dandruff problem long hair

I am facing hair issues since a long time. Having dandruff problem even in the summers, having itchy scalp and an excessive hairfall problem. I have tried many shampoos and various home remedies but nothing worked out. Please help me out of this.

You can also take vit B6 and vit A and E which are good for hair and skin. Try medicated shampoos for dandruff. There are a number of over-the-counter shampoos available that can help. The most effective ingredients -- antimicrobials -- to look for are zinc pyridinethione, selenium sulfide, sulfur and ketoconazole (also available by prescription). If your hair is colored, don't use products with selenium sulfide or sulfur.

This is the 3rd summer in a row that I have been having problems with my scalp. I have been kind of keeping track and every year, for the last 3 years, I have gotten an itchy scalp that feels a lot like a normal dry scalp in the month of July and lasts until about March the next year. It is set off by me itching it or the scalp getting irritated by any kind of touch (ie hood, hat, someone else touches it) There is no redness or allergen like bumps of any kind.

Yea i had a small not really noticeable dandruff problem before i was pregnant and I've noticed its gotten worse since I've been pregnant...

t anything visible except dandruff, so is my hair loss without scalp disease? My father has dandruff too but not hair loss. so, is my hair loss associated with tinea? Once I did take pills suggested by a dermatologist but that did not really help.

I never had dandruff problems before pregnancy, but once I entered my 2nd trimester my scalp is dry and I have lots of dandruff. Anybody else have this problem and a solution? Does it go away after the baby is born?

I've had this problem since for about seven years now, it first started as just dandruff, but a lot of it, nothing would take it away; head and shoulders made it worse and so did selsum blue. Then the flake have gotten as big as the diameter of a 12oz soda bottle cap. Then i noticed that these large flakes looked more like scabs, and as they fell off really big red spots developed with blood under them, it has been on the top half of my scalp the whole five years.

Dear Doctor, I am an Indian female and got long hair, i got relocated to America 5 months back and for past thre months my hair are in a bad condition i m experiencing severe hairfall, i got a little bit of dandruff and i use dandruff shampoo and conditioner twice or thrice a week,I use herbal essence shampoo n conditioner, But my hair are gettting worse day by day, i m experienceing handful of hair everytime i comb and when i wash my hair, the condition is worst.

I think this resulted in me developing serious dandruff. its been a problem for a while now. I think there is some hairloss and scalp is very dry and itchy. Everytime I run my fingers through my hand i can see flakes falling down. I plan on shaving my head and start applying some cream. Can you recommend any medicine or any remedies. For the last 10 years I have had a problem with my scalp. It started out of the blue, my scalp became very itchy and I could not help scratching it, when I scratched it, what appeared to be white flakes of skin came off. I thought this was just normal dandruff so bought Anti-dandruff shampoo (over the years I have tried every Anti-dandruff shampoo you can think of, even stuff from my GP).

Will the selection of shampoo have results on my dandruff and hair-fall? If so suggest a shampoo to get rid of both t.he things..

Hi, The best way to treat dandruff is to use a dandruff shampoo. Look for shampoos with ingredients such as zinc pyrithone, salicyclic acid, coal tar, selenium silfide, or ketoconazole. All of these ingredients have been shown to work on dandruff; to use the shampoo, apply it to your scalp and hair, rub vigorously, and allow it to sit for five minutes so that the ingredients can work before rinsing it out.

The last 2 times i was pregnant i knew straight away by my hair, Like you i have naturally curly hair and after washing it the day later it would go really greesy and id get bad dandruff and every day was a bad hair day (literally) LOL.

I have had dandruff for years. I tried washing my hair with different shampoos, tried washing my hair multiple times per day and even tried several different anti-dandruff shampoos without success. Now I'm going to start using home remedies like apple cider vinegar.

My hair, which is usually normal and healthy, has become oily and full of dandruff within the past 24 hours! My hair became very oily with my daughter for the first few weeks, but I did not have dandruff. Has anyone else had this problem? Any shampoo suggestions that can take care of both of these problems?

Yup for 1st time in my life n secound baby n I got bad dandruff it sux. .n to top it off I cant use anyy kind of dandruff stuff cause it irritates my skin so I dont bother.but im not sure where u are but im in nz n the doc can subscribe this reall good stuuf that ya can also use on ur skin I cant member watvit called but it pink n smells YUCK hence y I still havnt botherd with it haha..

I have dandruff problem and i inherited it from my father. I take head bath everyday, if i dont my scalp gets filled with dandruff and extremely itchy, if i skip headbath for two days or even one, it becomes highly unbearable. I used Head & Shoulders shampoo everyday which definately controlled the dandruff but itching is still there(not as bad though).

I ahve had no selly scalp since then but i do still wash my hair every 3-4 days with it. Before Jason Dandruff i washed my hair every day and my pillows also smelt in a morning!
