dry parts on my head that I can feel and scrape off which leaves dead skin cells on my finger tips, therefore I know my scalp is dry. However, head and shoulders and other anti dandruff shampoos have done nothing at all to stop the itch. The only thing that worked was last year when I got a prescription Allegra D. The antihistimine must have stopped the itching for the time being but it did not solve the problem. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
i have great dandruff problems on my scalp. i try lots of shampoo but no improve. for this reason i lose my hair and on my scalp there r also itching problems. and also i have alargic problems on my skin like itching. so what i do now??? to save my hair...please inform me.. bye...

Hello I have had a problem for a while, the problem is on my scalp after I take a bath well my head ich a lot and then in the morning I have like yellow bumps and a lot of white flakes. I ask my mom she told me that she has had the same thing ever since she was little. Can you help me doctor?

It started out of the blue, my scalp became very itchy and I could not help scratching it, when I scratched it, what appeared to be white flakes of skin came off. I thought this was just normal dandruff so bought Anti-dandruff shampoo (over the years I have tried every Anti-dandruff shampoo you can think of, even stuff from my GP).

i am using pantene anti hair fall shampoo and right after washing mt hair becomes sticky and greasy at the crown.it's so annoying that i even tried washing my hair with shower gel.I've had scalp fungal infection before and can it cause the greasy hair problem? what shampoo would you suggest to get rid of greasy hair?
The first doctor prescribed a steroid cream and told me to wash my hair with dandruff shampoo and put a little of the suds in my ears and on my groin. The steroid cream worked for a couple of weeks and then stopped. A few years later a second doctor gave me samples of an anti-fungal cream and told me to use it. That did nothing.
So basically I've been itching non-stop and clawing my body up pretty good for 15 years.
I'm having some very bad dandruff since i got pregnant. nothing helps. I've tried t-gel and head and shoulders. Any other suggestions?

The best way to treat dandruff is to use a dandruff shampoo. Look for shampoos with ingredients such as zinc pyrithone, salicyclic acid, coal tar, selenium silfide, or ketoconazole. All of these ingredients have been shown to work on dandruff; to use the shampoo, apply it to your scalp and hair, rub vigorously, and allow it to sit for five minutes so that the ingredients can work before rinsing it out.
I've had this problem since for about seven years now, it first started as just dandruff, but a lot of it, nothing would take it away; head and shoulders made it worse and so did selsum blue. Then the flake have gotten as big as the diameter of a 12oz soda bottle cap. Then i noticed that these large flakes looked more like scabs, and as they fell off really big red spots developed with blood under them, it has been on the top half of my scalp the whole five years.
I think this resulted in me developing serious dandruff. its been a problem for a while now. I think there is some hairloss and scalp is very dry and itchy. Everytime I run my fingers through my hand i can see flakes falling down. I plan on shaving my head and start applying some cream. Can you recommend any medicine or any remedies. I would really appreciate some help.

For as far back as I can remember I've had horrible dandruff. In 2nd grade, I was so embarrassed because during a regular lice check at school, the school nurse made a nasty comment about my "cakes of dandruff." And coinciding with this dandruff is a horrible, almost unbearable itch.
