m going off of what I vaguely remember lol. There are 3 causes for dandruff dry scalp, oily scalp, and a fungus. The condition of your scalp is what is going to tell u which treatment to use. One remedy is ad easy as shampooing everyday and using less conditioner on your scalp. You should also try using a clarifying shampoo and a moisturizing conditioner.

I tried a bunch of more heavy duty OTC shampoos for dandruff, but none worked. I used an essential oils scalp massage and that worked for a bit. Now it is out of control and driving me crazy. One interesting note, at Christmas time I dyed my hair with one of those "intense" colour hair colourings. It burned and tingled my scalp, but afterward my scalp problems were gone for about 4 weeks. No itching, flaking or soreness.

I have never had dandruff before. The flakes are pretty big and there is this one spot where if i go to scratch my scalp it always bleeds. I have tried changing shampoos and washing my hair with cold water instead of hot but nothing has made it go away. I notice a reduction in flakes the day i shower but after that it gets worse. Im not sure if i should see a doctor or not. What could it be?

I really wish i knew what was wrong with my scalp - ill accept anything as long as it isnt lice - perhaps the treatment just wont work? My scalp feels more dry than oily and the dandruff flakes are small and white and do remove from my head when i scratch - reassuring me they arent lice eggs.

I am 28 years old male. I have itchy scalp because of dandruff and my hair looks dry and damaged. One year ago I had good volume of hair but currently I had lost more hair reason because of dandruff. I feel very embarrassed. I was using coconut oil for my hair from my childhood and was still using it. But from one week I stopped using oil because when I use it now my hair look less and to hide it I don't use it. When I don't use oil my hair looks more.

I have had an itchy scalp and dandruff. My hair is healthy and becomes oily very easily. I have picked up some Tgel, but wanted to know if nayone had any other options on what works. Head and shoulders does nothing but make my hair very oily. ANy suggestions woudl be appreciated.

For what it is worth...here is what I think. First..you must see a dermatologist. Those dandruff shampoos are the worst thing you can try and will most definitely not stop the sort of itching you describe. A lot of things can be causing the intense itch. After much experimenting...i use Clobex...prescribed by my derm. I don't have dandruff...never have...i do have outbreaks of psorisis (spelling?)..but what causes the itch is unimportant to me...stopping it is.

I am limited in products that I can use because my Celiac Disease causes me to react to topical products that contain gluten, which is in most products for dandruff shampoo. My scalp is in terrible shape, and my hair is shedding way more than is normal. I do take vitamin supplements and fish oil daily. Please help! Thank you.

They seem to be made out of dandruff or built up dead skin cells, but I use a specialized shampoo that keeps my scalp moisturized since I've had dandruff issues before. The bumps leak a clear fluid when I scratch them off, and, as expected of an open "wound", sting when in contact with anything external. There is no specific odor that is identifiable, and I have not been able to see one of the bumps via a photo to determine color.

Selaun blue is AWESOME there's also this stuff and I can never remember what its called but its tar something or the other and obviously its brown. I find mine at Walmart and they have an equate brand. It is also amazing. I personally like the way it smells (I'm weird I also like the way laquer thinner smells) anyway it smells like tar but girl.it is awesome too! s pretty much for scalp issues such as oily scalp, dry scalp dandruff, psoriasis..) and then this conditioner called american classic tea tree conditioner.. it's absolutely amazing, the first time i used it i could FEEL the difference, it was like such a relief to my scalp. The first one whatever is in it soothes my scalp and then the tea tree oil does something else that helps, no idea what but it feels so much better. Hope that helps a little bit!!

t wash your hair more than needed, over washing can dry out your scalp. Try a coconut oil mask and concentrate it at your scalp/ roots then leave it in for 30 minutes or overnight. You can also buy masks from beauty stores as well.
