Avatar n tn The internet has many sites that say natural methods like mayonnaise, vinegar, and natural oils can be used to smother the louses and neutralize the nits. I would like for someone to share a real testimonial with me on how to defeat this agonizing pest, and I advise you to do your own homework on the subject and not waste hundreds and thousands of dollars on over the counter remedies.
20665871 tn?1503208871 I have tried just about every remedy there is from all shampoos over the counter to stuff like mayonnaise, limes, and coconut oil. I just can't seem to keep it at bay. Having the benefit of working from home i decided to shave my head completely to physically see what was wrong with my head. After shaving my scalp was covered with red irritated marks all over.
Avatar f tn I know it *****. But its just lice. And if you do get it. A good way to get rid of it is mayonnaise on your hair like tons of it and keep it on for a couple hrs the lice will suffocate and die. Its better than all those nasty chemicals.

Avatar m tn Lice can be killed quickly, easily, cheaply and safely with mayonnaise. Simply get a new jar of mayonnaise from your kitchen shelf or at the grocery store. (Don’t grab one from the refrigerator, as it will be way too cold.) Grab a handful (or several) and cover all of your hair, being sure to get behind the ears and down the neck a little. You can cover this with a plastic shower cap to keep the mayonnaise from dripping or getting onto your furniture.

Avatar m tn Hello, For dandruff, eat a healthy diet. You can also take vit B6 and vit A and E which are good for hair and skin. Try medicated shampoos for dandruff. There are a number of over-the-counter shampoos available that can help. The most effective ingredients -- antimicrobials -- to look for are zinc pyridinethione, selenium sulfide, sulfur and ketoconazole (also available by prescription). If your hair is colored, don't use products with selenium sulfide or sulfur.
Avatar f tn Hi, wondering if anyone has an answer for me. I used to get dandruff on and off and I used head & shoulders or others like it and it worked fine. This winter, however, my scalp has gotten extremly dry and itchy and flaky, and sore from all the scratching. I tried a bunch of more heavy duty OTC shampoos for dandruff, but none worked. I used an essential oils scalp massage and that worked for a bit. Now it is out of control and driving me crazy.
