17551709 tn?1457744886 When I was younger I did have significant dandruff. For years I've been using tea tree shampoo from ogx, its basically solved my dandruff problem. Good luck! http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?
687194 tn?1244811182 I have a very very itchy and flaky scalp. I have tried all the OTC remedies, Sea Breeze and Tea Tree Oil. It is driving me crazy. I wake up in the middle of the night sratching my head. I do not have this problem anywhere else on my body except the scalp. I have to constantly wipe my clothing off. I color my hair but have for years. I have not changed my shampoo or hair products at all. Can someone tell me about a remedy that will help...I will try just about anything!
945934 tn?1289046024 It seems to weep and generate a crustiness I noticed. I have tried dandruff shampoo, neosporin, lotion, tea tree oil, and plain petroleum jelly. All have worked to a point, but the itchiness and scaly skin still continue. It comes off in flakes. I do wear glasses and use a headband when I go to the gym which I thought caused it. Keep it clean and dry after showers but it hasn't helped. Anyone have something that works?
Avatar n tn Hello, I have read your post & I am also going through similar dandruff, my question to you is how do I determine, whether my dandruff is a sign of psoriasis or seborrhoeic dermatitis? FYI, my dandruff don't respond to any of the dandruff shampoos I have tried so far, I have started using tea tree oil since 2 weeks & I massage it once a week. Any help would be highly appreciated.

Avatar f tn Ive always suffered from dandruff and so i used T-gel and capisal anti-dandfuff shampoos, but when i got pregnant my doc told me not to use them because of coal tar and so i stopped, it also says on the back of the bottle not reccomended during pregnancy, its been 9 weeks and my head is soo itchy its driving me mad :( .. Anyone know any good natural ways to get rid of it?
Avatar n tn The white wetty substance on you scalp is most likely excess scalp buildup from a fungus or yeast infection. A great natural shampoo to use is Tea Tree shampoo. Tea Tree is a natural anti fungal and antibacterial herb. This shampoo is sold online and also in health stores. There is no harm in trying this, you will probably notice you scalp returning to a normal balance.
2078979 tn?1332206668 Its anyone else having dandruff now that you're pregnant? It is so annoying....if you do or did what are you doing for it?

Avatar n tn The dandruff is better when I cut hair short. Sometimes the itching is so irritating that I want to cut hair off!
Avatar f tn The last few weeks my scalp his been itching something awful, it is centered around the crown. I don't have dandruff and dandruff shampoo makes it worse. I have taken to washing my hair once a week because it itches so badly. The itching is making my head hurt. Please help.
20900786 tn?1598014440 I hope you can help. I have what I can only describe as huge, thick wad of dead, dry skin on my scalp above m my forehead. It feels awful and it's so irritating. Nothing will make it go away, not even a special shampoo a dermatologist prescribed. It's been awhile since I was seen. What is it, and are there any home remedies I can use? Dandruff shampoo doesn't work.
Avatar f tn It sounds like you have dandruff- which the selsun blue shampoo should help, but sometimes it can be resistant to anti-dandruff shampoos for various reasons. You could try some other brands (such as head and shoulders) or you could try some home remedies- lemon juice or apple cider vinegar. If that doesn't work, you may want to head back to your doctor to see if the flakes are indications of another medical condition- it could be something like eczema.
763572 tn?1274174679 t know what is the cause of this, considering you have tried more or less anything, so far to treat it. However, I know herbal remedies do often work (not always, but it might be worth trying if you are interested.) I'd try bathing the affected areas with a tea made of Burdock Root / Marigold Flowers / Yellow Dock. A teaspoon of each/1 cup boiling water/steep15 mins/strain/cool. Use on a pad of cotton wool 3-4 times a day.
Avatar f tn Tea tree oil is also great to relieve itchy skin,I presume tea tree shampoo would be good for itchy scalp.Always ask your doctor first if it's ok to use.
Avatar f tn Yes I would suggest using a head and shoulders type shampoo for dandruff (you may not have dandruff but the itchyness can be apart of that) if it persists, I'd suggest maybe going to the doctors, they may be able to prescribe something for it.
Avatar f tn A brand of tea called stash makes a lemon ginger tea. I add a tablespoon of honey to it. Honey is supposed to be good for everything. It really soothed my daughters cough when she was sick. Luckiky I didn't get the last 3-4 colds that got the rest of my family. I swear its the prenatals.

Avatar f tn I ate shredded wheat and also drank peppermint tea
Avatar m tn I use them after a dandruff treatment, the t/gel dandruff shampoo set that contains 3 types of dandruff control, all of them are anti-fungal. I also use tea tree or sea buckthorn soap, which are natural antibacterials. (not sure that is needed, now i think it is a fungus). To sooth my skin, I use jojoba oil and chemical-free lotions. The olive oil hair product from Hollywood Products also helps. I do this everyday. For some odd reason, keeping my neck moist makes me feel much more comfortable.
Avatar f tn I have extremely dry scalp all over that flakes and itches so bad. I've tried Head 'n' Shoulders, Selsen Blue, Green Tea Tree Oil...everything...when I initially wash my hair it works. But by that evening or the next morning it's back. When I try to use conditioners to help, my hair gets so oily I can't stand it. I don't blow dry my hair anymore because it makes it worse faster. I'm just at a loss of what to else to do to make it go away!!
