Me too. Head and shoulders is supposed to be good for dandruff, but I've heard awful things about head and shoulders brand so i choose not to use it. I just use a good moisturizing shampoo because dandruff is caused from your scalp being dry.

And when the bottle says lather rinse repeat actually repeat. Lol. For dry scalp dandruff you canuse mayo on your hair coat scalp and hhair leave on for 15 min rinse off. Or 3tbsp olive oil one egg and I think it was a tbsp of vinegar and put that on your hair leave on for 15 and rinse. These are easy recipes you can find online.
that's the shampoo i use, i have had hair loss a long time before getting this shampoo. I always had thick hair though and didn't really think anything of it until i started having a severe itching. Now i use that shampoo to keep the itching at bay. I was actually on here looking for a home remedy and just to learn more about scalp related funal infections. I wish i could find something that worked on the hair loss and itching better.
The first doctor prescribed a steroid cream and told me to wash my hair with dandruff shampoo and put a little of the suds in my ears and on my groin. The steroid cream worked for a couple of weeks and then stopped. A few years later a second doctor gave me samples of an anti-fungal cream and told me to use it. That did nothing.
So basically I've been itching non-stop and clawing my body up pretty good for 15 years.

Did a doctor recommend it? A dermatologist is good to talk to about issues related to one's scalp and direction on how to treat it. You may be allergic to ketocanazole shampoo as severe itching is a sign of that.

Just make sure the dandruff shampoo is okay'd by your dr. I know, crazy, it's just shampoo right? But personal care products can have things in them you shouldn't use, esp during first trimester. Motherrisk at Sick Kids can also help.
