Recently, i have got some hard dandruff patches on my scalp. I experience a lot of itching in them. I oil my scalp regularly and use an anti dandruff shampoo but so far no improvement. I have 4-5 such patches on my scalp and every time i brush my hair, a lot of dandruff comes out. Someone please advise!
I recently shaved my head, I do this once every two months and I notice some round red patches that were not there before. They are completely flat, I had no hair loss in the areas and they are not itchy at all. The patches began hurting after I shaved my head. I am thinking tinea capitis but that's just a guess. The only flaking I had was general dandruff I've always had and treated with anti dandruff shampoo, this red spot is new.
Psoriasis of the scalp and dandruff are very common. The best thing I've ever heard of to combat it is the tar shampoos. T-Gel is a name brand and there are lots of knock off's with the same ingredients. This is what dermatologists recommend.
I first started getting dandruff a while back; now I have spots that are very visible, especially when I get out of the shower. They don't really itch or hurt but they do have a redness to them, but its just really dry patches; I've tried treating them with over-the-counter dandruff shampoo but to no avail. I also have a dry-skin problem on my face and my doctor gave me Ketoconazole cream which helped, but the same cream does not remedy my scalp problems.
I am 22 right now, when i was 15, i had very oily skin. Then i had a period of acne, dry skin and dandruff. Right now, i have these red patches around nose, around my hairline and my collarbone. The ones at my hairline and collarbone are itchy. and Sometimes i feel itching sensation on random parts of body but no rashes. I also have dandruff, it's been 7/8 years with it, I use zinc pyrothine shampoo but it's temporary solution.
-around 15 I started getting bad dandruff. My scalp would become very greasy and scaly. I still get dandruff and my hair is very oily (just like my face.. oily + dry)
-around this young age I also used to get patches of itchy red skin on my face some times... almost looked like sun burn
-I also used to get flaky yellowish patches of skin on my face
-The inside of my ears and directly behind them are usually dry
-Currently I don't usually get any red patches on my face..
I was wondering if it is possible to have eczema without the affected area getting red? I have had patches of dry flaky skin on my eyelids (upper and lower) for about a month now and I've been trying moisturizers and allergy medication with little help. First, could this truely be eczema and second how should it be treated when it occurs around the eyes.

hi im 22 and i just shaved my head but i still have dandruff in patches on my head when i scratch it its lik snow(lol) and leaves white patches on my scalp. i have also been loosing my hair since i was 15,( luckly im still goodlooking) but what do u think of this. oh and the sides of my hair is much thicker that the top.

I do have dandruff in my hair. I was diagnosed with Seborrheic Dermatitis by my dermatologist at the age of 21. Not knowing any better when I was younger I tried everything over the counter for acne, but I didn't have acne. I definitely do not have rosacea because I never got pustules.

Desonate
Nizoral Shampoo on my face
head and shoulders on my face
and Desonide lotion.
the only thing that works is desonide lotion.
ve this concern for a year now. Whenever i scratch or brush my hair white flaky particles fall off and there are white patches on some areas of my head. In the mornings i notice there are sought of moulded particles on head and hair line which i have to choice but to scratch off, the result is a painful sensation all over my head. It's really embarrassing in public and generally.
My 2 yr old girl is having a dandruff but a lot and i used a lot of shampoo and even tea tree oil i tried it but its not working.and also her fingers are becoming dry and because its drying its having a wound at he end of the day.Please help me!
Just thought I should add that the patch is really made up of smaller patches that come together in the center and that I'm not sure that the hair grows faster there.
I have had itchy patches that itch really bad and when I itch them they bleed. My scalp will be red with blood, but it is a clear liquid that makes my hair stick together at night. It started about 3 years ago and then went away and came back last year and never cleared up. When I do itch my head, I have these big clumps of scabs that come off with it. I have tried T-gel shampoo and nothing is helping. Can you suggest anything? I have also put neosporin on them.
I have white spots and patches on my forearms, neck, lower face, and chest. I dont know what this is although I read an article which stated that it maybe chlamydia. I dont know for sure but it goes away sometimes then comes back throughout the year. It causes some itching and sometimes makes me uncomfartable. What is this, is it a fungus or an STD?
Hello, for the past few months, I've had patches on my forehead that feel like dry skin but look like clogged pores. I can't get the pores to unclog which makes me think its NOT clogged pores, but unlike dry skin, its not flaking or coming off if I run my nail over it. I just realized that I do have some milia on either side of my face, but while those were easy to identify, this patch is not. There are also some other small patches of the same thing on my cheeks.
As a result, white patches appear on the skin in different parts of the body. Diagnosis can be confirmed by external examination, blood tests to check skin cell count for melanocytes and biopsy of the skin patches.

ve experienced extremely dry and flaky scalp. Can you look at these photos and tell me what it is? Dry scalp, dandruff, scalp psoriasis, or seborrheic dermatitis. The bad part is, I just washed my hair on Monday night. I washed it, conditioned it, put a little of olive oil (food-grade), then I braided my hair in about 8 plaits. I have to wash my hair every week b/c of my scalp. I'm unable to wear twist-outs/braid-outs or any hairstyle that requires me to wear my hair out.
