Dandruff lymph nodes

Common Questions and Answers about Dandruff lymph nodes

dandruff

Avatar n tn This can cause your neck lymph nodes to enlarge. Hence in all probability the swellings are enlarged lymph nodes. Not a cause of concern. However you should treat dandruff as apart from the itch it can cause hair fall. It is not dangerous in itself though. You can add crushed garlic and peppercorn to coconut oil and heat it. Apply it twice in a week at night and keep overnight. There are many anti dandruff shampoos in the market which you can use.
Avatar n tn In your case if the lymph nodes are swollen then dandruff alone cannot cause it and it is caused by fungal infection which can predispose to dandruff. My sincere advice would be to consult a dermatologist and get FNAC of the swollen lymph node done. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar n tn It sounds like your suboccipital lymph nodes are swollen. The suboccipital lymph node is located at the junction between the back of the head and neck. It drains the scalp and head. This normally swells if there is a localized infection in the scalp or head. It sounds like you have either a scalp issue and/or upper respiratory respiratory infection (cough, sore throat). It sounds like you maybe experiencing drainage issues because of the scratchy sore throat issue.
Avatar n tn Also I noticed that my lymph nodes. (the ones behind my ears and at my jaw line are swollen. Its like raised bruises. I got some dandruff shampoo to hope that it will help but some people are telling me I should go to the doctor. I'd like to avoid paying the fees if at all possible. Is this something that will go away with after use of the shampoo?

Avatar f tn The symptoms of Ringworm or Tinea Capitis include a dry itchy scalp, scaling, crusting, inflamed nodules, hair loss and tender enlarged lymph nodes on the neck. Because of the scratching that is involved with the condition it can become secondarily infected with a bacterial infection. Diagnosis is by clinical examination of the scalp as well as a skin lesion biopsy with microscopic examination. Anti-fungal medications, taken by mouth, are used to treat the infection.
Avatar f tn Have you ever had a Lymphatic Massage. It is directed to help move the lymph fluid. This helps clear out the lymph nodes and the swelling.
Avatar n tn I have several palpable lymph nodes in my base of neck posterior triangle supraclavicular area. I went to a specialist and he explained these are the nodes that the scalp eventually drains into. I had a fna and core needle of 1 of the palpable lymph nodes. However I can feel about 3 in each side of neck and they arent very large in fact they might not be enlarged but I can feel them.

Avatar n tn Lymph nodes swell when there is an infection. They are the organ that helps fight off the infection. Sounds like your ear may have an infection, is your ear pierced? Go to the doctor and have them take a look at it.
Avatar n tn There are lots of lymph nodes in the neck. The lymphatic vessels are like a drainage system for your body. Avatar f tn Swollen lymphnodes behind your ears could be due to chest infection, tonsillitis or pharyngitis, dandruff, infection of ear or even metastasis from a cancer. Neck lymph nodes can be the result of tonsillitis, pharyngitis (infection of upper throat), infection in mouth, caries in tooth, internal ear infection, outer ear infection, eczema, dermatitis, dandruff, breast cancer, fungal infection, other cancers like lymphoma etc.
Avatar n tn Swollen lymph nodes behind your ears could be due to chest infection, tonsillitis or pharyngitis, dandruff, infection of ear or even metastasis from a cancer. It could also be of tubercular pathology. Since it has been long standing, the simplest explanation could be either dandruff or caries in tooth. Allergic cough or long standing allergies too can cause a lymph node. A swelling behind the ear if has not increased in size is unlikely to be the cause of your headaches.
Avatar n tn It is somewhat bigger than other lymph nodes in that region, but seems to be in the normal range (under 1 inch). So far, I'm not showing any other symptoms, but I'm a hypochondriac, so this worries me greatly. What could cause it?
Avatar f tn If the lumps have been there for last 20 years then probably they are lymph nodes. You could be having dandruff, ear infection, dermatitis etc since childhood. Please get this evaluated immediately as you have itch as a new symptom. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar m tn How to Know When to See a Doctor for Painful Lymph Nodes Your lymph nodes filter out bacteria and viruses from your body. Lymph nodes are located throughout your body, with the largest located under your arms, in your neck and in your groin. When lymph nodes are painful, it is a sign that you have some type of infection which the nodes are trying to fight off. The type and severity of the infection and the presence of accompanying symptoms determines when you should see a doctor.
Avatar f tn I have had several swollen lymph nodes on my neck on the back side and behind my ears. I have been to my intern dr who sent me to a surgen who sent me to an infectious disease dr. I've had every blood test done. I've had xrays and ct scans. I've had one of the lymph nodes biopsyed and no one has an answer. Has anyone every heard of this or have any suggestions as to what is wrong. I do have discoid lupus but that's all.
Avatar m tn Every time I've checked for the past month, I've noticed a lump on the right side of my neck. I went in to the doctor about a week after I first noticed it, and he said that it's probably just my lymph nodes flaring up. It's not that large, but definitely there and definitely asymmetrical. Should I go in again?
Avatar n tn Its very unlikely that medication is causing the nodes to enlarge. The lymph nodes enlarge as the cells are overactive trying to remove the allergen (allergy causing substance/molecule) from the body. You can consult your doctor about this, maybe carry out some tests as advised by him like eosinophil counts and differential blood count, and seek advice about the course of treatment to reduce these symptoms. Another point to consider would be presence of dandruff.
Avatar m tn Lump behind the ear could be an abscess, folliculitis, lipoma (localized collection of fat), an inflamed lymph node or a neurofibroma (localized harmless swelling in of nerve and connective tissue). However swollen lymph nodes behind your ears could be due to chest infection, dental problem, tonsillitis or pharyngitis, dandruff, infection of ear. There are many other causes for lymph node swelling, but these swellings will come gradually and not pain to start with.
Avatar n tn I am not sure where the glands are swollen. If you had flu like symptoms initially then it could be due to infectious mononucleosis too.
Avatar n tn maybe swollen lymph nodes. Have you been sick?
