dandruff problem help yahoo answer

The antihistimine must have stopped the itching for the time being but it did not solve the problem. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

It started out of the blue, my scalp became very itchy and I could not help scratching it, when I scratched it, what appeared to be white flakes of skin came off. I thought this was just normal dandruff so bought Anti-dandruff shampoo (over the years I have tried every Anti-dandruff shampoo you can think of, even stuff from my GP).

i have great dandruff problems on my scalp. i try lots of shampoo but no improve. for this reason i lose my hair and on my scalp there r also itching problems. and also i have alargic problems on my skin like itching. so what i do now??? to save my hair...please inform me.. bye...

I have a 4 year old Alaskan Malamute, Loki, who has dandruff like flakes on some areas of his skin. His hair is also a bit thinner along his spine on his lower back. I would love to know if anyone else is giving their dog zinc supplements and how you went about finding out that your dog has zinc-responsive dermatosis.

I used to have dandruff, but it has essentially cleared after using zinc shampoo a few times a week. But the skin is still greasy under my brow and on my eyelid, which results in hairs being weak and falling out. Any suggestions to clear up the greasy skin? I've tried hydrocortisone cream, but to little avail. Also, the condition seems to worsen after a night of drinking alcohol - is that part of the problem?

In case other people read this thread, it may help them to see that there can be an underlying health condition that causes the dry skin. Try medicated shampoos for dandruff. There are a number of over-the-counter shampoos available that can help. The most effective ingredients -- antimicrobials -- to look for are zinc pyridinethione, selenium sulfide, sulfur and ketoconazole (also available by prescription). If your hair is colored, don't use products with selenium sulfide or sulfur. If the symptoms persist then please get an evaluation done from a trichologist.

I think this resulted in me developing serious dandruff. its been a problem for a while now. I think there is some hairloss and scalp is very dry and itchy. Everytime I run my fingers through my hand i can see flakes falling down. I plan on shaving my head and start applying some cream. Can you recommend any medicine or any remedies. I never had dandruff problems before pregnancy, but once I entered my 2nd trimester my scalp is dry and I have lots of dandruff. Anybody else have this problem and a solution? Does it go away after the baby is born?

HI.. I m 28 n my pimples never stopped uptil now.. My hormones level is ok.. I feel its related with my stomach problems.. Like whenever i have gas problem in stomach i have pimples.. I've had this problem since for about seven years now, it first started as just dandruff, but a lot of it, nothing would take it away; head and shoulders made it worse and so did selsum blue. Then the flake have gotten as big as the diameter of a 12oz soda bottle cap. Then i noticed that these large flakes looked more like scabs, and as they fell off really big red spots developed with blood under them, it has been on the top half of my scalp the whole five years.

Okay I ned help my cat has dandruff and I am pretty sure it is coming from the lack of dry air here in the house it has been very cold.. So i am sure there isnt much mositure in the air... I walked to the library without stopping and back (with a bathroom break and grabbed a couple of books inbetween) with the walker. I wasn't able to do it without stopping a lot 2 weeks ago. Yahoo. Oh and I started PT exercises on Thursday. It went well. I'm still working on getting off the walker.

I have been suffering from dandruff for more than 10 years. I have tried Nizoral, coal tar, head and shoulder, selsum blue etc but nothing seems to help. Especially in 3 area in my head near the centre, I big circle of dandruff forming. They can be almost the size of dime. Its thicken , raised flaky transparent skin layer with dots. I have been noticing this for atleast 4 years now. I scratch and take it out but it rebuilds in just couple of day in the excact location.

to the Dr, i am using pantene anti hair fall shampoo and right after washing mt hair becomes sticky and greasy at the crown.it's so annoying that i even tried washing my hair with shower gel.I've had scalp fungal infection before and can it cause the greasy hair problem? what shampoo would you suggest to get rid of greasy hair?

I believe that's exactly what I said, Mom. But it won't cure psoriasis. It won't cure a dandruff problem. If you can cure something, it's always better than medicating it. But to cure it you do need to know what you're dealing with and whether it has a cure. But yeah, I said it doesn't have too many problems. But it can be very drying as it's very strong, all dandruff shampoos are, and that just makes the problem stick around.
