shampoo. You get a 3 part system. Nioxin cleanser , scalp revitaliser ( conditioner) and scalp treatment. It is designed for thinning hair but would help your dandruff aswell. It will unblock blocked follicles to aid hair growth and also make the hair you have look thicker and stronger.

Avatar n tn Hi, The best way to treat dandruff is to use a dandruff shampoo. Look for shampoos with ingredients such as zinc pyrithone, salicyclic acid, coal tar, selenium silfide, or ketoconazole. All of these ingredients have been shown to work on dandruff; to use the shampoo, apply it to your scalp and hair, rub vigorously, and allow it to sit for five minutes so that the ingredients can work before rinsing it out.
Avatar n tn Hello Dr. About a month ago i developed scabs/rash on the back of my scalp/neck. I thought that it was just dandruff so I bought some shampoo. The shampoo didn't help and the scabs started hurting and my scalp became raw with me scratching it. It itches really bad. I have tried every shampoo on the market. Everything causes burning except for Aveeno which I am now using. I went to the Dr. and he said that it was like dandruff and that I would have it the rest of my life.
Avatar m tn I would check K, D ,Calcium, and Magnesium levels or get a Dr to do it. Also, with scalp dermatitis it can be caused by dandruff Dandruff is caused by 3 types of fungus, so if you only use one type of shampoo it will never go away. I think using Cesium Blue, Head and shoulder and another... check the active ingredients on the back. Usually the two are because you are having a reaction to the cold. So, use the shampoo, conditioner, and lotion on your skin.
Avatar f tn You can treat flaking and dryness with over-the-counter dandruff or medicated shampoos. Shampoo the hair vigorously and frequently (preferably daily). Active ingredients in these shampoos include salicylic acid, coal tar, zinc, resorcin, ketoconazole, or selenium. If the symptoms persist, then it would be best to get it confirmed from a dermatologist Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.

Avatar n tn With regards to your dandruff, daily washing with an antidandruff shampoo may help decrease oil and cell buildup. There are plenty of dandruff shampoo available in the market today. Not all dandruff shampoos are alike, so you may need to experiment with them to find the one that works best for you. When shampooing, it is important to rinse well. If it still persists, stronger prescription shampoos may be indicated. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I consulted a doctor but she says everything is fine, may be it coukd be the pad rash and gave me some cream and shampoo to wash there. when I diagnosed it myself I also found nothing in the vagina but my mons pubis was a bit of strange. Looking at it carefully I think it has some dandruff kind of thing but I can't say it exactly whether its dandruff or what , to look at it when I cut some hair down there, some dandruff like thing fall down, but it is not of huge amount ,its very less.
Avatar m tn If my face begins to itch I use a specific dandruff shampoo. Selson Blue is what works best for me. But you have to use the one with the red cap b/c it's much more potent than all the rest in their line. First you wash your neard with the Selson Blue(RedCap) and towel it dry. Let it dry completely on it's own for 15-20 minutes or blow dry it. Then use a beard conditioner of your choice the following morning.

Avatar f tn I have to constantly lotion and my face is always peeling.
Avatar n tn It started out of the blue, my scalp became very itchy and I could not help scratching it, when I scratched it, what appeared to be white flakes of skin came off. I thought this was just normal dandruff so bought Anti-dandruff shampoo (over the years I have tried every Anti-dandruff shampoo you can think of, even stuff from my GP).
Avatar m tn So, I headed back to the doctor and saw my regular GP this time, who prescribed me with Betnovate scalp application for the red area on the top of my head that he noticed and advised that I should then move onto Nizoral Dandruff Shampoo and Simple Shampoo - Simple as a shampoo to prevent irritation and Nizoral as a dandruff solution. Well, I have done everything that he has advised and I'm still no better off for any of it.
Avatar f tn I have had dandruff on scalp since very long time. But recently due to some reason I have very bad acne on face. Fearing that those would leave me marks I went to dermatologist and was prescribed acne clear gel, hidrate lotion and adaferin gel. I have been using acne gel and hidrate lotion from one month my acne settled well. But from last 3 days I am getting very bad white flakes on face. My face is tight and some time applying lotion burns my face.
Avatar f tn Your doctor would be able to prescribe a specific shampoo for you. Or you can purchase from the pharmacy, without a prescription, a shampoo that will treat the dandruff and any fungal infection that is causing it. Always read the directions carefully how to use those shampoos. Normal dandruff is caused by a dry scalp. At home to help moisturise the scalp you can rub some baby oil or coconut oil. Coconut oil has antibacterial, antifungal and anti viral properties.
1305767 tn?1361192676 You may be reacting to the shampoo you use so you could ask your pharmacist what other shampoo might be of help but have a more mild effect. If that doesn't help improve things then it would be worthwhile to see a dermatologist.
