Avatar m tn However, I would speak to your medical team about the itchiness which could possibly be liver-related. The tx itself may make your skin drier; up your water intake especially during tx and transfer to a natural shampoo with no harsh chemicals. Speak to your nurse about the problems you're having... Good luck.
Avatar n tn Apply it twice in a week at night and keep overnight. There are many anti dandruff shampoos in the market which you can use. Comb your hair well and massage your scalp well. If dandruff persists consult a skin specialist. Once this resolves the lymph nodes will disappear on their own. Hope this helps. Do let me know if there is any thing else and keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar n tn You can treat flaking and dryness with over-the-counter dandruff or medicated shampoos. Shampoo the hair vigorously and frequently (preferably daily). Active ingredients in these shampoos include salicylic acid, coal tar, zinc, resorcin, ketoconazole, or selenium. If the symptoms persist, then it would be best to get it confirmed from a dermatologist I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
Avatar f tn Found that using that combined with washing my entire body using a dandruff shampoo has made the itching no longer wake me up in the middle of the night and now manageable. I really scrub with that cloth and I have to say it feels wonderful, because it is also scratching at the same time. Also, everyone tells me that my skin looks great and is glowing, on an up side of this. I have been to doctors and dermatologists about this, and they seem to be at a loss.
Avatar n tn t seem to have made much of a dent in the dandruff. Like I said, the dandruff is minimal on some days and heavier on other days with seemingly no rhyme or reason. I've tried adding some olive oil to his food, and even rubbing some on him because I read it might help, but really when I massaged some olive oil into his skin it almost seemed to make the dandruff worse. What do you all think? I have read they sell dog balm and dog moisturizers, which I'd never even heard of before.
Avatar n tn Testing does not give a person HIV but it does give them the power to know what is going on and whether or not they have the infection. Most tests are negative and if you were so unfortunate as to have HIV, the test would allow you to seek treatment sooner. There is no reason to delay or avoid HIV testing. I hope my comments are helpful.

The vet says she's in great health and it's nothing to worry about. Don't know if her being an indoor dog has anything to do with it.

Accordingly a suitable alternative should be used instead. Among dermatologist recommended treatments are shampoos containing coal tar, ciclopiroxolamine, ketoconazole, selenium sulfide, or zinc pyrithione.
446049 tn?1649005835 The answer depends on your personal circumstances. First, the diagnosis of psoriasis might not have been correct. Psoriasis is an autoimmune disorder and is a form of arthritis, and I don't know any cure for it. There are medications out there to control outbreaks. All medications can have side effects, but use of this product on the skin doesn't have too many problems other than causing skin irritation, pimples, and things like that.
Avatar m tn , skin rashes, and i lost weight, mild join pain, dizziness and fatigue and sometimes increased heart beat rate, lactose intolerance and bloating with abdominal pain at times and dry eyes. Avatar m tn Of course, a vet would likely know if they looked at it. But with the dandruff like description and the winter months where heaters run and humidity tends to be lower in the house, it seems as if dry skin is a possibility. You might try a humidifier in the area she spends most her time.
Avatar n tn You can also take vit B6 and vit A and E which are good for hair and skin. Try medicated shampoos for dandruff. There are a number of over-the-counter shampoos available that can help. The most effective ingredients -- antimicrobials -- to look for are zinc pyridinethione, selenium sulfide, sulfur and ketoconazole (also available by prescription). If your hair is colored, don't use products with selenium sulfide or sulfur.

Avatar f tn You can tell its dandruff or dry scalp by the colour and if there is a smell present or not. Dandruff is yellowish and gives off an odour.
436973 tn?1217947089 There are also some parasitic skin disorders such as Cheyletiella (known as “walking dandruff”) that can cause the coat to appear flaky and dry. This problem is more common during the winter when the air becomes drier than normal. Other than that, a good source of Omega-3 fatty acid will certainly help you.
