I have had dandruff for years. I tried washing my hair with different shampoos, tried washing my hair multiple times per day and even tried several different anti-dandruff shampoos without success. Now I'm going to start using home remedies like apple cider vinegar.

The dandruff is better when I cut hair short. Sometimes the itching is so irritating that I want to cut hair off!

I never used it on my son. I use it to make homemade baby wipes but that's it.

You could try some other brands (such as head and shoulders) or you could try some home remedies- lemon juice or apple cider vinegar. If that doesn't work, you may want to head back to your doctor to see if the flakes are indications of another medical condition- it could be something like eczema.

I have a very very itchy and flaky scalp. I have tried all the OTC remedies, Sea Breeze and Tea Tree Oil. It is driving me crazy. I wake up in the middle of the night sratching my head. I do not have this problem anywhere else on my body except the scalp. I have to constantly wipe my clothing off. I color my hair but have for years. I have not changed my shampoo or hair products at all. Can someone tell me about a remedy that will help...I will try just about anything!

instead the shampoos made my hair loss worse and gave me dandruff. I started experiencing severe burning sensation on my scalp. It felt like someone is pouring acid on it. It even felt painful to move my hair in any direction. It was so excruciating I ended up in the urgent care twice. They ran a bunch of thyroid and hormonal tests which came back fine.

I've never had any issues with my hair, but all of I've noticed when washing it and brushing it alot more is coming out than normally would. And it is alot thinner in just a couple weeks. My scalp is itchy like no other and I've used ever dandruff shampoo, home remedies, even cortisone cream on my scalp...nothing seems to keep the itch away.

Take a tums. Or if you like homemade remedies take a half teaspoon of baking soda mix with 6oz of water. Drink it fast and hold your nose.

I should mention that my mother suffers from a Candida Albicans overgrowth and I exhibit some of the signs of a similar infection at times. I crave carbs, I have dandruff that is hard to control, and in recent years any little scrape against my skin can turn into a puffy mark for an hour or so. Wanting to get rid of it quickly or slow down its process, I scavenged the internet for any homemade remedies. I stumbled upon one that included garlic. I was a bit skeptical, but after asking my mother I decided to proceed and apply raw garlic on my pimple. Itchy scalp my point to more of an allergy, fungal infection, or skin issue than anything else. Halls are ok but ricolas are better. A home remedy I use for cough and congestion Is sitting in a bathroom with the steam from a shower and just taking regular breaths. It breaks up the mucus and relaxes your airway.
