Avatar m tn Hello, Dandruff can cause either an overly dry scalp with itchy white flakes that may be waxy or greasy, or it can manifest as an oily scalp with scales. Eat a healthy diet. You can also take vit B6 and vit A and E which are good for hair and skin. Try medicated shampoos for dandruff. There are a number of over-the-counter shampoos available that can help.
9562964 tn?1416928231 Will the selection of shampoo have results on my dandruff and hair-fall? If so suggest a shampoo to get rid of both t.he things..
344397 tn?1235577228 Mine's kind of the opposite. I've started having a TON of dandruff. And my skin is really dry other places, too. Maybe I need to drink more water.
Avatar f tn You can treat flaking and dryness with over-the-counter dandruff or medicated shampoos. Shampoo the hair vigorously and frequently (preferably daily). Active ingredients in these shampoos include salicylic acid, coal tar, zinc, resorcin, ketoconazole, or selenium. But if your hair is colored, don't use products with selenium sulfide or sulfur. If the symptoms persist, then it would be best to get it confirmed from a dermatologist. Eat a healthy diet.
Avatar f tn Just a question, is it dandruff (oily hair) or dry scalp (no moisture). I'd also like to add that head and shoulders is one of the worst shampoos you can use because of the wax that coats your hair. Maybe try cutting back on shampoos each week and use a moisturizing conditioner if your hair is excessively oily. You can tell its dandruff or dry scalp by the colour and if there is a smell present or not. Dandruff is yellowish and gives off an odour.
Avatar n tn My hair, which is usually normal and healthy, has become oily and full of dandruff within the past 24 hours! My hair became very oily with my daughter for the first few weeks, but I did not have dandruff. Has anyone else had this problem? Any shampoo suggestions that can take care of both of these problems?
Avatar f tn It started with sweating in my hands since my childhood. Sometimes my skin got dry and rough but sometimes it gets very oily. I'm 21 years old. From last year I'm facing hair loss from whole body like from whole hair. I have tried many DHT blockers and stuff to reduce the speed of hair but got no results. I'm also using a dandruff control shampoo because by using normal shampoo my hair gets dry and rough.

Avatar n tn Then finally last year, I asked her to give me a hormone imbalanced test (because I was so sick of her telling me that I am just stressed out, and I can’t think of the reason for this oily scalp problem and hair loss), and while she was telling me that the results were negative (I told her I want to see a dermatologist, because these issues bother me so much!) She finally gives in and referred me to one (I think she got sick of my going back to see her for same problem!).

Avatar f tn m going off of what I vaguely remember lol. There are 3 causes for dandruff dry scalp, oily scalp, and a fungus. The condition of your scalp is what is going to tell u which treatment to use. One remedy is ad easy as shampooing everyday and using less conditioner on your scalp. You should also try using a clarifying shampoo and a moisturizing conditioner.

Avatar n tn I have searched smelly/stinky scalp and am finding very little to help. I have two children ages 11 and 8, and only recently noticed that when I smell their scalp (at the top of their heads) it stinks! It alwasys smells, however it doesn't smell bad unless I put my nose on top of their heads and sniff. I have done this right after their shower and hair wash, even when shampood twice. Doesn't matter, hair is still wet and stinks! Some research says it is oily scalp and fungus.

Ive and what I thought was dadruff most of my life but I found out that dandruff is actually a scalp condition that is caused by a natural bacteria that grows on ur scalp and u can use oils like tea tree, and eucaliptus to kill it and calm/get rid of dadruff.
