Ive always suffered from dandruff and so i used T-gel and capisal anti-dandfuff shampoos, but when i got pregnant my doc told me not to use them because of coal tar and so i stopped, it also says on the back of the bottle not reccomended during pregnancy, its been 9 weeks and my head is soo itchy its driving me mad :( .. Anyone know any good natural ways to get rid of it?

I've had the same thing. Mine has been happening for YEARS and it gets red,flaky, and painful. I can barely brush my hair without pain. And the coal tar shampoo doesn't work... In fact it burns. Same with the dandruff shampoos. They're not good for me obviously...

Try using coal tar shampoo! Tea tree shampoo by paul mitchell works great, but you have to by it from a salon or a beauty supply store becuase they sell knock offs that dont have the same ingrediants that work at drugs store and convinent store! before you use try to sratch of as much dead skin as you can with a brush or something!

I have had bouts of seborheic (sp) dermatitis on my scalp and earlobe areas for some time now and I find that generic coal tar shampoo helps very well. For the first day or two you will notice some flaking of the skin but many people use it to treat the itch and inflamation successfully without any negative side effects. I have read though, that you should alternate with your regular soap as not to overly dry out the skin.
Among dermatologist recommended treatments are shampoos containing coal tar, ciclopiroxolamine, ketoconazole, selenium sulfide, or zinc pyrithione. For severe disease, keratolytics such as salicylic acid or coal tar preparations may be used to remove dense scale. Topical terbinafine solution (1%) has also been shown to be effective in the treatment of scalp seborrhoea,as may lotions containing alpha hydroxy acids or corticosteroids (such as fluocinolone acetonide).

Try using t gel by neutrogena, that does sound like psorosis. T gel is very helpful, and it's not expensive I use it because I get acne on my scalp from using hair spray And it works wonders even though it is made for psorosis. It's main ingredient is coal tar so it doesn't smell pleasant but it's worth a try. Also if you had lice you'd see it crawling.

I have been suffering from dandruff for more than 10 years. I have tried Nizoral, coal tar, head and shoulder, selsum blue etc but nothing seems to help.
Especially in 3 area in my head near the centre, I big circle of dandruff forming. They can be almost the size of dime. Its thicken , raised flaky transparent skin layer with dots. I have been noticing this for atleast 4 years now. I scratch and take it out but it rebuilds in just couple of day in the excact location.

Did a doctor recommend it? A dermatologist is good to talk to about issues related to one's scalp and direction on how to treat it. You may be allergic to ketocanazole shampoo as severe itching is a sign of that.
